  1. I'll be in Hobart end of next week. Are you interested in a catchup. Need any new gear brought over? I will be in town for 2 weeks before heading for the dodgy Northern end of the Midlands Hwy! Grew up a Mexican and always will be. (Tassie only joke) I'll be based in Austins Ferry, but anywhere is basically only 20 minutes away!
  2. Welcome Tony. There are many here who know their stuff and are willing share their knowledge. Which end of the Homeland do you reside?
  3. ...Do you have any idea just how heavy this Paragon is?
  4. No. Mine was a proper question. I have not hit the vinyl shops in a while.
  5. Is this not available off the rack anymore?
  6. Ahh - the handy kind of friends to have. Very nice work though.
  7. I remember these back when we were into FUN. A great amp to pump out the tunes, lots of body in the music.
  8. Yes, I find this with my old dinosaur AWD Subaru Outback, making it the safest car I have ever owned. In the wet, it can navigate roundabouts just as quick as when it's dry.
  9. ...Really? If I am on the road to somewhere - I only stop to refuel I am happy and believe it safe to drive for 12 hrs per day. I don't want a trip Melb. to Sydney to take 12hrs.
  10. I can help. Burwood is two houses away at the end of my street.
  11. No, you will have a huge suck out at around 1400hZ that is there to flatten the over exuberant response of the pepperpot. Great crossovers for any of the pepperpot models though.
  12. These crossovers are for pepperpot drivers - not ones with tulip waveguides.
  13. Where did you source the pattern material from? They are way beyond my scope of imagination - BUT I really like them!
  14. That Brimar 5U4G is a U52 and worth $350 on it's own. Very fast and clean DAC with pinpoint imaging when set up right.
  15. Ahh - a fellow two headed brother! After a 4 year absence, I shall be returning for a visit to my Dad, in Kings Meadows at the end of the month. Interested in touching base? Cheers, Red.
  16. Indeed - they are pepperpots! I stand corrected. I have what I thought were a pair of 3128s out in one of my sheds that have not seen the light of day in years - and these are tulips... Yes - you definitely want crossovers that have suit pepperpots. Sorry, I have no leads for you, but I see you are all over this on the Tannoy Forum. They are quite a helpful bunch there. Mark Short is the man to talk with there if you wish to make your own. Good Luck!
  17. Are you sure of exactly what you are looking for? What you have a pic of there looks like a HPD crossover to me. They only suit pepperpot Tannoys. 3128s and 3149s utilise tulip wave guides and are like normal crossovers. Head in the direction of crossovers for the Glenair model. Good Luck.
  18. Further Information: Full Disclosure here - I am selling this on behalf of a 78yr old friend. The deck is in my possession and I take full responsibility for this sale. This deck is one owner. Purchased around '88, it has seen little to no use, as the owner was, and always has been into vinyl. In March, it was fully checked over and recalibrated by local tech, Chris Mogford. Please see all specs and full report in pic. (It was given to me to sell back then, but well - ...I have been slack!) If you cannot find or afford a Dragon - this unit might be your next best option. Unlike a Dragon - these BX300s are totally reliable! There are ample glowing reviews by many owners, all easily found on the net. A 3 head deck using discrete technology, incorporating all of the good stuff from the top Nakamichi decks of that era. It has Dolby B & C, MPX Filter, separate playback and record heads and is original 240v. It's been in storage most of its life, hence the excellent original condition. It does have a scratch on the top, and a few minor blemishes on the RH edge top too. These are clearly shown in separate pics. Please note that the pics magnify these blemishes. When close up - this deck presents almost like new, with its original sheen/shine. Local pickup always preferred, but I can box it up super safe for delivery anywhere at $30.
  19. Tungsrams are much better to my ears than WEs. But everyone is different.
