  2. Further information: The Musette is in a silver finish. Metrum are a proponent of R2R, hence devout dislikers of Delta-Sigma conversion. They've relied on industrial chips from outside hifi to need serious glue-logic coding before they interface with audio signal. With up to 384kHz acceptance, noise better than -144dB relative to 2Vrms, channel separation of 100dB across the bandwidth, the Musette is a thoroughly modern DAC. The compact 19 x 6 x 24.5cm WxHxD box weighs 2kg, includes a small 15VA transformer, draws 5 watts in use and offers 1 x Toslink, 2 x coax and 1 x USB with RCA output.
  3. The general consensus is that the VA 101 exhibits high resolution with total control even over larger drivers, with a very low noise floor...& great musicality. I know of members on SNA who use it with speakers with accuton drivers [Gauder Akoustik & Marten], transmission line speakers [PMC Twentyfive.26], & Vivid Audio B1 [with fibre-loaded polymer complex & vented cabinet] Apparently it is “high bias AB amp,” so the first 12 watts per channel are in full Class -A mode." Speakers used in reviews include: Focal Stella Utopia EM, Raidho D1.1, & GamuT Zodiac Re
  4. This is very well regarded & @ your price point...VITUS Audio 101 MkI
  5. H is for Happy Mondays, ...formed in Salford, Manchester (UK) in 1980. The band's original line-up was Shaun Ryder (vocals), his brother Paul Ryder (bass), Mark Day (guitar), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Gary Whelan (drums). Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer/percussionist. Rowetta joined the band as a vocalist in 1990. The group's work bridged the Manchester independent rock music of the 1980s and the emerging UK rave scene, drawing influence from funk, house, and psychedelia to pioneer the Madchester sound. They experienced their commercial peak with the relea

  7. The S4700 is a floor-standing 3-way high-performance loudspeaker built upon the same professional-grade technology used in the acclaimed Project K2 S9900, one of the most advanced and sophisticated loudspeakers in the world today. At its foundation, the S4700 uses an all-new cast-frame 15-inch woofer (2216Nd) with a powerful dual 3-inch voice coil and neodymium motor structure for outstanding balance with the horn-loaded compression drivers. Mid- and high-frequencies are reproduced by a pair of titanium diaphragm compression drivers and a single-piece, SonoGlass® dual horn assembly.
  8. The amplifiers from Edge Electronic (founded 1987) in the U.S. would fall into this category....consider the NL Reference monoblocks which are Edge Electronics' statement amplifiers. These 800 watt, weigh 440kg mono-blocks are very high voltage, very high current output amplifiers which output 800 Watts per channel @ 8 Ohms; 1600 Watts per channel @ 4 Ohms; 3200 Watts per channel @ 2...did I hear someone mention the Tower of Babel?

  12. North by Northwest is a 1959 American thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James Mason. The screenplay was by Ernest Lehman, who wanted to write "the Hitchcock picture to end all Hitchcock pictures". North by Northwest is a tale of mistaken identity, with an innocent man pursued across the United States by agents of a mysterious organization trying to prevent him from blocking their plan to smuggle out microfilm which contains government secrets. This is one of several Hitchcock films which feature a music score by Bernard Herrmann and an o
  13. Hearing loss: early signs of damage in young adults who regularly attend loud clubs and concerts While the link between noise exposure and hearing loss is well known, it’s possible that the extent of hearing damage from noise exposure has been underestimated. This is because very subtle hearing damage can occur which is not detectable by pure-tone audiometry – the most commonly used hearing test by audiologists. This test measures our ability to detect very quiet sounds in a quiet environment. Most amplified concerts exceed 100 decibels – meaning we shouldn’t be exposed to this level o
  14. Great amp, (i'm biased of course)...& I have used speakers from PMC, JBL, Linn, Tannoy, & Unison Research (yes they make speakers, not just amps). Able to handle them all (some had better synergy of course than others), but all were musical & the L507uX was always in control...
  15. The Sennheiser RS 165 is what my partner uses, & when I have tried them they are quite comfortable & allow analog or digital connections to your TV (a lot of wireless headphones only have digital inputs). Also easy to use, press one button...
