  1. Hey has anyone used a Manley Jumbo Shrimp before? If so, what were your thoughts? Cheers Tim https://hometheaterhifi.com/volume_10_2/manley-shrimp-tube-preamp-4-2003.html
  2. Hey everyone Have a look at this repair and review article about my turntable 🎵🎶 Mike managed to diagnose two really tricky faults. Really appreciative of the work he did. http://liquidaudio.com.au/kenwood-kd-650-overhaul-repair-review/
  3. Hey I've been saving for quite some time for a good seperate phono section. I'm just not too sure the SM3 as a stand alone line level pre would do a phono stage like the Chinook justice. So yeah just seeking some opinions on that.
  4. Hi all I'm thinking about purchasing a Manley Chinook phono pre but would like some advice on what type of line level preamp to pair it with. My current system is a Perreaux SM3 pre, Pearreaux 5150b power, Yamaha NS1000's and a Kenwood KD650 TT. Thanks for your time.

  6. Hi I would like some advice on what type of caps would you use to upgrade an SM3? I want to completely overhaul the preamp. I heard Elna Silmic 2s are worth considering, but I just don't know. I want to use high end parts.
  7. Hi everyone, Here is a pretty good review. I happened to listen to this PS AUDIO NUWAVE DSD DAC before and after the upgrade and what a difference! http://liquidaudio.com.au/ps-audio-nuwave-dsd-dac-upgrade-review/

  10. Damn! I was already in two minds putting it up for sale. After all the feedback I might need to reconsider parting with it 🙃
  11. Item: Accuphase C280 Preamplifier Location: Perth Price: $3500 Item Condition: Excellent Condition Reason for selling: I bought a matching Perreauc SM3 for my 5150b power amp. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I have owned this preamp since 2015 and I have to say it is amazing. Truly reluctant sale but I found a matching Perreaux SM3 for my 5150b power amp and I would like to roll the money over into a high end turntable. Mike from Liquidaudio performed a service 18 or so months ago and Jason from Revolution Turntable serviced and performed a slight repair on the phono section earlier this year. Below is just some of the work Mike did..... Removed pre from chassis; removed and stripped all six modules; reworked marginal joints on all subassemblies; de-fluxed boards; checked nothing noted. Tightened edge connectors, reassembled modules; applied DeoxIt to connectorsand exercised modules into motherboard. Also exercised exercised relay and control boards connectors; carefully re-torqued all parts; rereassembled for testing; fault remains. Relay and of modules outside the chassis. (10+ hrs) logic boards again removed, cleaned, joints reworked, boards defluxed. Reworked almost all joints on motherboard, soldered PCB stakes on topside of motherboard. All connectors treated solder joints on motherboard, relay board, logic board and module boards. Pictures:
  12. Hey thanks for the responses I'm still looking around for information but there is also next to zero information about compliant cartridges for the EPA-500 (501h)....... So one more question. What carts might be a perfect match for the arm? I have only found one recommendation online pointing to the Audio Technica Art-7. Help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Hi all, Has anyone used the EPA-500 tonearm before? If so, what are your thoughts and experiences with it? I have looked online for info but it's pretty scattered. Cheers Tim
