  1. These 6 records are part of my late uncle's collection which I inherited some time go. They are in excellent condition, considering their age, particularly the vinyl sides, which I have personally cleaned and played to confirm quality. Whereas the records play with minimal surface noise (see individual descriptions), these are vintage recordings mainly from the 1940s and '50s and therefore might not appeal fully to audiophiles. However, for any jazz enthusiast, these are absolute treasures which provide an extremely valuable insight into the music history of the genre. All records are mono of course, and are part of the RCA Victor's Vintage Series release of the mid '60s. Titles include: Duke Ellington - In A Mellotone, RCA LSA3069, UK release 1972, surface looks perfect, plays VG+ Duke Ellington - Pretty Woman, RCA RD7942, Decca London release 1968, surface looks perfect, plays VG+ Fats Waller - Fats At The Organ, RCA RD-7599, Decca London release 1964, surface looks perfect, plays VG to VG+ Django Reinhardt - Djangology, RCA LPM2319, US release 1961, one visible surface mark, plays G to VG+ Count Basie - Basie's Basement, RCA Camden CAL-497, US release 1959, some visible surface marks, plays G to VG Sidney Bechet - The Blue Bechet, RCA- RD7854, Decca London release 1967, plays VG to VG+ Photos:
  2. Further information: For sale I have 3 different turntable dust covers, made of 4.5mm clear acrylic sheets. The reason I'm selling these is the fact that over the last 4-5 years I've changed my turntable setup, going from a single tonearm to two, and then to a completely new plinth (the Garrard 301 was a constant during this time). This advertisement is for the partial cover 400+175L, 455W, 65H (this cover was made to fit my 301 slate plinth. Contact me if interested in the plinth as well - Garrard 301 not included). The cover is in excellent condition, with hardly a visible scratch. Pickup is preferred, due to the size of the cover. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  5. Further information: Selling MSB Platinum Link DAC in very good condition. Bought in 1999 (about $4,000 then), this unit has been packed in storage the last 10 years. I have literally unboxed it today, tested with Audiophilleo 2 USB converter (output from NUC music server running JRiver MC) and can confirm that it still works exceptionally well. It is in very good cosmetic condition. Features include: · Traditional MSB multi-bit technology, internally running at 46 / 384K resolution. · 4 sign magnitude 46-bit ladder DACs · Inputs: coaxial, toslink, balanced AES / EBU, MSB Network 192k · Outputs: line level 4V RMS 12vPP, balanced level 7.5 V RMS (20Vpp) · Sampling frequency: 1.5mHz · Digital filter: Burr Brown DF1704 · Dynamic range: 134 dBA measured · Noise floor: <- 145 dB · Upsampling to 24-bit, 130 kHz from lower sources · 16x interpolation This is a unique opportunity to acquire one of the best DACs on planet at the time, which still looks and sound wonderful. It is built like a tank, with an excellent power supply. They don’t make them like this anymore, nor do they come up for sale often. It does not have a USB input, but can be paired with a converter, such as the Audiophilleo 2 shown in the photos to become a centerpiece of a high quality digital front end. Can sell as package, the combined price for the DAC and Audiophilleo 2 is $900. Pickup is preferred, since the unit is very heavy. I can post at buyer’s expense. Photos:

Titles include: George Duke - Follow The Rainbow (Epic) George Duke, Stanley Clarke - The Clarke/Duke Project (Epic) George Duke, Stanley Clarke - The Clarke/Duke Project II (Epic) Stanley Clarke - I Wanna Play For You (2LP, Epic) Stanley Clarke - Modern Man (Epic) Stanley Clarke - Stanley Clarke (Atlantic) Prefer to sell as lot. Shipping at buyers expense, if required.
  7. Yep. Couldn't agree more. Beautiful workmanship, excellent communication, the whole experience was 100% positive.
  8. Packed away. Never know when / if it will be needed.
  9. Here's my latest iteration. Currently fine tuning cartridge - tonearm combination.
  10. Just updated the listing with more information - dimensions.
  11. Wow, you got me there! I just weighed the full box and it came at around 15kg. I'd say therefore that the plinth itself is about 10kg.
  12. Further information: Brand new Vinylista plinth for SP10 offered for the first time. This is from a project that never eventuated about 3 years ago. Too busy building a house and doing paid work, not enough time for projects such as this. Plinth is in mint condition, with two boards. One has a cutout for a 230mm tonearm, such as Technics EPA500 or Graham. The other has no cutout at all, therefore can be cut to suit any tonearm up to 12" length. Outer dimensions are 640x490x110(without legs) The board is 555x405x30 The quality of finish and thickness of the panzerholz board is significantly better than any plywood that you can get in Australia This is a rare opportunity to obtain a brand new Vinylista plinth - you will probably be aware that Martin Brenner has suddenly passed away a year ago, robbing the audio community of a true artist and gentleman. The internet is full of praise for his work and this Plinth is a prime example of his meticulous workmanship and a true testament to this remarkable man. If in this time of solitude you are wondering what your next audio project should be - look no more. Grab your old SP10, polish it up and plonk it into this plinth and you will be a proud owner of a classic turntable that is a joy to look at and listen to as well. The sale price for the plinth is less than half of what I paid. Considering the quality of workmanship and its rarity, it should be a bargain. The plinth comes with all original boxes and packaging. Photos: some photos are from Martin's bench in Germany, some are mine. I can send more if required
  13. Ok, sorry again I missed that part of the thread, I'm sure you mentioned it. I hope you have now sorted out all the issues and can get back to ripping. Cheers!
  14. I understand. Sorry if I missed it, once you've recorded your record, how do you edit it? I record about 6-7 lps and then transfer to my computer, where I edit it in Audacity. There's not more than a day or two difference between them, so I can quickly see if there is an issue. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but how come you didn't notice this issue until more than 300 lps were recorded?
  15. Hi, I just saw this interesting thread and can sympathise with the OP. I ran into exactly the same issue about a year ago, with very similar components, including three cartridges, Parasound JC3+ phono stage, balanced cables into Tascam 1000. Funnily, I concluded that the clipping / limiting occurred at the phono stage. As far as I can remember now, changing those settings seems to have fixed the issue. Don't think it had anything to do with the recorder. I admit that I did not investigate the problem to the level that you have, but to me, the source was always clear. Anyway, I'm glad you sorted it out. Cheers!

  18. I've heard both the vinyl and hirez file on my system and the digital one is far better. As per the previo6post, I also concluded that this was due to the master recording being digital.
  19. I'm happy to take all and then send the 2 spiritual lps to the person who wanted them. Actually have those two, so win win, hopefully.
  20. My pleasure. The value of these records is undeniable.
