  1. It sure can haha. REL look like a very nice range of subwoofers. I'm pretty disapointed Q Acoustic haven't done a subwoofer yet. I think their 3000 series could benefit greatly from having a decent 10 or 12" subwoofer
  2. Thanks very much for your reply. I reckon I was very lucky that it JUST fit haha. Technically any epson model similar to this would have the same limitations in focus and adjustments to screen size so someone was looking after me haha. Setup wise I went for something a bit different, i've had a variety of different brands such as M&K LCR750, LCR75 and SVS SCS speakers. This time I actually went for a set of Q Acoustics Concept speakers. I went for 4x Q Acoustics Concept 20 Bookshelf speakers (in white) 1x Q Acoustics Concept Centre Speaker (in white) 4x Q Acoustics Concept series stands (in white) I am running an AMC 25100MKII 5 Channel High Current Power Amplifier Surround Processor is still being decided. I am just deciding now on a SVS SB1000 or a Ricther Thor 10.6. This was due to colour choices that they were available in white.
  3. Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I ended up going for a new EHTW5600 and I must admit I am very impressed with it. I say that with a grain of salt, because I am sure it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea. Mainly due to the very limited Vertical sync and no horizontal shift. I went in buying it with all the facts so nothing took me by surprise and I would be happy either way. The only issue I did come up with was, I am using the widest wall of my room for the projector screen to fit in the 150" screen as neatly as possible. The projector is as far back as possible in the room and it JUST fits 150" on the most expanded zoom settings DOH
  4. That looks like a really neat unit. Great brightness and excellent reviews online. Good luck with the sale i'm sure it won't be listed for long before it sells!!!
  5. Hey all, I ended up going for 4x Q Acoustics Concept 20 speakers as well as 1x Q Acoustics Concept Center. I am thinking more on the Ricther Thor 10.6 subwoofer at this stage to match it up My only issue at the moment is deciding on getting an all in one a/v receiver or seperate power amp and receiver (likely looking at emotiva at the moment)
  6. Oh sorry I worded that a bit funny. Sorry I mean't to say the floorstanders should assist quite a bit with the mid range (since the subwoofer is quite small) I am actually making the choice to go with the Concept 20 Q Acoustic speakers with stands (4 of them) and the concept center with a Ritcher Thor 10.6 subwoofer.
  7. Hey all, I was just wondering what the overall opinions are towards the SVS SB1000 (in white) vs the Thor Ritcher 10.6 Subwoofer (in white) I am looking at these particular subwoofers as the colour matches very well to the Concept 20 Speakers I am running in the rest of the theatre. I've had a PB2000 before but won't need quite so much ompphh (trying to keep good relationship with neighbours haha) I do like the frequency response of the Ritcher subwoofer a bit more but the SB1000 would possibly sound neater in the room (lower volumes)
  8. Hey all, Been considering floorstanders or bookshelf speakers from the q Acoustics range at the moment. Considering the size of the subwoofer I think the floorstanders should help out a bit more with that low end range
  9. Thanks heaps for the info. The main concern is the equipment stand would be a temporary option to make do now. It would make teh EHTW5600 a solution that may work better now than later down the track.
  10. Thanks very much for the heads up on the specs. I must admit the ehtw5600 did match in well with the brightness and price range new that I was looking for. The main concern would be being able to get the height of the projector adjusted to the correct increments. The adjustable mounts I could find had the following adjustments - 400mm - 470mm - 540mm - 610mm I can position the projector on a stand for now if required which will buy me some time to hard wire it (will need to set up a power point for it anyway in the roof).
  11. Sorry for teh delay in my response. I believe it was an Acer 3d projector. I will check which model it as. Oh I would love 2nd hand as I have always had them in the past but I have OCD (medically diagnosed) and second hand products ensue long term anxiety and buying new definitely helps alleviate some of that stress.
  12. Hey all, For the first time I heard an Orchestra Live, the Philharmonic Orchestra at Bunjil in Berwick. It felt like it changed my whole perspective of sound and I feel in the back of my mind I would always strive (as many other classical enthusiasts) to try and replicate that in a home environment. The volume and depth of the different instruments was just outstanding. I have a feeling that replicating it with speakers and amps may not be affordable since it will be just me listening to it, and may be better applying it to a set of headphones and headphone amp. I once had a set of DT990 pro 250ohm headphones originally that I would just run off a A/V Receiver and I was blown away by the immersion of headphones. I would be getting a reasonable representation with say $400-$450 with a set of headphones and headphone amp?
  13. Hey there hopefullguy, Thanks for your message. I think I would be looking at $1200 max at this stage. I think I wouldn't mind getting new if I can help it.
  14. Hey all, Just looking at getting into the projector market again and I was considering grabbing a Epson EHTW5600 Projector I would love a DLP projector but unfortunately I suffer from the rainbow effect quite a lot and it wrecks the fun so 3 LCD is the best way to go for me I have had a number of Epson projectors in the past (as well as JVC, mitsubishi and Benq) including the EHTW5000, 4500 and 3000 models. I am working off a 150" screen with a distance back roughly 4.8 metres back.
  15. Hey all, Thanks very much for your replies. Definitely a slippery slope hehe. Finally got a house of my own so that definitely opens up options hehe I was considering the Klipsch Reference 5.1 Set as well as a full set of the SVS Prime speakers and a SB2000 or similar subwoofer as a comparision
  16. Hey all, i've been quite intested in the qAcoustics 3000 Series speaker set for a new home theatre https://www.qacoustics.co.uk/q-acoustics-3000-5-1-home-cinema-speaker-package.html I've had LCR750 MK Speakers in the past and a set of SVS speakers (the older range), SVS PB2000 subwoofer and a few other brands over the years. They definitely have a very nice look to them. I understand the subwoofer may not blow the house down but my relationship with my neighbours in a new place is probably more important at this stage. :
