  1. Hi I have a Lexicon 312 (made by Bryston and equivalent to their 5 B ST. I’ve given up on HT so it’s become available. Fabulous amp. If you’re interested PM me and I’ll give you more details. I’m in Melbourne
  2. I have a 20 yo Redgum 120 ENR with the Redgum facia putting out around 170 wpc into 8 ohms. It is still like new and in all those years I have had one fuse go and one mosfet changed. And it has been used almost daily when I’ve been at home. How many other amps could you say that of ? And Ian and Lindy are well. The great thing about the Redgum is that if anything goes wrong (highly unlikely) Ian will always make time to fix it ASAP (in my case the same day). Not sure what the current amps sound like but mine has great bottom end and has been described as sounding very tube-like. Highly recommended.
  3. Selling my fantastic Dynaudio centre speaker. I have had it from new and it’s been used lightly and hasn’t been used at all for the past 6 months. I finally decided I was going to reduce my gear and get out of HT. This is a keeper and end game unit for HT users. The sound of speech is so natural that it beggars belief. For normal TV it was always better than my Focus 160s and C1s. But the C210 is voiced for speech whereas the others are voiced for music so that stands to reason. I have never had the grill off until now, when I had to remove it to take the photos. You would not be able to tell it from a unit you bought new in the shop. it is unmarked and been sitting inside the cabinet until today. It will be packed in its original box. Available for shipping interstate at buyer’s expense. 4. Back in the day, there were only a handful of English speaker mfrs (Rogers, Goodmans, Wharfedale, Kef etc) and Celef were one of the smaller makers but highly regarded so probably worth pursuing with your project if nothing else but for fun.
  5. Hi Dan thanks for your interest and advice. Actually I use a small REL but don’t feel I need it as the Dyns go really low with the right music. I cut it off at around 40 Hz so let the C1s go full range. I agree they are very refined but need good amplification and, although you think they’re great, and you may well be right, I just don’t think the Novas excel with 4 ohm speakers. I have heard them with 8 ohm speakers and I agree they’re great. You may be right and I may regret selling them but I hope I can find something that’s more suitable for my purposes.
  6. Yes I think so. What Hi Fi use these as their reference speakers I think but they also use high end Naim amplification to drive them. the Nova is a great bit of gear and simple to use (that’s why I purchased it) but since the amp is a bit wimpy the Atom would be a better bet with a separate power amp (IMHO)
  7. Naim uniti Nova 3 months old. I think it would sound great with an 8 ohm speaker but just runs out of puff with the Dyns
  8. Thank you and they should be impressed. They are only just about broken in. I think they (the speakers) think they’re floorstanders 🙂 Big powerful sound depending on the amp. As I said my Naim 80wpc streamer/amp doesn’t cut it. Yes I am using the Dyn 20 stands at the moment. The contrast of the brushed silver stands against the piano black speakers looks really good.
