  8. Beautiful sounding speakers in the right cabinet Chris ive got a pair in folded horn cabinets and they are my go to speakers for imaging and soundstage.
  9. I had a post on another audio site AK and they have a screw underneath holding the centre of the grill. Thanks Gee Emm and Antipodean Dog( will spend a bit of time looking through those links)
  10. I scored a pair of these Celestion Ditton 66 speakers yesterday and for the life of me l can't budge the grills. They are metal fabric covered . The images I've found of them shows some sort of metal clip at the top corners but l can't see any obvious clips elsewhere. Ive inserted a hook behind the grill at the top and the bottom to try and pry them loose but with little effect. Are there any stereo net members with first hand experience of these particular speakers. l don't want to damage them. I can also hear something loose moving around in the bottom of one cabinet which l do need to address.. Thanks
  11. Try the Evagroup at Yennora. cheap marine ply and other materials. A huge industrial shed full of materials, they may have something. Ive bought marine ply off them recently for around $40 for 12mm and $50 for 18mm which is the cheapest material l found in Sydney
  12. Jrhill has sent you a personal message(pm)
  13. I picked up a pair of Rogers Ls6 speakers on the weekend. Both tweeters blown. are these still available anywhere in Australia or suitable replacements. Thanks in advance
  14. It's my joke with all my Queersland friends.( They are a little different?) My wife and 2 children are Queerslanders and I'm an honorary Queerslander having lived there for 25 years working on a banana farm near Babinda and cane farms in that area then moving back to Mackay to work in a sugar mill for 20 years.
  15. Born in Victoria Mt Beauty lived in Queersland Mackay for 25 years now in Sydney for the last 10 years where my real interest in audio exploded. collected records from my youth but my interest really exploded when l moved to the big smoke and realised what is on offer if you hunt for it. Have made many contacts and there are several people that will have crossed paths with me in your and mine endeavours. Mostly into valves and vintage speakers now and have accumulated some nice gear. looking forward to posting on stereonet
