  1. It's great to hear of possible local interest. As for funding the purchase, here is something for your consideration:
  2. We can always discuss the aesthetics of the speaker, as with all Vivid speakers, however the sonics will no doubt be spectacular. Price is EUR 450 000.
  3. Very impressive. Those Elrod cables are quite something as well.
  4. The Olympus Ten is Entreq’s bestselling grounding box, the smallest in their flagship Olympus line and the first using Infinity technology. It offers very effective grounding and I found it to deliver considerably better performance than Silver Minimus and Silver Minimus Infinity. The retail price for this unit is $1995. An introduction to Olympus Ten and a description of how it may be used, can be found here: https://www.audiotherapyuk.com/2018/03/14/entreq-olympus-ten-ground-box/ The grounding box is in very good condition, though there is one minor mark as can be seen in the last photo. It has been regularly treated with beeswax as recommended by Entreq and a new coat has recently been applied. I do not have the original wooden Entreq shipping box, however should shipping be required it will be securely packed.
  5. I have for sale the excellent sounding, well reviewed PS Audio DirectStream DAC MK1. This was originally a PerfectWave II but has been professionally upgraded to DirectStream status. It is running the most recent firmware, Sunlight. The DAC has two upgrades which lifts its performance above a standard DirectStream. These upgrades have been suggested by the designer of the DAC himself, Ted Smith and the details, implementation and reviews of these and other upgrades are extensively documented in this long-running thread on the PS Audio forum: https://forum.psaudio.com/t/modding-the-directstream-dac-mki/2680. The included upgrades are as follows: - Replaced the standard Edcor transformers with two higher grade Edcor XS4400 transformers. The XS4400 provide a lower noise floor allowing previously hidden details to be heard. They also offer a greater sense of calm, flow if you like, and increased realism. From what I understand, these upgraded transformers are what PS Audio decided to use in the newly released DirectStream MK II DAC. - JKRichards Overkill shielded HDMI and USB shorting plugs. According to Ted Smith, the shorting plugs lower the noise floor on the digital board by shorting unused inputs. These over-engineered shorting plugs are manufactured by engineer and PS Audio Forum member JK Richards. This upgrade brings with it many of the same benefits of the transformer upgrade and in my system the lowered noise floor was obvious Having owned a standard DirectStream DAC at the same times as this modified DirectStream thereby being able to compare the two, I’m in no doubt that the above modifications lift the performance well above a standard DirecStream. The DAC is in very good condition. The remote has two scratches near the PS Audio logo as can be seen in the photo. Please note that the unit does not come with a power cable. I do not have the original packaging however am willing to personally deliver the unit to a prospective buyer if in reasonable distance from my location.
  6. Further Information: The Qstab NSE is a CD clamp/puck designed by Jay’s Audio’s German distributor, Headquarter Audio (https://www.headquarteraudio.de). This particular Qstab version is intended for Philips CM4 transports such as those used in the Jay’s Audio CDT2 and Denafrips Avatar. The CD clamp is based on resonance theory and made from a bone-like material, designed and manufactured in Germany using a high-end laser sintering printer. The Qstab is endorsed by Jay’s Audio and can be purchased from their global distributor, Beatechnik, as well as directly from Headquarter Audio. In my view, this is a worthwhile upgrade for any CDT2 owner. It allows the transport to resolve even deeper layers of tonal color, texture and timing. This is the Qstab NSE 2019 version RRP is USD358/AUD521. https://www.beatechnik.com/product-page/qstab-nse-stabilizer
  7. I have for sale the excellent sounding, well reviewed PS Audio DirectStream DAC with Network Bridge 1. It is running the most recent firmware, Sunlight. This was originally a PerfectWave II but has been fully upgraded to DirectStream status. It still has the protective plastic film on the top cover and some air has crept underneath on the front right-hand corner. The film can be removed to reveal a clean, scratch free surface. I am the second owner. The DAC comes with its original double box packaging, cloth bag and remote. Also included is a new, unused power cable. I will consider personally delivering the unit to a prospective buyer if in reasonable distance from my location. Alternatively, it can be shipped at buyers risk and expense.
  8. Further Information: I have for sale the excellent sounding, well reviewed PS Audio DirectStream DAC with Network Bridge 1. It is running the most recent firmware, Sunlight. This was originally a PerfectWave II but was fully upgraded to DirectStream. I am the second owner of this DAC, which still has the protective plastic film on the top cover as can be seen in the attached photos. The DS comes with its original double box packaging, cloth bag and remote however no power cable. It can be shipped at buyers risk and expense though a local sale is preferred. I will consider personally delivering the unit to a prospective buyer if in reasonable distance from Ringwood.
