Saw both at Soundwave. Living Colour were just incredible. I don't think i've seen a rhythm section as good as that before, blew my mind.

Have seen AB twice now, once at Download Festival and once at the Palace in Melbourne. No matter what the venue size, they deliver. They are quite big in the UK, at Download they attracted a huge audience, maybe 30,000+ They are playing Soundwave next year, and while our over zealous security at festivals will make for a different experience than at Download, i'm sure AB will deliver again.

Boardwalk Empire is great, a bit of a slow burner, but has great characters loosely based on real people. Homeland is, well, just there, but seriously needs to get it's **** together in the next couple of weeks or it's dead. The Dana side story has had way too much time and is incredibly boring. Sons Of Anarchy is a D grade soap opera with guns and bikes, had 2 decent seasons, 3 & 4, but is now almost un-watchable rubbish. Vikings is well worth the watch, made by the same fella who did The Tudors, which is also good. Again, loosely based on historical characters. Apart from that, you have to delve into older stuff like Deadwood, which is brilliant TV but doesn't conclude or The Sopranos, which needs no introduction, or the Wire. Just hanging for the next season of Game Of Thrones.

I thought the final ep was great. It didn't leave anything unanswered, closed the series well. I think people get too possessive about some of this stuff. "It's my show and you didn't end it how I think you should of!!" Kinda weird really. Anyway, better than Deadwood, where there was no end at all coz they ran out of cash

I do cheats all grain. I buy fresh worts from Grain & Grape, then use different hops & yeasts to get different styles/results. G & G have a bunch of different worts to use as a base for whatever style you're chasing. It gives me great beer at about 1/3 the cost of beer i'd normally buy. We get to experience one the greatest instrumental rock guitar players off all time. It's horses for courses, I guess. I can't believe that people pay to watch a DJ or hip hop stuff. I walk away from a Vai gig with my mind blown. His composition, phrasing, note selection, humour, emotion all do it for ME. I can imagine some people being bored after 2 songs. Most people in the audience will be musicians, guitar geeks, that's the crowd he predominantly attracts.

We ended up getting by the security no problem and ended up about 10mt in front of EVH - so it was all good in the end Heard about sound probs up in the stands, but at the front it was great, loud and rocking.

Anyone else going to Stone Festival on Saturday? I have to say, i'm pretty worried about the organisers. It just sounds like it's going to be a mess. There's been ticketing problems, restructured seating and a few poeple I know in the industry reckon it's a worry. Originally, we booked general admin tix as we prefer standing, being able to roam about searching for the best position to hear the bands etc.... Sitting in a chair at a rock gig just isn't right. They have now re-issued all the gen admin tickets as reserved seating tickets and it seems we don't have a choice but to sit...at a rock gig.
