  3. I’m currently streaming TIDAL on my Aries Mini via LDS on the latest firmware running wireless. I’m having issue playing all tracks on any album via LDS. Seems to stop after track 1 or a few tracks after. I’ve yet to have it finish an album. Direct via tidal I have no issues so don’t think it’s wifi connection. Have logged off and back on to the tidal account on LDS with no success. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  4. Thanks Neo. I’m a newbie to streaming. I’ve got it hooked up via coax to an Audio note DAC 4. My amps are Audio note quest monos and M2 pre with feastrex 5inch field coil speakers. I had a marantz cd94 doing transport duties. The mini is brand new so hopefully it improves after burn in and good to know an external psu improves it further.
  5. Just acquired a mini to stream tidal via my external 16 bit DAC. Sounding a little harsh new but suspect it will improve over time. Anyone else with a the Aries Mini that can comment on the burn in time? Also be interested to know whether adding the external PSU improves the sound significantly.
  6. I have an old AN DAC1 that I upgraded to the old AN DAC 4 by an AN technician. I'm not across everything he did but the circuit had to be rebuilt, he had to source someone locally to wind new transformers for the dac, new tube complement and he installed moreblackgates caps than you can poke a stick at. Total cost would have been just under 2k not including the cost of the original DAC1. I don't have an original DAC 4 to compare with but from my memory of listening to AN DAC 3 sig and DAC 4 previously, the upgraded DAC1 has that same signature sound which I am fond of - organic and very musical.
  7. 1 pair. This is now sold pending payment.
  8. Item: Townshend Max Supertweeter Location: Glen Waverley, VIC Price: 550 + Postage Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Not Used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer, COD Only Extra Info: Silver version. Pictures: Will load some pictures up tonight.
  9. Item: Bakoon AMP 11R Location: Glen Waverley, VIC Price: 2750 + Postage (Negotiable) Item Condition: 8/10 (small nick on the back of the power supply. See last pic) Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT Extra Info: I recently purchased this amp from Krispy Audio as I have always wanted to try a low powered solid state amp with my Feastrex speakers. This is easily the best solid state amplifier I have heard on my system. It is close but can't quite match the midrange of my SET amp. It bests my SET in detail, timing and top end extension and has a 'lit up' quality which I read in reviews but did not quite understand until I heard it myself. The only way I can describe it is it is similar to listening to speakers with and without grills....the Bakoon opens up everything without sound harsh or bright. Unfortunately, I can't justify keeping both amps and one has to go. Pictures:
  10. Cichlabxr, shipping was approx $240. If you buy from them don't forget to factor in a step down transformer if you plan on actually using what you've bought. Most of the gear is Jap spec 100v. My first purchase from these guys but they were quick to respond and other feedback about them was positive.
  11. Just purchased a 2nd hand CD player to add to my collection that won't see any use. I have had similar urges over the last few years but managed to control myself until I saw this last week: http://www.hifido.co.jp/KW/G/P0/A10/E/10-10/S0/C14-82130-15133-00 This hifido site is bad news for recovering upgradeholics like myself!
  12. If I had the money I would get the Braten 1000. Built to order - same BBQ Obama gave to David Cameron as a present http://grillsandcookers.com/products/braten-1000 Built to last and has a handy lever to grill argentinian style
  13. Of the female jazz vocalists still performing, Carol Sloane would be right up there. Not technically female but a male jazz vocalist with an unusually high contralto voice that could be mistaken for female vocalist is Jimmy Scott. An acquired taste for some, but highly recommended. Was a favourite singer of Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson & Dinah Washington.
