I haven't tried it on MC but its pretty good on the MM stage. Note stock images, my camera is not functioning up to snuff. 3. Item: Bel Canto Evo 200.2 Location: Bathurst, NSW Price: $925 Item Condition: Excellent 9/10 Reason for selling: Bought the Bel Canto Evo 4 (run in bridged stereo mode) so this one is excess to my needs Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank transfer Extra Info: I loved this amplifier so much I upgraded to the next model up. The Bel Canto is a large slice of high-end audio at a really affordable price. Neutral, with a wide deep stage, I find it superb with almost all forms of music that I like; classical , blues, rock and roll and jazz. Can also be run as a mono bridged amp, pumping 700W in 4ohms. Image is stock image; I'm having trouble getting a decent image out of my camera at the moment. Pictures:
  4. Item: Micro Seiki MA-505 tonearm from a DD-40 turntable Location: Bathurst, NSW Price: $275 Item Condition: Average 6.5/10 Reason for selling: Turntable not working, splitting up Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank transfer Extra Info: I was told this is a MA-501 but i believe it is a MA-505, either way they are both great arms. The tonearm is a good working condition. As far as I can tell the bearings are fine, the VTF dial is fine but the tonearm and bits could do with a bit of spit and polish. The other turntable bits are also for sale, email me if you need any other DD-40 spares. The direct drive motor works fine, but the speed control is not functional. Sorry for the lousy pictures, flash not working. Pictures:
  5. Hi Cable is silver (i thought it was copper but i removed the rca connect shell and it turnd out to be silver) Im not sure about counterweight, i think it is tungsten but since i was not sure, i didnt claim it. Nothing is broken, nothing damaged. Again i was being conservative. I'm happy to take pictures, sometime in the next day or so, the table (and arm) are in my observatory so it will have to wait til i get out there. Regards Lars
  6. Item: Rega RB300 tonearm wired with ISOKINETIK cable Location: Bathurst, NSW Price: WAS $425 THEN $375 THEN $340 NOW $320 Item Condition: Good 8/10 Reason for selling: upgrading turntable, arm no longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank transfer Extra Info: great tonearm, no longer required. Note images re stock images. Note strange looking turntable is a Rega Sondek. Rega Planar3 with Linn Sondek suspension. Don't blame me I didn't build it. 7. My ears are too old for me to be a purist. Thanks for the hint, ill have a scout around Kind regards Lars
  8. Thank you for the sage advise. Looks like i will have to figure out how to squeeze better performance out of the PP3. Regards Lars
  9. Thats what i was afraid of. I have a NAD PP3 phone preamp with a USB out, but having connected it to my computer to try digital transcription, I'm less than convinced of the sound quality. Also the USB connection out on the PP3 is type B as is the USB input on the back of the Oppo and I'm uncertain if that will be a problem. Ive seen only a few cables that have type B connectors at both ends. Regards Lars
  10. Im not sure im posting this in the right forum, but here it goes. I want to connect my turntable (mm cartridge) to my essentially digital only system comprising an Oppo 105 and Bel Canto Evo2 amplifiers. Could anyone please peovide any suggestions as to the most effective way of doing this? Thanks in advance Lars
  11. That would be really appreciated. I had. Look at the 25, but budgets.....
  12. Thanks for the advice. Of course i sold my plinius integrated some time ago :-( I have a quad 909 at the moment, any thoughts on that?
  13. Anyone out there who owns (or have owned) a pair of Dynaudio 1.3mkii? If so, what amplifier have you found works best with these speakers Thanks in advance Lars
  14. Love the Oppo Ive got all my CDs ripped to a 6tb nas box, instantly available using Oppo via wifi. My movie library is next After that, maybe ill transfer all the vinyl. A labour of love
  15. Hi I sort of introduced myself earlier but after scanning the new member intros I realised that I have not described my somewhat simple 2 channel system. So here it goes Amp: quad 909 Pre amp: audible illusions modulus 3 Source: Oppo 105/rega planar 3 Speakers: JR 149 + sub All wired up with xlo interconnect I listen to almost anything with the exception of opera. I love the imaging and mid range voicing of this system, but crave a slightly more dynamic presentation. During the last 30 years i have owned/used some very expensive valve and solid state gear, but have ended up with this very simple setup. It lets me enjoy the music. I hope you are enjoying yours
  16. Thats some nice gear you have to play with, what do you listen through when you are relaxing and not working? Cheers Lars
  17. Hi I'm new to this community. I've been actively involved in audio for the lat 35 years and expect to be for another 35 at least. I look forward to some stimulating debates. Lars
