  1. Wow, somebody buy these. I would if I had the space. GLWTS
  2. Thanks, really looking forward to when they hit the shops. Looking for a compact unit so will be interesting how the two will compare.
  3. Just wondering if anyone has heard the Elac Arb 51 active speakers. My local store is still awaiting a demo version but apparently due to the hype around these units are scarce and people are buying without auditioning. FYI these are designed by Andrew Jones hence the hype. They are an interesting design as you can add your own external dac.
  4. FYI here is a write up of the Spatial M3 turbo S that peaked my interest in this speaker. https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/stevefolberg.wordpress.com/2017/11/08/enlightened-engineering-musical-magic-the-spatial-m3-turbo-s-open-baffle-speaker-system/amp/
  5. Wow, amazing work. I didn’t anticipate that this type of speaker design was mainly for the DIY builders but it makes sense now. The local distributor - McLeanSmarter Home Entertainment has been fantastic to deal with but they didn’t suggest anywhere in Melbourne where I could audition them. I was hoping they were bringing them along to the Melbourne hifi show but alas they aren’t demo-ing this year. At least that forms a reason to head up to Sydney when I get the opportunity. ;-)
  6. Thanks for the advice. By all accounts the M3 Turbos apparently take at least 100 hours of listening before the bass improves. Apparently they are designed as such not to require and DSP room correction either. You are right to say that they are in the boutique category - I think I’ve only seen one open baffle designed speaker in real life before. I’d be keen to know if there are other open baffle options out there or if there is a super limited market for this type of speaker. https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/spatial-audio-hologram-m3-turbo-s/
  7. Hi Stereonet community. I’m considering buying a pair of open baffle speakers for a lounge room setup. I think I’ve narrowed them down to the Spacial M3 Turbo s. I like thir minimalist look and their 20 year warranty! Unfortunately I’m in Melbourne and the authorized retailer is based in Sydney and due to work commitments a Sydney trip may be a while away. So, who in the community like/use/recommend open baffle speakers? Is there anything I should me mindful of and are here any other types I should be looking at? Thanking you all in advance.
  8. I noted this at the Melb. Hi fi show. I think it’s that men obsess about this and bring it home along with women with other stuff. Both benefit from the outcome so we should move on...
  9. Hi Dave, Are you happy with the height of the TV, It looks a little on the high side to me. Also have you played around with the speaker arrangement by having the TV partially obstructing the left and right front channels? Although partially obstructed it would be best to have the speakers as close to ear height (when seated) as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Hi, Long time viewer now wishing to get active on 'this forum. Interested in pretty much all things audio-from vintage to steaming. My next project is reconfiguring my lounge room which will wall mounting my 46" plasma removing my 2 channel setup and aiming for minimalist but good sound quality setup. It's a matter of balancing my persuit of sound quality and keeping my other half happy. I'm sure this is the place to get some helpful advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
