  1. Item: Apollo WT2 SE wall mounted two shelf Location: Adelaide Price: $200 ONO Item Condition: One brief owner Reason for selling: Renovation Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: See here, including pictures:- http://www.apollohifi.co.uk/p/wt2-se-tinted-glass?pp=24 New = £175 I mounted this and used it for about 6 months with a turntable on top and my Pro-Ject Box Control units on the bottom. Had to return the turntable (on loan from a relative), and am currently renovating so there is no room for this. There are a couple of small scratches on the glass (most significant one lower left of centre of image 3) which are obviously not really noticeable given it is mounted on the wall with units on top of it. This would be a bit of a pain to ship, so looking for a local buyer ideally, but happy to consider at buyers cost - will have to find the right sized box! (Blurb from site): The Apollo WT1 SE wall mounted two shelf module is a stylish and practical solution which every turntable or hifi component owner should invest in. By mounting your deck on the wall you can better isolate it from vibrations travelling up from the floor when compared with the usual shelf or sideboard setups. This 2 level rack is extremely sturdy and light and is designed to improve the soundstage and focus from your hifi equipment. The new SE version has an upgraded laser cut ultra-rigid box section design featuring oversized lower front crossbeams, so giving maximum rigidity. Four dampening gel pads are now included on each level that interface between the steel frame and glass shelf. These pads are designed to help control resonances that can effect electronic equipment by absorbing any residual high frequency mechanical energy. PLEASE NOTE- Due to the number of variables associated with wall types, wall mounting screws are NOT included. It is the owner’s responsibility to be sure that the installation of this support is completed safely and securely. All WT series supports are hand made in the UK. Apollo only use UK manufactured 6mm tougened glass made to BS6206A standard for this product. Pictures:
  2. Hi, Anyone got any good tips on mid range (e.g not the thinnest, not the thickest) reasonable quality polypropylene sleeves? I'm after roughly 500... Cheers, Laurie
  3. Hi, Just wondering peoples thoughts on automatic turntables around the $800-$1000 mark? New or vintage. I really want the ease of 33-45 switching as I have lots of both, and plenty of records that are both too. They way my life is currently I really find myself walking away or having to walk away from a playing record, so automatic return is fairly high up on the want list too. I've had my eye on the Pro-ject Expression Mk3 'comfort' version and also the Pro-ject Carbon DC SB (no automatic return, but speedbox built in). I already have a small Pro-ject amp, Pro-ject phono box and Pro-ject streambox. That said, I'm not locked in to the one brand if suggestions make sense. At the moment I've got an old Rotel direct drive fully automatic unit on loan doing the job... Cheers, Laurie
  4. Hi, I purchased these a couple of months ago thinking I'd be able to upgrade my old laptop - but the BIOS doesn't recognise the new drive - it was a major fail purchase as the Ram was the wrong type too... I've listed on Ebay here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161919422580?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Cheers, Laurie

Item: Logitech Squeezebox Touch & Boom Location: Adelaide (Southern suburbs) Price: $150 Item Condition: Reasonable Reason for selling: No longer required. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: We got married in a field 2 years ago, and tried to run a power lead approx 100m to power an amp and the Touch. Much to my great dismay as I loved it, this seemed to kill the Touch - someone said something about voltage drop? Maybe someone with skills can revive it? I've no idea. Either way, I no longer have the box, but it has the remote, the manual and the original power supply with Australian adaptor. As for the Boom, it still works perfectly, and although I no longer have the box, it has the original carry bag, remote, manual and power supply (although that has an English adaptor on it - you can switch the Touch/Boom adaptors, as you can see in the pictures). The Boom's speakers are great, and the unit makes a brilliant bedside/bedroom music streamer/internet radio/alarm clock... Ideally pickup in Adelaide - I'd really like to get rid of them together - it just seems so sad to throw the Touch away without somebody taking a look at it - if it's something simple then they're getting a bargain! Otherwise I guess I can get quotes for postage - buyer to pay at cost. Cheers, Laurie
  6. This one looks like a winner to me, ticks all the boxes... - pity you can't buy it in Oz! http://www.henleydesigns.co.uk/Carbon-Esprit-SB-p1131
  7. Would anyones opinion here change if I was to say that he is including a Creek phono stage as well?
  8. There are heaps of the Pro-Ject range that don't get imported - I guess the Aus market just isn't big enough to justify it...thanks for the tip
  9. Thanks Tasebass, Yep, thats how I'd been feeling until this chance opportunity - any suggestions? I'm struggling to find something with speed control around the $1k mark. I wanted to go all Pro-ject as I have some of their Box Control components already, but of course the Aussie distributor doesn't import the models with built in speed switch, and now the new models don't accept their little Speed Box unit. Thanks!
  10. Hi, Have been researching first decent turntable for a while. An opportunity for the above combo may have arisen...asking price being $1200. Is this a fair price? Are there any obvious/known issues with this old turntable? I note that in some forums PSU problems are commonly reported...I don't want hassle, I want reasonable sound for reasonable price, preferably with electronic speed control. Cheers
