  3. Hey Guys, I'm assuming painting is going to be the most cost effective route to make my screen wall black vs black velvet curtains, given my wall is only about 5m x 2.8m I don't think I'm going to need much of it. I'm just trying to work out if I go Duluxe / British Pains / Solver etc route or if Rosco Black Velvet is that much better? If so, I believe it needs to be watered down? Do you think a sample pot would be enough to cover 14.2m2? Alternatively, does anyone have any left over they would be willing to sell?
  4. I'll go $250 sight unseen and can collect tomorrow provided they work without issue?
  5. Where are you located? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Sorry, just to be clear this is the cable to tell the amp to switch on and expect to receive audio and avoid popping, not the RCA cable that transmits the audio to the sub that I'm referring to.
  7. Hey guys, I think I already know the answer to this question but I thought I would consult the gurus My amp has a sub signal cable that can be connected from the HT amp to the plate amp on the rear of the sub. It appears to be a standard 3.5mm headphone jack on both ends mono I believe? Just curious if any cable would do the trick (stereo or mono?) or if I should worry about going for a higher grade shielded cable to avoid adding stray interference into the amp or a cheap and cheerful eBay special will do the job. Cheers v
  8. I would love these but I fear they are too big for my HT room especially given you really need to throw a 200wpc amp at them
  9. Thought I would give this thread a nudge as I'm keen to hear if there has been any progress on the kits as well! Any news Mike?
  10. Fantastic advise guys, thank you. I'm in the same boat as Xrcist007. I have a HT room as well so I just need a little something and this is exactly what I'm looking for. Dick Smith had a sale on tonight and I purchased the YAS-93 for $184.20. Everyone says good things about these Yamaha soundbars. Looking forward to picking it up on Thursday night after work Thanks again!
  11. Hey guys I've got a Panasonic 58" with speakers that are vibrating in the housing which have been terrible since day dot. The room is a larger Livingroom which connects to an open plan kitchen and dining. I don't have my heart set on anything yet but I'm in the market for a better sound. Looking for an affordable upgrade that won't break the bank. I don't have a budget yet as I don't know how much I need to spend but open to suggestions!
  12. Still looking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry for the late response, I'm actually away for work at the moment, thanks for the thoughts. When I get home I will give it all a whirl to see if it's actually the transformer!
  14. Hey guys, my sub makes a humming sound and it has finally got the better of me. It is now starting to annoy me. Can anyone recommend a cost effective solution? I don't have the funds available to buy a high end power conditioner but would a power board with filtering do the trick? Hopefully I can avoid spending a fortune, any brands to avoid or look out for? Cheers v
  15. That would be right! I just spent $1500 on a home theatre couch! I seriously have the worst timing lol
  16. I might be keen to pickup your Studio 100s if you end up grabbing these
  17. Yeah, I looked at a sound bar, have been thinking about that, maybe I give them Jamos and look for a cheap AVR with hdmi/optical and then I upgrade to a new LCR?
  18. Just as a the title says, looking for something cheap to replace the crappy ones built into my folks plasma. Otherwise any suggestions for new with a remote? Cheers v
