  1. Further Information: Yarland FV34C Small footprint style. Bought this amp from another member a while back I used it for a while and now I'm not as is the case with a lot of my gear, it works fine sounds fine puts out a respectable 12 watts. The small footprint is quite nice especially if you have limited space eg desktop system. Sellers fee will be paid upon sale.
  2. I stand corrected I thought the 717 was on the warmer musical scale, apologies if I've misled.
  3. Older british speakers Rogers, Spendor's. Sansui amp AU series AU717 AU719 AU555/A just a few suggestions or the more exotic ones as well NRA series but those will cost you more as expected some a lot more or there's always tube amps but the little one might touch a tube and then the missus might have something to say about that I haven't heard the Denton's or Linton's but there are quite a few members who have them so they must be pretty good too. Aksa @Aspen amps are also very nice they pair well with British speakers very "musical combination" Older Luxman amps are also considered "warm sounding"
  4. Ok thank you I did find the ones you're referring to I'm not as familiar with the older models.
  5. This fellow does good work he fixed Sansui gear for me. http://www.thefactoryaudio.com/
  6. I would say he is a bit odd. Ian, I'm guessing you know who she is she goes by the name of Grimes a music producer/ artist from Canada fairly successful around the world (and probably a bit odd too).
  7. Is it happening to the other speaker to the same extent?
  8. Maybe getting close to Christmas people are starting to tighten up.
  9. I used to follow the Sansui gear on eBay and would see a few up for sale off and on they're around just less nowadays and getting pretty expensive by the look of it. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165233478043?hash=item2678aec99b:g:XZAAAOSwnShhuM6J&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoLmWC2m5Fq7njKOSr1vE2DMyBOrld5YOutLA4vbHD5lblPaBBz4sucN%2FKVI%2FicQS0f024BGk5VFXda5IZV3bbPDJlBB%2BaRobl33%2B8yMIJR%2FGiCvpuA4ToRNVnV7dOXT%2Btlay6W%2FGWSezDzAqMpJQ0zBbiFLf1vjnPa2cvRspzHPXvP%2BnMYN085k8pIarhHBWRZmzNQHA6HIQCqZ1hAVUfRQ%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4rq0b-MYQ
  10. Not sure if they're rare but I've got one. I haven't seen too many for sale either, like most Sansui gear when people get some they usually hold on to it
  11. I have no problem with retailers making a quid I wasn’t inferring that audio company’s are doing the same as Apple I did say other companies.
  12. Love that movie and an excellent role played by Rutger This is his reaction to Battys and your I’m Batman comments.
  13. Don't some retailers not get a say with certain company's they stock, I believe Apple used to set their price and the retailers had very little say, used to be near impossible to get a discount on Apple gear not sure if that's still the case but I can't see why there wouldn't be more company's out there that can do this.
  14. Harbeth SHL5- Most Sansui's but only if you want a nice non fatigue musical sound signature that you will never regret. Just Saying I don't have experience with the Supernait but I did own a pair of SHL5 for quite a while. they were best with the Sansui's also the Aspen Saksa 85 it was right up there with the Sansui's, there were a few tube amps that also paired very well with them Weston Acoustics and Magnat. Probably not too helpful a post I'm a bit biased towards Sansui (with good reason)
  15. Parts aren't usually that expensive apart from the exotic stuff, labour is where the money goes mostly, I think most techs charge around $150 an hour which some people would think as outrageous I actually think it's quite reasonable, I don't have the skills that these techs have I'm happy to pay for someones expertise and time providing they do a good job of course.
  16. I'd stick with the Spendor's just my own opinion sorry if this isn't appropriate.
  17. So before you get lost in the techo mumbo jumbo that the more intelligent members on here go on about no offence boys it's just above a lot of the people heads on here. I would recommend the Tortech gear every time I've been using Tortech to run my Japanese voltage Sansui amps record players for years without any issues, can't see why it would be any different for US voltage.
  18. Another pair of Harbeth's? Or better yet a pair of Spendor's I had both, the Harbeth's eventually lost out. I think if the "the black dog" is affecting you I would have thought your music would be essential to get you through the hard times it certainly helped me.
  19. There’s a fellow in Canberra, Bill at the factory he worked on my AU 719 did an excellent job and has a good reputation from others however I have no idea if he’d be familiar with the mods you’re talking about, techs are getting hard to find everywhere nowadays. http://www.thefactoryaudio.com/
