  1. Price reduced. Keen to shift this.
  2. Hi Bill, A positive outlook shows great perspective - all the best with your treatment. I'd love to meet you in person having held your comments on this forum in high regard for some time. Having time to have a drink, chat and learn how to solder cables would make that even better - count me in! I will work around whatever suits you. George
  3. A Bluesound Flex has provided my household with a similar change. My wife and kids can connect their phones to it easily and so we are all listening to more music, more often. I can't recall the last time my wife turned on our main system - pre-amp, power amp, DAC, subwoofer - and streamed to the Bluesound Node2. She just finds pushing all of those buttons too tedious. Simplicity and expedience is the key for her. I much prefer my main system for serious listening and wouldn't get rid of it at all, but I have to confess I love the ease of the Flex.
  4. Item: Panasonic DMR-PWT530 Blue Ray player with 500GB PVR. Location: Brisbane Price: $200 ono + shipping if required. Now$175 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Not being used Payment method: Paypal, Cash on pick up. Extra info: Blue Ray play with 500GB PVR. This has been used infrequently since we signed on for Netflix a few years ago as it is in the kids room. No remote for this as we still need it for the TV. I’d prefer pick-up but will post at buyer’s expense. Pictures:
  5. Item: Cocktail Audio X10 music ripper / server / internet radio unit. Location: Brisbane Price: $350 ono + shipping. Price drop to $300 + shipping. Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Not being used. Payment method: Paypal, Cash on pick up. Extra info: For sale is this Cocktail Audio X10 unit with a 2Tb HD. I bought this new 4yrs ago and used it for 2yrs until I bought into the Bluesound family. This unit can be a stand alone player with a modest amp that will drive small speakers happily. I used the speakers from a JVC 3in1 unit with this and it produced respectable results. Alternatively, you can use it as a server / library and feed it into your main system using the optical output into your DAC. Included are the remote, a wifi dongle and the hard drive – which I will clear before selling. I’d prefer pick-up but will post at buyer’s expense. Pictures:
  6. Item: WireWorld Starlight 3 AES/EBU digital coax cable. Location: Brisbane Price: $80 including shipping. Now $70 including shipping. Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Not being used Payment method: Paypal, Cash on pick up. Extra info: I bought this to mate a DAC and CDP together. I sold the DAC and CDP a while ago but held on to this for Justin. I am streaming my digital files via a Bluesond Node2 so don’t see the point in hanging on to this any longer. Pictures:
  7. Item is now sold. I ended up buying an IKEA Kallax shelving unit. Bigger but not as sturdy as the old one.
  8. Pending payment and collection.
  9. Wow! Do they really have "Here Comes the Ghurkers" - the Ghurkers pipe and drum band - for only $10?!?!?!? That's the missing piece in my collection of Ghurker band albums!!! It's way more than that on Discogs, if you can find a copy at all. Sarcasm aside, I agree with the prior comments on CD's being where the magic is at in op-shops and pawn/Cash Convertors shops. They're throwing them away and I am a fan of physical ownership of music, not hiring it.
  10. Item: Vinyl storage unit - holds approx 300LP's Location: Brisbane - northside. Price: $80 Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: Need a larger solution Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: For sale is this vinyl rack. In a past life it was my father's animation cell box - back in the old days when each cell was hand painted on acetate cells they needed to stay in order and dry out - hence all of the ply dividers which can be removed. It was a white laminex box - I painted it red and added rubber feet. The back panel is a perforated ply. Dimensions are 114cm H x 68cm W x 29cm D. Each division holds 5-6 records so by a quick count that makes space for 300 LP's. As you can see I have exceeded this capacity and have had to buy a larger storage solution. Sadly, I need to let this go as I don't have the space to keep it. It goes without saying, the LP's are not included. Pick up only. Whilst not particularly heavy, it is much easier to move with 2 people. I can help you load it at this end, you'd be best off having someone at your end to unload and position it. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  11. Thanks for the feedback @furtherpale @rantan - I'll look into the Dynavector p75. As for my earlier comments, I was trying to say to the OP that the Rhondo is more likely the issue, not the phonostage. I agree that it has a relaxed sound. A change from the Rhondo to the lower output Hana made a significant improvement for my mind, suggesting the phonostage isn't necessarily the issue. Can the phono-amp be bettered? Yes. Would a different / better phono-amp make the Rhondo sound less relaxed? I suspect not that much.
