  1. Aaaaaand sold. Donation will be made to this excellent forum. Thank you linesmen, thank you ballboys.
  2. Thanks jt, and hello to a fellow Performance owner. I also love how this table looks - unfussy and elegant. And I love the thick and yummy platter and the way it floats on the magnets. Spins for ever if you give it a nudge without the belt on.
  3. Thanks Mr L. No not giving up vinyl completely - too much of it in the shelves! But yes the Technics and my old Linn Axis will serve me well and the funds from this can go towards... well, not quite sure yet! Will check Radio Paradise
  4. Thanks joz. Yes I know - sorry about that - hit return accidentally and it posted after I had written the title. *slaps forehead*
  5. Item: Clearaudio Performance SE Turntable with Satisfy tonearm and brand new, re-tipped Clearuadio Maestro cartridge, plus Clearaudio Perspex Cover. Location: Melbourne Price: $2600 Item Condition: Used but in very good condition Reason for selling: I've caught the streaming disease. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD only. I would prefer not to ship as there are multiple boxes (with the perspex cover). Extra Info: Yes, after around 8 years of faithful service, I’m finally selling this terrific table because I’m just not playing records that much these days, and it’s an injustice to see this unit sitting there, begging for vinyl. For those of you who may not know the Clearaudio brand - this is a very, very nice unit from a highly respected manufacturer. The Performance was updated a few years ago, but this still holds its own wonderfully. Some nice reviews can be found here: https://www.whathifi.com/clearaudio/performance-se/review https://www.techradar.com/au/reviews/audio-visual/hi-fi-and-audio/turntables/clearaudio-performance-102055/review As for the Maestro Cartridge, I love it. Interesting story about this one. I had it on the table for a couple of years and then one day did the stupid thing of knocking the cantilever - breaking it. Heartbroken, I chose to go the Six Million Dollar Man route (We can rebuild him, stronger, faster, better than before!) by having it re-tipped by Peter Ledermann at Soundsmith.com wth a Ruby Cantilever with Nude Contact Line stylus - the benefits which you can read here. https://sound-smith.com/options-cantilever-and-stylus-shapes The thing is, I never got around to putting it on because I was so happy with my Ortofon Black which I used while the Maestro was being rebuilt. So the buyer gets a brand new cartridge with zero hours on it. As I said, I just love the music this unit makes. You can read my early review of this table around the time that I purchased it here: https://www.stereo.net.au/forums/topic/18610-bunyips-boudoir/page/5/ Some things to know. Around the time that I decided to sell this table, I cracked the perspex cover. Bloody typical. I’ve included some shots of the crack which you can only see from the side, not from the front. But still, it’s there so I’ve priced this sale accordingly. Also, I’ve noticed in the cooler months, the tonearm takes longer to lower when using the lever. It appears that the lubricant in the lift assembly can lose a bit of viscosity and stick a bit. It just takes a gentle press on the lift platform to loosen up. I actually manually and raise the tonearm anyway so it’s never proven to be a problem for me. And, the record weight in the photos is not for sale. I'v taken good care of this table, and it's been in a smoke free household the whole time and I have all the original boxes, packaging and accessories (tools, spare belt etc). Other than that - this is a top class table that I’ll be sad to see go, but will be happy to see it go to a good home. Happy to answer any questions.
  6. Price drop. Surely there’s a tinkerer out there who could get this unit singing again?
  7. Item: Sansui SC-330O Cassette Deck Location: Malvern East, Victoria Price: $180 $130 Item Condition: Used Reason for selling: Belts need replacing and I can't be arsed. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bough this off another SNA member a few years back, initially to put in my shed system, but it was so good looking I stuck it in my main system. However I just never played my old tapes. Last time I went to use it, it was running a bit dodgy - so reckon it's the belts. Other than that, all works. So I'm thinking a good unit for someone to give some love to. The timber finish on it is beautiful.
  8. Item: AKG 701 HEadphones Location: Malvern East, Victoria Price: $180 Item Condition: Used, but good condition Reason for selling: Too many headphones! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Hi there, I've had these for a few years now, and they're a great headphone for the price. I also found them to be very comfortable. But I recently upgraded to some Senheisser HD800s so these just don't get a look in any more. Sad to see them sitting there going unplayed, so here they are! I just realised the photos make it look like there is no cable, but indeed there is, it's a nice long one. Original packaging included but not the stand I'm afraid. Although to be honest it was crap and i never used it. Photos:
  9. Hey, thanks @treuben and @Yamaha_man (hi by the way, long time no see) - and I agree, holds its own with some pretty top gear. Cheers fellas.
  10. Item: Ray Samuels Nighthawk F117 Phono Amp Location: Melbourne Price: $500 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Downscaling my gear collection Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Hi there, After several years of loyal service, I am reluctantly moving this excellent amp on. I don't think I need to speak to much about the quality of this piece equipment - it's bloody awesome. This particular unit is in great condition, has been used minimally in a smoke free home. Battery feels like it's still holding it's charge like the day I bought it. Happy to answer any questions. Oh, I realise I forgot to photograph the Charging unit! But don't worry, I have it. And if you really need a photo of it I'm willing to break my back bending over the back of my hi-fi shelves, battle my way through the deadly tangle of cables, and retrieve it for a photo shoot. Actually, I have to do that anyway for when it's sold, so I suppose I should just man up and do it now.... Photos:
  11. One of the most gorgeous looking amps I’ve seen for a long time. Good luck with the sale and dealing with it’s departute.
  12. And this is why I love SNA so much. Generous offer. Have a great and safe drive.
  13. We're doing a reno of the living room and I'm using this as an opportunity to simplify my whole audio setup. So out with the amp and old speakers and in with a pair of these. Hopefully.
  14. As a fellow Luxman owner I gotta say this is a great opportunity for someone to upgrade. Good luck with the sale.
