  1. The turntable I have is an Audio Technica LP5.
  2. Hi all, I've acquired myself a turntable and some vinyl to test out and see if I like the dark side. At this point in time, I have no room in a rack or space for it. I'd like to get something freestanding that I can sit the turntable on just in front of my amp for the time being and move it out of the way when I'm done listening. Is there any sort of go-to piece of furniture that works well for the money, or should I just get a longer cable and sit it on my coffee table until I decide if vinyl is or isn't for me? Thanks and I promise to give you feedback once I start spinning these suckers. Tim.
  3. Item: Paradigm PW600 Premium Wireless Speaker Location: Canberra, ACT Price: $650 negotiable Item Condition: Brand new, still in box Reason for selling: Bonus with my new Anthem receiver and I don't need it. Payment Method: Pickup, Cash, Bank transfer Extra Info: As described, still new in box and happy to ship at buyers expense. RRP $999. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  4. Ahh good to know about the Primare - I just emailed them about that unit! Cambridge looks good. I was also thinking about a Krix Neuphonix/Epicentrix front three - so CAV might be a go.
  5. Ok, as per the title of the thread, I'm looking for your recommendations and why for a receiver around, or under, the $3,000AUD mark. I was pretty much set on the Yamaha 3080, having had Yamaha stuff before, but have had some negative feedback - even from Yamaha dealers *weird* - whilst seeking quotes for my new system. I've decided to go a HT setup with some long overdue insurance funds and will likely to be partnering with Paradigm Prestige speakers. I have no need for bells & whistles, it will totally be Foxtel, Netflix, Xbox and AppleTV fed. Simple, 5.1 speaker setup is all I will be powering, with the 85F, 55C and Dipole/Bipole surrounds with the matching 1000SW or SVS SB4000 (I haven't decided). I've been recommended a Marantz, the Anthem and I know there are other brands/competitors out there too. I'm after SNA knowledge to help me out as usual. I've only used the YPAO of Yamaha, but the ARC of the Anthem does look particularly enticing, partnering with the PBK of the 1000SW and the synergy 'supposedly' of the Anthem gear with Paradigm. Please let me know if there's anything else you need to know, would recommend or any other bits or pieces. Thanks. Timos.
  6. I had one of these before having to sell off my system. An absolute beast of an amp and highly recommended. GLWTS.
  7. It's the AT120. $549 - 25% if the discount applies. I've asked them, but haven't heard back yet.
  8. Thanks for all the replies and the advice so far. Dynomite have 25% off everything if you spend over $50 tomorrow. Hypothetically, for a newbie with no knowledge of vinyl, if I was able to get the turntable (new) and some black stuff for the price of $549 with around $140 of music, is that a good deal? Tim.
  9. I have the chance to splurge on myself for the first time in ages. My system (check out my profile) is a SNA donated performance powerhouse. Dad rectified some of the issues with my YBA amplifier, my cables, speakers and sub are going great guns. My local is 'Dynomite Records' and the have the AT120USB TT for $549 and I might be able to get some vinyl as well in part of the deal. I have no experience with any of this side of Hi-Fi - so please tell me to either rip my toe out of the tempting waters or jump on in. Tim.
  10. Item: 12" Jaycar active subwoofer. Response (in-house) brand. It's a bit old, but works absolutely perfectly. There are a couple of marks, the grille has some dirt on it - but It is a REALLY good unit for the price. It's no longer needed after my parents have done a new floor in their house - don't ask...... Location: Canberra. Price: 100 - negotiable. Item Condition: Used but in perfect working order. Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: a 12" driver with a plate amp and front ports. Tight fitting grille and working perfectly. 375mm W 500 D and 550 H. It has a reasonably heavy cabinet and is a good unit. Pictures:
  11. Item: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 Rugged Camera Location: Canberra, ACT Price: $150 Including Express Postage Australia Wide - Negotiable - I really have no idea what this is worth Item Condition: Immaculate Reason for selling: No Use Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer Extra Info: Up for grabs is a basically brand new rugged, shockproof/waterproof camera. Full HD, GPS, Leica Lens. Includes ALL original packaging, 2GB SanDisk Ultra USB SD Card and a really nice compact Lowepro case. Purchased from the USA many years ago, but I simply don't use it. I will include an adapter for the charger - which I've always used here in Australia. I bought it while on holidays over in the US and never really used it after the holiday finished. It is a really nice, solid, sturdy unit, with no marks. This would be really good for use with kids, or for around the pool, as it is12m Waterproof and 2m shockproof. The battery to me appears to be in good working condition - I tested it for a whole day and hardly used any power. Additional batteries can be purchased from eBay for around $20 - I have just looked briefly. The price was around $600 here in Australia if I recall correctly and I paid about $400 US at the time of purchase. This is just from memory, so please correct me if I'm wrong. I think $150 is a fair price for basically a new camera, decent memory card and a nice protective case. All original packaging and US plug adapter will also be included as per the photos. Feel free to negotiate with me, as I'd like this to go to someone who will make use of it. Pictures:
  12. I'll see how I go when this little thing turns up! I'll let you know.
  13. No worries. Did you try it with one of the little adapters that I've ordered?
  14. Mine arrived today. Sounds brilliant just through my MacBook. I've ordered a lightning to micro usb adapter - will this work with my iPhone X? I figured it would, but might just suck a bit of juice from the phone. Like this - for $3.30, it's worth a shot. Timos.
