Going with identical (small) speakers for HT setup Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I bought these recently but prefer the sound of identical speakers for my lounge. If you're after an as new pair of new large floorstanding speakers grab yourself a bargain. They weigh 30kg so local pickup only. Pictures make them look small but they are 44.5 inches tall.
  2. Item: Marantz 460 Speakers Location: Balwyn, Vic Price: $50 Item Condition: Good for age, vinyl finish peeling in places (could be reglued) Reason for selling: I really have too many speakers... Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Vintage Marantz speakers. Little picture on the front shows FR is flat from 80hz up as tested in anechoic chamber. Super laid back sounding.
  3. Item: Grisham/Freedom 44 DVD Media Tower Price Range: Free Item Condition: Excellent with some dust Location: Balwyn, Vic Extra Info: I purchased this from Freedom store a few years ago with the intention of placing blu-rays in there. It doesn't fit them very well as DVD cases are a slightly different size. I'm sure there's someone out there who can find it useful!
  4. Item: Dali Zensor 1 Bookshelf Speakers with Stands Location: Balwyn, Vic Price: $160 incl metal stands Item Condition: Good some scuffing on one speaker *see below Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: These speakers would make a great first foray into hifi for someone, or a desktop system. * The previous owner used these as rear speakers and has modded them so they can be wall mounted. They have a big sound and wide dispersion considering their size. Happy to demo.
  5. Item: Krell KAV 500i with remote Location: Balwyn, Vic Price: $1400 Item Condition: Good *see below Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Extra Info: 250w into 8ohms and 500w into 4ohms. Has HT bypass ability on all inputs and can be used purely as preamp. I told myself many times i'd never sell this one on, but I recently bought some tube monoblock amps that are a better match for my main speakers. This amp was amazing for my Kef r500s which I sold a while ago. It was also a great match for my Q Acoustics Concept 40. *The amp has a slight hum that comes in and out presumably from the transformer that can be heard if you're right next to the amp. From my couch seated position I couldn't ever hear it but if you're sitting right next to it you could. It sounds a bit like how a step-down transformer sounds. Due to this I have adjusted the price. Local pickup is preferred as I don't have original box and it weighs about 23kg.
  6. Item: Emotiva XDA-1 DAC/Digital Preamp Location: Balwyn, Vic Price: $340 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank Transfer Extra Info: Have box for this happy to ship Australia wide at buyers expense. Very handy as a standalone dac to poweramp/active speakers as it has adjustable volume control. I included a sample shot from the net of the rear panel to show inputs/outputs.
  7. I think before you purchase the HD800 just know that they really do get to the point of unlistenable with that treble peak after a while. I did try modding them but was never happy with the results. I also had them running from a decent tube amp AND with a bit of eq. I've owned 2 pairs, one with early serial and one with late. I sold them both due to firstly to their recording-picky nature. The second thing that I couldn't deal with was the headband. Because the cups are so massive and they kind of sit loose on the ears, all the weight is right down on the top of the head. I really think Sennheiser should've doubled the amount of cushioning on the headband. I'm just pointing out all the negatives here, because down the road that's all that matters! Plus they are not cheap.
  8. These are insanely good. Anyone on the fence just get them. GLWS! (looks like they've already gone though )
  9. I second the comments by @GaryCook re: Emotiva xpa1 monoblocks. I owned these for a couple of years and they were fantastic. I kinda wish I never sold them tbh. If you don't want to spend crazy money and can get a good price on these you won't be disappointed. They will drive anything. I even had them driving 21 inch mach subs in my home theatre for a while lol. I also owned Emotiva XPA-3, XPA-5 and loaned a XPA-2 (all gen-1) I didn't much care for those amps by comparison.
  10. I can vouch for Ozcrusader and he keeps his gear in impeccable condition! GLWtS (you will miss them!)
