  19. It does justice to MP3s & employs some kind of DSP processing to improve sound quality. It is a bit of a PIA to use, the startup and wait times each time some tracks are loaded is too long. I use HQPlayer & JRiver MC exclusively for audio.
  20. 18Hz is the resonant frequency of the eye. Strong 18hz frequencies have been known to cause visual hallucinations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrasound#Human_reactions_to_infrasound
  21. You can control HQPlayer full screen interface via a tablet using TeamView to remote control the desktop. I have written a front-end to simplify Album selection and playlist creation using HQPlayer automation via the hqp-control.exe utility. I am in the process of designing a full Android interface to remote control HQPlayer, but that is a long way off.
  22. You should get a noticeable improvement with HQPlayer over JRiver. HQPlayer has a 30 day trial.
  23. They are not required with the newer psu's (I have a Antec TruPower 750w in my desktop machine), I just used them for neatness to avoid running a whole separate line just to power a DVD drive & removable sata drive bay. I have since removed all adapter cables and replaced with the original Antec modular sata power connector direct to the psu. I have gathered up all those style power adapters I had lying around and threw them all in the bin.
  24. This is only a desktop PC. No DVD drive is going near my audio system Luckily I caught it - was looking around the NAS/Switch/Router & UPS nearby as some numpty installed an Ethernet over power adapter on the battery side of the UPS when they installed Foxtel IQ. It was a coincidence that this failed within a day of the Foxtel install.
