Oppo 103 decode to qutest
danrey replied to Ericcklau's topic in Digital Sources, DACs, and Computer Audio
HDMI to usb won't work. Seems you can do optical output on the 103, then input into the optical input on the qutest. Just need an Toslink optical cable. -

How about an entertainment unit in tasmanian blackwood with concealed sub like the Vaf Platform 2? https://vaf.com.au/collections/subwoofers/products/platform-subwoofer?variant=19932601477 -
Headphones for phone calls
danrey replied to sir sanders zingmore's topic in Portable Audio, Headphones and Desktop Audio
Is it they fall out? Theres some anti-slip silicone tips you can get for them on ebay that may be a cheap fix. The cabled earpods are hard to beat for calls. -
Entry Level DAC purchasing advice
danrey replied to Sterg237's topic in Beginners & Purchasing Advice
It's sounds great, but at the risk of sounding like a salesman for it, also has some features like digital pre-amp mode (can plug it into power amps/powered speakers), remote control, changeable filters, aluminium case, auto power off/on, usb/coax/toslink inputs, small size and looks reasonably good. It's hard to beat for the price, and the type of device you can put into a secondary use elsewhere if you ever upgrade. -

For what it's worth, I've been down the rabbit hole of changing dacs thinking they make a difference. Tried Chord Hugo/Mojo, Metrum Acoustics NOS, AudioGD R2R, Aune. The Metrum was the only one that was obviously audibly different, but sometimes better, sometimes worse. Now i'm just happy with the topping E30 which sounds great + bargain price. If you have lots glass, hard floors, you may be hearing the room rather than your system. So perhaps, try the best you can with the room first, then if still a problem, perhaps try some speakers when you can get back out to dea -
Further information: Selling this Mani I purchased from Addicted to Audio as I now have an amp with phono input, and I no longer need this. Has been barely used, absolutely no marks or scratches, so presents as new. Original box, manual, AU power supply included. It has various gain settings, and is suitable for MM or MC cartridges. Was used with a Rega Exact, and performed brilliantly. Please see here for more info: https://www.schiit.com/products/mani Photos:

As a result also include 90day warranty from Advance Audio on th
