  1. Excellent, I've just recently started cataloging my collection so this couldn't have come at a better time (for me)!
  2. Just got tickets for the Perth show Should be great hopefully going on past performances.
  3. I've recently started cataloging my vinyl in Discogs too and use the manually searching mode so the above tips will no doubt come in handy. I'm finding it quite therapeutic at this point. Like Metal Beat, I am finding a few forgotten gems as well as the odd 'why the hell do I own this?'
  4. Fat Shan's on Barrack Street (near the 60 bus stop) has a mixture of new and second hand. There's also a place on William street just before the horse-shoe bridge and next to the Heath Ledger theatre thingy which sells second hand records (as well as second hand furniture and stuff). Had some ok stuff when I went a while back, though the prices and condition were a bit ambitious in my view. Noise pollution is on the corner of William and Aberdeen streets.
  5. Same here. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago as i was worried something had gone awry, but they just said it had been delayed and offered a refund if I didn't want to wait any longer. I'm going to hang in there though.
  6. To be fair, I am a fairly recent convert to the church of Bob so Mrs T gets a pass on this one .
  7. Hi Russ I got the original mono recordings pretty recently. Its a nice package and the quality of the recordings is really good in my view. The vinyl is nice and flat and there is no surface noise at all with any of the albums in the box set I received. The only downside for me is the Mrs isn't a Dylan fan which limits how often they get a spin (otherwise the records are accompanied by a persistant whining noise).
  8. Not Kubrick the highly respected film dude, rather Kubrick the Japanese toy figures: My Nerdiness knows no shame!! Apologies for the thread derail.
  9. To be fair, I guess they are marketed more as a collectable. If I liked the White Stripes more I'd probably spring for em, they would go well next to my Star Wars figures and Kubrick collectables...oh god did I really admit that .
  10. Muchas Gracias Tobes, food for thought. From your descriptions I might fare better with the C7s as I don't think I could have the speakers as far into the room as you have yours (my room would also be smaller than yours judging by your pics).
  11. Hi Tobes They look great. Do you notice much difference in the lower frequencies or dynamics given the smaller cabinet volume of the 30.1s to the C7s? I am currently umming and ahhing about which model to go for when I have the cash saved so any insight from someone who has tried both would be greatly appreciated. Mr T
  12. Must be someting in the atmosphere here in WA. On a similar bent, today I have been listening mostly to: Moon Duo - Circles Spacemen 3 - Sound of Confusion Loop - Heaven's End
  13. Hi Matt I have had a Bel Canto S300iu integrated amp for a while now, which has a built in USB DAC and H/T bypass. It is a 'Class D' amp. Opinions on the Bel Canto gear are divided, but I'm pleased with it. I haven't compared the DAC to an external one, but I don't really feel that I'm missing out with regards to the sound quality (running iTunes through 'bitperfect' into the DAC via USB). I also use the H/T bypass frequently as I have it connected to my AVR and powering the front L&R speakers and it is a handy feature to have. No doubt you could get better performance and the ability to tailor to your tastes with a separate DAC, but there is something to be said for having all the features in the one package. Hope that helps. Mr T
  14. There were certainly quite a few folks waiting to flick through the stalls when I was there (I went quite early). So many that I couldn't be arsed waiting to check everything out as I'm not much one for crowded spaces. Personally, I didn't grab any bargains as such (Like Mr Wolster), but did get a few decent records for decent prices. It would be good if it became a regular event.
  15. Ooh lovely, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how the M30.1 compare to the C7's when you get the chance.
