    Further Information

I bought these about 18 months ago I think. I tried them for maybe half an hour but didn’t like the closed in feeling so put them away in the cabinet behind the closed door and forgot about them. Only when I opened the cabinet today I realised I had them and should try to sell them.
One side of the box has been pushed in (not sure how) but the rest is as an almost unused item should be.
    Postage will be at cost.

    Further information:

I took delivery of these speakers, brand new, at the end of November. I thought they were going to be warm and fuzzy like the Harbeths of old but these latest iterations are anything but warm and fuzzy. They are dynamic with an extended treble (hence the XD I suppose).
The several reviews on line will tell you much more than I can about these speakers. The Tamo Ash must be the most exotic and stunning looking speakers I’ve ever seen and certainly has that wow factor which would enhance any room.
Please note stands are not included.
I may consider swap with a recent pair of Spendor 2/3

For sale is my NAD C658 which has been lying unused almost since I bought it from a fellow SNAer. Unfortunately because I am technically  challenged in all things digital I was unfamiliar with the process of setting up the Dirac and couldn’t even follow the owners thread so after two weeks of purchasing it I packed it up in the box never to be used again. So it is exactly in the same condition as when I bought it in June. Remote and mic are included.
    Comes in the original box.

To quote the previous owner: “MQA, BluOS, DiracLive, aptxBluetooth, MM Phono, Headphone Jack etc” It also includes the microphone and remote control. I am also using the previous owner’s photos (which I hope he doesn’t mind)

  6. Earlier this year I heard a run in pair with a Naim Uniti nova playing your type of music and I couldn’t take the smile off my face. A few weeks later I heard a new pair run by a lower powered Naim and it sounded very ordinary. The moral is it needs to have a few hours on it and likes a bit of current.
Amazing value for money with the right amp I believe.

For sale are my beautiful Focal Sopra 1s. They are in as new condition and the only reason I want to sell them is to go back to the UK sound I grew up with which suits my taste of music more. They have always been handled with gloves on so no marks or streaks at all.
I feel I don’t need to describe the Sopras because so much has been written about their incredible Beryllium tweeters which are as good as they say. The high end puts a smile on my face every time I hear percussion instruments like bells and triangles and brushes. Just very sweet and the clarity is phenomenal. And the bass is solid if the music calls for it.
They have a massive soundstage and at times I feel like I’m in the middle of a performance or even in the studio. I’ll probably have  seller's remorse especially at this price but it’s the only way I can fund another pair of speakers which suit my taste better.

Ha yep I did - timing was too coincidental! 😆

Sorry for slow reply. I'm coming from an amp with 125W pc into 8ohms/250 into 4 so I notice the lower headroom with the 1120 but it still goes plenty loud enough!  It's nice, definitely a smoother-sounding amp taking the edge off, rather than a super exciting sound.   I ran roomperfect and there was quite a noticeable difference for the better - surprisingly, with my non-ported speakers pretty darn close to the front wall (about 15cm - far from ideal, but practical constraints like on tv bench, small space, got a toddler so no cant do stands etc etc) RP actually beefed up the lower end (still clean sounding though) and improved soundstage presence, particularly for the mids. Was definitely impressed.  I'd never get another amp without some kind of room correction, going on that experience and everything I've read!

All the other functionality with the app/browser for settings is solid and reliable, and despite others reporting it I have (so far) no issues with HDMI arc with my TV (LG).  Breath of fresh air after using almost hopeless KEF apps!

And look - if for some reason it doesn't work out (or I come across a tonne of cash somehow, have a brain snap and throw it at the 3400), will let you know, ha!

Just seen this post. You still enjoying the 1120 ? I got sick of my Nova and the brightness. I kept blaming my Sopras but the dealer told it was the amp and kept pushing me to try the 3400. So I took it home and it made such a huge difference. It makes my Sopra 1s sound like a floor stander. Big and bold and warm. The 3400 has a few more tone controls and these are subtle but make a difference. I bought the 3400 and I’m appreciating it more every day and playing more music than ever.

I bought my Nova new last year and although I can understand why some people really love it (big, bold, boogie factor etc), it doesn’t suit my musical tastes which are more light jazz, classical and more on the soft side.
It is unmarked and never been moved since the start and still has the plastic film over it.
what I love about the Nova is its simplicity. I’m a technophobe and I use it just for Spotify. So easy. Great current supply and feels bigger than 80 watts but that’s typical of Naim. In perfect condition but time to move on now and try something more suitable to  my type of sound.

  10. I’ve tried both, the 1120 and 3400 at home. My view is that if you have bright speakers, the lyndorfs win hands down but if you have warm speakers or need something to bring sparkle and detail, the Naim is possibly the better bet. I have a Naim nova and both Lyngdorfs added a welcome warmth. The only thing I found was that it sucked some of the dynamics and brilliant top end out of my system so I stuck with the Naim. However, if you are after a lovely warm sound then go for the 1120. But you’d probably need to use it with a separate power amp because by itself it struggles a bit with just 60 wpc, unless you have really efficient speakers.
