  1. Brings back memories from the start of my journey a decade ago when I got a paid of GB1i's , such wonderful times and wonderful memories. glwts.
  2. Further Information: Solid Tech Rack of Silence 4 Regular The top-of-the-line Rack of Silence is the culmination of intensive R&D. The design allows for free movement in all planes as well as allowing for optimal and precise level adjustment. Fitted with the optional Feet of Silence or Discs of Silence this becomes the ultimate way to isolate your equipment from unwanted resonance. The Solid Tech story starts about fifteen years ago when Bjorn Ohlson, a Swedish engineer and audiophile, began experimenting with different suspension platforms for audio equipment. He quickly realised that most commercially available products did make a difference to the sound, but rarely for the better. Ohlson's extensive study and research led him to a better understanding of the fundamentals of damping and isolation of unwanted resonances in the equipment chain, resulting in the first Solid Tech platform. It quickly garnered critical acclaim from all corners of the audio world, and continues to do so. Ohlson bases all his designs on solid scientific principles, and the effects of his products on deleterious audio vibrations are easily measurable Bjorn Ohlson Explains The Rack Of Silence Concept: “Since the most degrading vibrations/resonances are those with low frequency and high amplitude, our aim has been that the load carrying structure should have a natural high resonance frequency and in a corresponding way, low amplitude at resonance(less energy storage and a quick decay). Since it is the form, size and stiffness of the structure that determines its natural resonance frequency, we have chosen to avoid the large physical structures of shelf planes, and replaced them with struts that have a favorable stiffness-to-weight ratio for their size. The resonance frequency of the carrying structure has thus been shifted considerably higher up, resulting in lowered amplitude. However, no matter what materials or concepts that the rack consists of, it is our firm belief that in order to obtain optimal performance, one must include effective isolation in the set up of an audio system. Any technique that does not provide isolation of external vibrations will only vary the amount of resonant stimulation added to the components concerned. It cannot reduce the level of baseline vibrations in the floor. In order to achieve an effective isolation and uncolored reproduction, there must be a freedom of movement in all planes, and the resonance frequency of the isolation material must be outside of the 20-20,000Hz audio spectrum. Our different isolation systems like the Feet and Disc of Silence as well as the shelf suspension system have at normal load a resonance frequency well below 3 Hz. This means that isolation starts at approximately 4Hz, which is clearly outside the influence of the audio range. It should be mentioned that 100% effective isolation does not exist. For that reason, our system permits and facilitates isolation in up to three steps. Namely, with permanently mounted Discs of Silence at the floor end of the corner pillars, shelf suspension and/or Disc & Feet of Silence for the isolation as close as possible to the apparatus.” "The Rack of Silence, Disc of Silence and Feet of Silence creates that perfect blend of a lively dynamic range, and textural ease and coherency, yielding a complete sonic image that is just plain addictive." - Stereo Times Specifications: Width:700mm Depth:500mm Height:900mm Max Load:2x 80kg Heavy-Duty Shelf 2x 40kg Basic Shelf Distance between pillars:520mm Max space between shelves:595mm (not including unit's feet) Pick up only.
  3. Further Information: I am cleaning out my excess stuff so here is another chance to grab some quality gear This is a true japanese high end cable , A very good choice to run between your pre and amplification layer. Its has a meaty and open sound to my ears. You can read more on its design and construction below, The build quality is simply excellent , XLR pins are coated with Rhodium and even the connectors are made in house using brass billet. The copper cable itself is 99.999999% 6 9's pure copper! http://www.acrolink.jp/english/products/6n_a2400_2.html Shipping AU to metro areas included in the price.
  4. Further Information: Hybrid copper/silver KS 1120 XLR cable. .75m length with original case. Good sounding cable . Excellent resolution for the money.
  5. For sale is my rega p9, comes with RB1000 arm with upgraded counter weight. Original weight also included in the sale. No cart included Decent sounding deck. Only issue is one of the connectors came off the arm lead wire today when I was removing the cart , this can be soldered back on easily enough. Ironically I just had the arm rewired by Kimil Electronics ( it had a break in a cable causing a hum). PM me if you're interested.

  8. Further Information: Previously the top of the tree at Kimber , using hyper pure black pearl silver. Current RRP on the 1136's is $6,500 AUD per meter. Yes you read that right, for a 1m XLR. The 1130's are seriously good cables and can be put head to head with anything at any price point. I am only selling this as it was slightly too short for my needs and my OCD kicked in and I upgraded all XLR's in my system to KS-1136's. This unit is now surplus to my requirements , sorry no case, not sure where it is, still trying to find a KS-1126 1M I had as well so stay tuned for another great deal on a high end Kimber XLR. The difference between the 1126 and 1130 is the 1126 is a blend of silver and copper and the 1130 is pure silver. Lots of information online on these. Kimber is held in very high regard for a reason and Ray is a bastion of the audio community. Serial was verified by Kimber when I got it many years ago. Feel free to check yourself, their support is excellent for post sales enquiries all you need do is send them the photos and get the serial checked. Great cables! that is why my entire loom is kimber end to end
  9. Guns and Roses - 1993 at Eastern Creek. They headlined the concert. 80,000 odd crowd. Un f'n real. Skid Row and the Angles backed them up. I was like 17 at the time and didn't even have a ticket yet still got myself in with my Gf at the time Snoop Dog - Did a concert in Sydney in the early 2000's , a true performer. Paul McCartney - Played a concert at parramatta stadium in the 1990's , still remember it to this day. Ict-T and Public Enemy ( Horten Pavillion ) in the early 1990's. Off the chain. Ahhh the memories. Mixed Beans (warehouse party) 1993. That introduction to dance music changed my life for ever. Sheeh had to really dig into the memory bank to reply to this thread.

  13. Macbook air >> USB >> MSB quad rate USB with MQA support. Also use a NodeX. Macbook to MSB clearly sounds better, more meat on the bone. NodeX connects via SPDIF into the MSB to its SPDIF module. Tidal high res upstream. Once i get the paint and carpet sorted out I will work out how to mount both turn tables, until then I want to keep it super simple.