  9. Thanks, Terry. I'm confident the new 3Hz stands would further lift their performance and have talked to Mike about this in the past. I have also considered a few other options; in my view there are now some very good alternatives available for this purpose.
  10. Further information: These were purchased by me from Mike Lenehan in 2015. I have really enjoyed my time with these, but the time has now come to try something else and for someone else to enjoy these fantastic speakers. Tasmanian Oak is a premium finish offered by Lenehan and I’m aware there have been a few of these manufactured, though from what I see only one pair has previously sold on StereoNet. They are built from solid Tasmanian Oak (no veneering) and the baffle itself is a 40mm thick billet. Each speaker weighs 34 kg and comes with its own, large custom wooden crate. These are the “Reference Update” version incorporating what Mike Lenehan learned from the development of the ML2 Limited. As many will know, Mike invests significantly in the crossover and in these the crossover costs $1200 in parts alone with 7 hours build time – the results speak (pun intended) for themselves. Speakers come with Lenehan speaker stands as well as magnetic speaker grilles. A number of members have visited over the years and more often than not would they gravitate towards these speakers - they really are beautiful. They are however much more than that, offering a very open and naturally detailed sound, with a very impressive yet balanced bass extension. They also throw a large soundstage and really draw you into the music, which, at the end of the day, is what it’s all about. The cost to performance ratio of these speakers are simply outstanding. The Herbie’s Audio Lab gliders seen underneath the stands are not included in the sale. Audition is welcome for serious buyers. Local sale and pickup preferred.
  11. Further information: French manufactured YBA Passion 400 CD player which offers a natural and organic yet detailed sound. Using the magnificent Philips CD Pro 2 transport and a unique blue laser, it is an excellent CD player and an equally superb transport. I have predominately used it as the latter. The 400 has dual analogue and digital power supplies, both required when used as a CD player though only one supply needs to be connected when used as a transport. I believe this last retailed for $8k. I have the original packaging though a local sale is preferred. Depending on location, there may be an opportunity to demo the YBA at a prospective buyer’s home.
  12. I have been inundated with messages, thank you to everyone who has expressed interest. This CD player has now been sold.
  13. Further information: I am the original owner of this CD player, purchased from Carlton Audio Visual in July 2011 following extensive demonstrations across several hifi stores. The Passion 200 stood out for me as it offered a connection to the music which the others could not. The YBA user manual uses the phrase ‘musical emotion’, and while this description can seem both vague and flowery, in my view it accurately describes the YBA sound. I found my time with this player so enjoyable that I later purchased its bigger brother, the Passion 400, which also will be listed for sale. The retail price at the time of purchase was $6k The CD player has a loud transformer hum and as part of a general service by Clarke Audio, this was looked into. The transformer was, as I understand, lifted to reduce the mechanical coupling between transformer and chassis. Unfortunately the hum persists though according to Clarke Audio it is louder with the chassis lid on than off. A transformer replacement or sound dampening options will need to be considered. Furthermore, not all buttons on the remote work. According to Dallas it is a common brand remote, so there are options available. Externally the CD player presents in excellent condition. The Passion 200 comes with its original packaging, a user manual, remote and power cable. Depending on location, there may be an opportunity to demonstrate the player at a potential buyer’s home.
  14. It doesn't look like a typical San Francisco tram. This system is located at a dealer in Lisbon and my guess is that it's a local tram.
  15. Further information: Excellent sounding PS Audio PerfectWave Memory Player CD transport. The transport uses a standard SATA DVD drive so should the drive ever wear out or fail, a replacement is readily available and inexpensive. The transport still has the protective plastic film so there are no swirl marks or any other marks on the top cover. I am the second owner, purchased as a lightly used item from the local distributor. Comes with remote control, which I have never used, and a standard power cable. While I have the PS Audio packaging, a local pickup is preferred. PS Audio product information: Features - Reads audio from CD and DVD - Reads high resolution audio files - Reads multiple formats - Displays cover art - Displays song titles and track time - Editable library of artists and titles - Bit perfect extraction - No error correction - Memory player - 64mB of RAM - Built in Digital Lens - Asynchronous output clock - Extremely low jitter - Outputs SPDIF and AESEBU - Outputs I2S through HDMI - Sample rate output to 192kHz - Bit depth to 32 bits - Field upgradable - Built on dedicated hardware - 440,000 gate FPGA - No computer motherboards or components Benefits - No need for a computer in your system - Take advantage of all the new hi res music - Create your own disc compilations - Easy access to all music by name - Always perfect cover art - No more disc errors - Never listen to optical mechanism again - Unprecedented performance - Compatible with any DAC - Perfect connection with PWD - Future proof for all sample rates - New formats added as developed - Quiet, noise free operation
  16. A nice looking system in an interesting room. The treatment behind the speakers certainly looks like organ pipes.
