  1. To be clear with my above comment, I used the oomph on my 2.5yr old Node 2, not the more recently purchased Powernode 2i. My suspicion is that the heat (pre/power amps and PS4) in my cabinet may have been responsible for the surface degradation on the Node. Rubber and heat don't mix that well over time. With the pre/power amps removed from my cabinet now, I am hoping I won't have this issue with the Powernode.
  2. Have tried the oomph on my unit and will vouch for it. Cleaned the sticky material away far easier and cleaner that just using a cloth. It still took a bit of effort but it is now looking, and feeling much better. Thanks for the tip.
  3. I'll get one, eventually. I tend to hang on to the prior generation until the price on the new one has come down some. I upgraded my PS4 500GB slim + $149 to a PS4 1Tb pro at EB Games just before Christmas. Seemed like an absolute no-brainer at that price. and will do me for the next two years. My son mainly blazes away on Fortnight and Star Wars Battlefront 2 but we occasionally battle it out on GT Sport - which not having been too interested in simulator games the past, would say is very good @rmpfyf.
  4. Item: Musical Fidelity X-CANS V3 headphone amp + spare pair of tubes,- you choose the power supply. Location: Brisbane Price: $250 with stock wall wart or $380 with a Little Pinkie V3 external power supply. Spare tubes are included with either combination. Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: No longer required, downsizing my set-up. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought this headphone amp off a UK seller in 2011 and then had it shipped to Mike at rockgrotto.co.uk and had him give it the full mod package and new valves. I also bought a Little Pinkie V3 power supply off Mike at the same time and he did not forward on the wall wart. I am trying to move a few X-ponents at the moment and am happy to offer this with either a stock wall wart or the Little Pinkie V3 - not both. I need to pair one of the power supplies with my remaining X-LPS V3 - hence one or the other. Please be aware that the stock wall warts had UK plugs on them and were supplied with an AU adapter. This is a good can amp that drives my Sennheiser HD 650’s very well and is reported to have enough juice to drive most cans with ease. It has been used sparingly over the years - 300-400hrs at most in that time. It definitely sings when combined with an MF X-PSU V3 or the Little Pinkie compared to the stock wall wart. I am also including in the sale a pair of NOS Russian tubes - 6H23n - that I bought for this amp as back ups. Never used, only removed from boxes to check the valve type. It seems I didn't take a photo of these but can images to interested parties if requested. No original box. I can ship at your cost and risk.
  5. Item: Musical Fidelity X-PSU V3 + 2 extra long hook up cables Location: Brisbane Price: $330 + shipping Item Condition: Good Reason for selling: No longer required, have downsized my set-up. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I had this unit advertised with a number of other X-ponents last month. I am listing the remaining items individually now. This power supply unit can simultaneously feed up to four different V3 X-ponents – original hook-up cables and power cord included. This power supply takes the sonic signature of the LPS-V3 / X-CANS V3 / X-DAC V3 to a higher level. If you run more than one X-Ponent, this unit is worth having. I am including a pair of 2m long hook up cables I purchased that allow you greater freedom with positioning of the X-ponents within your cabinet. Particularly helpful if you have a number of X-ponents. Original box and power cable included. I can ship at your cost. Photos:
  6. Item: Musical Fidelity X-RAY V3 CD player Location: Brisbane Price: $600. Item condition: Very good Reason for sale: Streaming only now. Payment method: Pick up – cash, Paypal, COD. Extra info: I bought this second hand from Len Wallis Audio just over 2yrs ago. They do not come up often and I had been looking for one to match the rest of the MF V3 range that I owned. I impulsively grabbed it. It is a good player in its own right but used it predominantly as a transport in my system with an Audioilab M-DAC. I also tried it with a MF X-DAC V3 (which is also for sale). The Audiolab + X-RAY V3 was the best combo to my ears. I have gone down the streaming road and have not used this for over 6 months now. I have decided it is time for this spinner to go to another home. Comes with power cord and manual. A MF remote came with this but testing it last night revealed it doesn't work. I can include it if you like. I do not have the original packaging so shipping would be at a buyers risk and cost.
  7. @rantan I have finally got my stuff together. Today I wired my phono amp to my Powernode 2i with an Audioquest Victoria RCA to 3.5mm jack cable. I haven’t been able to listen to vinyl for over a month but I was hard up to identify any significant loss in quality compared to my prior conventional set up, listening to music I am very familiar with. I am very happy with the end result. I’d say it’s worth considering. The Node isn’t as good SQ wise as my prior set up although it doesn’t represent a significant downgrade, only marginal. I loose some clarity and width and depth to my soundstage but going from a pre/power 120w/channel set up, I expected that. I actually expected the difference to be much greater than it is. The Node does it all - takes tv audio via HDMI, streams, can use headphones and does vinyl. I’m a pig in mud with a whole lot of real estate in my cabinet.
  8. Hot diggity that’s good value! I’d be on it if it weren’t for a recent change in setup and money going out to achieve this. I was hoping to grab one of these last year but grabbed a Hana cart instead. Still, this is very, very tempting.
  9. Hi @JPete9 someone local beat you to it and is picking up this weekend. Sorry.
  10. Hi all, thanks for the interest in these. It seems I undervalued these based on the high volume of replies. They are sold pending pick up.
