  1. If anyone has any experience with Lath and Plaster (and ceiling speakers) give me a shout.
  2. Further Information: The beast is for sale. M25 7 Chanel power amplifier. Warning this is a power house class A/B. 160W all channels driven - dynamic power, well over 220w per channel. Weight - 43.7KG x probably require two people to lift it. THX Ultra 2 certification. The THX Ultra 2 certified M25 is rated at 160-watts per channel with a rated distortion of 0.03 - All Channels Driven (ACD) simultaneously, from 20Hz to 20kHz.) NAD claims the M25 can deliver its full-rated power, free from distortion for hours on end. Runs cool. The M25 is actually made up of seven individual mono block amplifiers with each channel using a balanced junction FET input stage to eliminate cross-talk, resulting in exceptionally low levels of noise and distortion. Additionally, NAD employs a unique electronic ground isolation circuit to prevent ground loop noise in the system-a common problem with many complex multi-channel systems. https://nadelectronics.com/product/m25-7-channel-amplifier/ scroll to bottom of page to download manual. 3. Good points. I did look at in ceiling speakers MA Creator series and they look good. Two things made me pause. 1. I live in a very old house with lathe and plaster. Cutting in large round speaker holes would be very tricky. I've had a few issues just installing minor items where the plaster self destructs, crumbles and cracks everywhere. A friend of mine who's worked with a lot of this said you could get in the roof and strengthen it with coats of adhesive, let it dry then cut the holes (?) Still would have to get that past the keeper.... Having had a cursory look in the roof, it is looking like the joists would be in the way of an even spread/symmetrical line up of the holes, therefore positioning two out of whack. That would play with my OCD too much (needs further investigation.) 2. On walls/ceiling would give me the flexibility of exact placement, and if I ever moved things around - MLP, floor speakers etc I could easily rectify the on walls/ceilings. Additionally having listened to in-ceilings vs on-walls, I have preferred the latter. I reckon I could get to the penally shoot out with these. Happy for any opinions/advice etc. I would also need another amplifier - slim class D to drive the additional (min 4 speakers) preferably with XLR connections.
  4. Cheers, still doing some early research and I double checked the M&K very expensive. I thought you got a pair for that price but it’s only one… back to reality!
  5. Hi Don, thanks for the time and effort in posting these updates and your opinions. I really appreciate people sharing their journeys. I have a base of Monitor Audio Platinums and two subs in a 5.1 configuration and I’m currently looking at 2 or 4 heights. Was looking at the MA Silver AMS 7G or M&K MP150 or similar.
  6. I think postage cost would be too expensive because if the size and weight - you could get quotes but it would probably be over a grand?

  9. I wonder if they will release an AV 20 and AMP 20. The Cinema 30 price seems a bit steep.
  10. Check out my NAD M25 I’m selling, could be a great combo. Cheers
  11. Just interested in how it compares with the Anthem? GLWTS

  13. Bargain price - beast of an amp and as far as I'm aware nothing at around 7K+ comes close to it. Add a a basic AV receiver and use the pre-outs to the NAD. You've got yourself a hell of a system. You can also bi-amp (if you're feeling nuts.) GLWTS
  14. Awesome, thanks for sharing your insights and measurements. Fantastic.
  15. Awesome- thanks for sharing your journey. I certainly think there is merit in going pro and certainly bang for buck considering the massive increase in price for consumer gear over the last 2-3 years. I must admit when I heard my mates PA I was shocked how good it was for the price. Cheers
  16. Just came across this forum, nice. With the Lyngdorf gear, if you’re not using Voicing, you’ll be missing out on next level performance. The fine tuning you can achieve is phenomenal, and limitless in terms of preferred taste and genres. Voicing is the secret sauce, and I’m not talking about the very basic examples that come pre programmed but experimentation and using your own settings, as each room and accompanying equipment will be different. I recently listed to a Lyngdorf, Perlisten, Primare system. It’s the best home theatre system I’ve heard to date. That includes Trinov, which I listen to at three different dealers in dedicated rooms (personally I think this was heavily let down by the choice of speakers- all horn loaded) All systems sounded extraordinarily average.
  17. Some valid points - just wondering if someone has done this and the results.

  20. I have just listened to my neighbours new toy. An LD PA system he purchased yesterday. LD Systems MAUI28G3 Powered 12″ Cardioid Column PA System. Link to manufacturer website - https://www.ld-systems.com/en/solutions/touring-event/loudspeakers/pa-systems/#ref-anchor We set it up in his house and then tried it out on the street. I was impressed, it gave out some clear impactful music without distortion and at ridiculously loud levels (on the street with no room gain.) Now, I don't know anything about PA systems, but I was wondering if anyone has implemented PA subs into their home theatre system, and what the results and challenges were e.g. connectivity issues, integration, preferred models/manufacturers etc.)
  21. You can bi amp, which is how I ran a 5.2 system, but seriously more than enough power through each channel driven. Perfect for a processor or entry level integrated with pre-outs - Marantz Denon would be great.
