  1. Thanks @anandpkumar. They are the dedicated KEF stands. I got them at the same time I got the amazing little LSX's.
  2. Item: Audio-Technica LP-5 Turntable Location: Canberra ACT Price: $400 + Postage Item Condition: AS NEW. Used for around 20 hours and then packed back up after upgrading. Reason for selling: I purchased this unit from Manny's Music to dip my toes in the vinyl waters with the idea of either liking vinyl and upgrading or hating it and selling this on. As it turns out, I love it and got a nice second hand table from the SNA network (thanks @rantan) so this one is ready to go to it's new home. It's as new with absolutely no marks and has been packed back exactly as it arrived to me. It cost me $649 so I think this is a fair asking price, but feel free to make a reasonable near offer if you see fit. Payment Method: Bank Transfer or cash on pickup. Able to be posted at cost. Extra Info: Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  3. Hi all, I just thought I'd share with you my experience to date and pose another question for the braintrust here. My AT LP5 is going strong. It's paired with some KEF LSX on dedicated stands with an M&K V10 Sub. I'm currently using the built in phono stage in the TT and am having a few issues unless I tiptoe around the TT when it's playing. I've chatted and emailed a few places and think now that I've got my head around it, some recent vinyl and 100+ classical vinyl from the classifieds here, that I'd like something a bit more extravagant and budget matched to the speakers and sub (lets say $2000, for table, cartridge and phono stage. I'd love to have some advice from you all. Thanks in advance. Tim.

Reason for selling: Prefer non-over ear cables Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: As new and priced accordingly. 8. The turntable I have is an Audio Technica LP5.
  9. Hi all, I've acquired myself a turntable and some vinyl to test out and see if I like the dark side. At this point in time, I have no room in a rack or space for it. I'd like to get something freestanding that I can sit the turntable on just in front of my amp for the time being and move it out of the way when I'm done listening. Is there any sort of go-to piece of furniture that works well for the money, or should I just get a longer cable and sit it on my coffee table until I decide if vinyl is or isn't for me? Thanks and I promise to give you feedback once I start spinning these suckers. Tim.
  10. 11. Ahh good to know about the Primare - I just emailed them about that unit! Cambridge looks good. I was also thinking about a Krix Neuphonix/Epicentrix front three - so CAV might be a go.
  12. Ok, as per the title of the thread, I'm looking for your recommendations and why for a receiver around, or under, the $3,000AUD mark. I was pretty much set on the Yamaha 3080, having had Yamaha stuff before, but have had some negative feedback - even from Yamaha dealers *weird* - whilst seeking quotes for my new system. I've decided to go a HT setup with some long overdue insurance funds and will likely to be partnering with Paradigm Prestige speakers. I have no need for bells & whistles, it will totally be Foxtel, Netflix, Xbox and AppleTV fed. Simple, 5.1 speaker setup is all I will be powering, with the 85F, 55C and Dipole/Bipole surrounds with the matching 1000SW or SVS SB4000 (I haven't decided). I've been recommended a Marantz, the Anthem and I know there are other brands/competitors out there too. I'm after SNA knowledge to help me out as usual. I've only used the YPAO of Yamaha, but the ARC of the Anthem does look particularly enticing, partnering with the PBK of the 1000SW and the synergy 'supposedly' of the Anthem gear with Paradigm. Please let me know if there's anything else you need to know, would recommend or any other bits or pieces. Thanks. Timos.
  13. I had one of these before having to sell off my system. An absolute beast of an amp and highly recommended. GLWTS.
  14. It's the AT120. $549 - 25% if the discount applies. I've asked them, but haven't heard back yet.
  15. Thanks for all the replies and the advice so far. Dynomite have 25% off everything if you spend over $50 tomorrow. Hypothetically, for a newbie with no knowledge of vinyl, if I was able to get the turntable (new) and some black stuff for the price of $549 with around $140 of music, is that a good deal? Tim.
