  1. Hi all, Due to a general lack of time to enjoy my audio collection, I have decided to move on my ultimate headphone setup. This comprises Sennheiser's incomparable HD 800 headphones, a Lehmann Audio Black Cube Linear headphone amplifier, and a PS Audio NuWave DAC. These three components combine perfectly to produce a headphone listening experience that I am yet to find a better alternative. Located in Melbourne, Victoria. I am happy to discuss interstate shipping at the buyers cost. Price for all three as listed is $2,400. For anyone wishing to purchase all three together, I will consider reasonable offers around that price point. ** Special ** - buy all three at my asking price of $2,400 and I will include 2 x pairs of Chord Chrimson RCA interconnects valued at over $300 for no cost. I strongly recommend purchasing all three components together, as I invested a significant amount of time, money, and efforts in finding the ultimate system at a reasonable price point. Any new owner would not be disappointed These are three main components, including individual price, manufacturer's links and review links where appropriate: 1. Headphones - Sennheiser HD 800's There isn't much I can say about the Sennheiser HD 800's that hasn't already been written. They are truly epic headphones. I have auditioned the other big names, and the Sennheisers to my ears are simply the best. New cost - $1500 Yours for - $950 Manufacturer's description: More than 60 years of ingenious headphone engineering has been applied into the new HD 800. Incorporating Sennheiser’s most advanced driver technology, these open, circum-aural dynamic stereo headphones redefine what reference-level audio is all about. You will form an altogether new height of sonic perspective as you experience a high-fidelity natural hearing experience. Do take note that presently, no other manufacturer has been able to come up as close as the HD 800 in replicating the basic acoustic conditions of natural hearing. Matching these headphones' reference-grade audio performance is their striking and visually effective industrial design. Premium parts have gone into their production - the transducer is encased by a precision material made of stainless steel. The earpads are handcrafted from a high-quality microfiber fabric. This material is extremely comfortable to wear and easy to maintain. The headband and headphone mounting utilises the most advanced development from the aerospace industry. In terms of connectivity, these headphones utilise specially-designed, four-wire, high-performance connections. Truly, the HD 800 are a glorious success and have become a pioneer in headphone development. Headphone Amplifier - Lehmann Audio Black Cube Linear This headphone amp produces the power needed to properly power the Sennheiser HD 800's. With this amplifier, sounds comes out of a pure, noise free environment that is nothing short of breathtaking. You will not find a better match for the HD 800's than this amplifier. Check out this review on Youtube. Manufacturer's description: Already since 2004 the Linear has made all common headphones to shine at their very best. New cost: $1,000 Yours for: $700 Review on WhatHiFi - rated 5 stars - http://www.whathifi.com/lehmann/black-cube-linear/review Manufacturer's link (note slight name change and revised facia) - https://www.lehmannaudio.com/headphone-amplifiers/home/linear.html 3. Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) - PS Audio NuWave DAC If you don't feed the headphone amplifier and headphones with a pure analog signal, you will never achieve the best possible performance. The NuWave DAC connects to your PC or Mac via USB, and produces the best sound you can imagine. Optical inputs are also available and the sound is equally impressive. New cost: $1,200 Yours for: $750 Manufacturer's description: The NuWave DAC is an affordable high-end digital to analog processor. Based on our acclaimed PerfectWave series, the NWD accepts inputs from any digital source including USB (up to 192kHz 24 bit asynchronous) from your computer and connects to your system’s preamplifier with either single ended (RCA) or balanced (XLR) connections. The NuWave DSD will transform your expectations of what’s possible in an under $2,000 DAC. The added detail and space produced by the NuWave DSD on good old Red Book CDs alone is worth the price of admission. What makes the NuWave DSD so great? We’ve taken the lessons learned from one of the world’s best DACs, the DirectStream, and applied them to a smaller-scale, lower-cost unit. Like the DirectStream before it, the NuWave DSD produces a seamless 3D soundstage from even normal CDs. Hand-tuned and personally voiced by Paul McGowan, the improvement in sound quality over other DACs is astonishing. The NuWave DSD accepts inputs from any digital source including I2S and USB from your computer and connects to your system’s preamplifier with either single ended (RCA) or balanced (XLR) connections. Used with music server software like JRiver, Bit Perfect, Amarra or Pure Music and an iPhone or Android app, the NuWave DSD becomes your entry into the world of high-end digital audio music, both PCM and DSD. Performance is superb at anywhere near the price and there’s good reasons why, as you’ll soon discover. In fact, the NuWave DSD is one of the best sounding products we have produced in our 23 years of building DACs. Sweet, spacious and effortless, this device will bring the life back into your music and all at the touch of a finger. http://www.psaudio.com/products/nuwave-dac/ Final notes: I have boxes for all the components. It is possible to audition the equipment if you are in the Melbourne area. Happy to answer any questions that any potential buyers might have. Some images:
  2. Quick update, someone has placed a bid therefore Buy It Now has disappeared again. Looks like the auction will run it's course.
