  1. Hmm, might see if I can give the Be2 pads a go as well then. Still DAC-less which isn't ideal but oh well!
  2. Thanks Neil - Zach recommended that I try the Universe suede as well (he says a bit more neutral than the lambskin but maintains a bit more of the 3D element than the Be2). So will give those a go and then maybe get a pair of the Be2 as well depending how I feel about the suede.
  3. Thanks very much. I've typically had brighter systems (eg HD800S with Yggdrasil and Ragnarok) and got a bit tired of that sound, hence the switch to a warmer system. I think at this point what I care about the most is texture and tonal realism with vocals, acoustic instruments, piano etc. I do also like hearing microdetails and clear layering / imaging (eg being able to focus on separate instruments). The Bifrost 2 was good - probably should have just stuck with it! - but maybe at times a little dense and laid back with certain details. In terms of what I like and don't like about
  4. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Sonnet Morpheus with a Holo Spring 2? I'm planning to hold on to my Verite Open and Pendant amp and looking to step up from a Bifrost 2. Morpheus is a lot more than I had been planning to spend but would be buying to use with speakers down the track as well. Any other DAC suggestions would also be appreciated. I'd probably just get an Yggdrasil but apparently the single-ended outputs are not very good and the Pendant does not accept balanced.
  5. Further information: I've had many headphones over the years and these are one of my favourites. They are so smooth and easy to listen to but they have enough detail and energy to remain involving. I can listen to them for hours without fatigue. The wooden cups are absolutely beautiful and the build quality is excellent. 6. Thanks Neil. Yes, to be clear, the hum is very faint and may just be a result of the wiring in my old house! As I say, I can’t hear it at all with any music playing, even at low volume.
  7. Further information: Excellent DAC which some have said keeps up with much more expensive ones. I've been very happy using it in a headphone setup with a ZMF Vérité Open and Schiit Asgard 3 / ZMF Pendant. This has been one of my favourite headphone combos. It's also desktop sized which is very useful. See impressions at, eg, https://www.head-fi.org/threads/schiit-audio-bifrost-2.914084/, https://www.superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/schiit-bifrost-2.8226/ Has been used for 300 hours at most. Comes with all original packaging and receipt. Will also
  8. Further information: This is a powerful tube amp made by ampsandsound in collaboration with ZMF (makers of the Vérité, Auteur etc headphones). It has a relatively neutral sound with excellent clarity and detail but maintains the body and dynamics of a great tube amp. It sounds excellent with my ZMF Vérité headphones and with other headphones I've tried. It has a high-z output which works particularly well with high impedance headphones like the ZMFs, and a low-z output which is better with lower impedance headphones. You can find details here: https://www.z
  9. Sorry for the confusion - finally settled on selling (hard decision!) so these are now available.

  11. Just posting another photo of one of the cups to try to give a better idea of the finish.