  3. Thanks for the heads up on buy It now, apparently it disappears as soon as a bid has been placed. I've resisted the item with a higher start price to get around this issue http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330951936064&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:AU:1123
  4. Hi guys, thanks for comments. If someone Interstate is interested, please get in touch via private message. I'm sure we could work something out, although I wouldn't send interstate for less than $990 (less postage costs) as it's just not worth the hassle and I'm not that desperate for the money! Regarding globe change, the system reports ~1700 hours total usage, I'm sure I replaced the globe around 15-16 hundred hours, closer to 16. Suffice to say the projector has only had one globe change, and that was well within the 2000 hours recommended by JVC. I always maintain my equipment to a very high standard and the JVC was no exception.
  5. Ok guys, I'm getting serious about selling my JVC DLA-HD350 D-ILA Projector. This was What Hi-Fi's product of the year 2009, the reviewers were simply glowing of its performance which I have had the pleasure of experiencing first hand. It's now on eBay with a Buy-it-Now price of $990, for which you also get my 90" screen and ceiling mount plus 6m HDMI cable !!. If someone from DTV Forum contacts me prior to this selling on eBay, I will know a further $50 off!! Pickup is from Middle Park Victoria. eBay ad here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330951866108 I'm on the second globe for this unit, which I would estimate has less than 100 hours clocked. I'm planning on using the funds to get a high quality DAC, something llke a PS Audio NuWave - if someone is up for a swap and has a DAC of this quality then let me know. Thanks!
  6. Up for sale is my JVC DLA-HD350 projector. I purchased this early 2010. Original RRP for this was $5000. Anyone who know's JVC projectors knows just how good they are, with extraordinary blacks, colours, motion tracking and levels of detail. This review by WhatHiFi on Youtube pretty much says it all - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7zJAa8Ffwk The DLA-HD350 was WhatHiFi's product of the year for 2009, as they say in the video review nothing else came close. Location for pickup is Middle Park Victoria. I will throw in the ceiling mount for this projector. Looking for $1000.
  7. Location for pickup is Middle Park, Victoria. They were purchased 19.10.2011 from the guys at Clef-Hi Fi in South Melbourne. I took delivery in November of that year.
  8. Purchased 19.10.2011 from the guys at Clef Hi-Fi Melbourne, took delivery in December that year. I think original price was around the $1500 mark. I'd be happy with $750 for this. I have the box/manuals for this ready to go. I also have a pair of Chord speaker cables currently hooking this up to my Krix Neuphonix speakers. Happy to discuss sale of cables. As stated on the Cambridge website: "The amp puts out an impressive 100W RMS into 8 Ohms and with two pairs of output transistors per channel has enough peak current capability to get the best from even ‘difficult’ speakers." This certainly had no trouble driving my Krix Neuphonix, producing crystal clear audio enjoyment. Info and specs on this amp can be found here: http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/products/azur-740a-amplifier
  9. As new pair of KRIX Neuphonix speakers in Black veneer. These are seriously as new and I have not used them for over a year. These speakers RRP for around $3500. I have the box/manual for the speakers ready to go. More info can be found at http://krix.com.au/P....aspx?p=44&id=1 Price I'm after is $1500
  10. Definitely looking for solid state amp, and would prefer black in colour to match other components. The Leema looks nice although I thought the following take out from a whathifi review was interesting: "Providing you don't intend to partner the Pulse with like-minded equipment, and instead look for sources and speakers that will complement its fleet-footed, detailed and dynamic sound, you can put a confident foot on the ladder out of the mainstream and into the exceptional" Is it comments like this that lead you to believe the Leema would complement the D15's?
  11. Hi all, I am in the market for a high quality 2 channel amp for around the 1.5k mark. I have just become the proud owner of a new pair of ProAc Response D15 speakers and need an amp worthy of these great speakers. Any suggestions/comments/offers to sell much appreciated
  12. This is a 2 channel system only - I'll check out the Weston Acoustic - thanks for the suggestion
  13. That is a nice looking amp. I've sent an enquiry to the seller. Thanks Dan for taking the time to help a newbie look in the right direction.
