As new Anthem AVM 60 for sale. This is a truly excellent processor that sounds incredible. Original packaging. All accessories included. This is still the current model. Lots of exceptional reviews on this very well respected pre/pro. Sounds fantastic with music and movies, and has the Anthem ARC system which is among the best available room correction options available, it allowed me to dial my subs in beautifully. https://www.anthemav.com/products-archived/model=avm-60/page=overview

Rotel RB 993 - this is a rare beast! Not many of these in Australia Selling my much loved 993s (2 for sale) in amazing condition for their age. works perfectly and sounds fantastic. Apart from very low impedance speakers these are the same as 1080s : 200wrms x 3 into 8 ohms and 300 into 4 ohms. not many powerful 3 channel amps out there and here is a rare chance to buy two. obviously ideal for front 3 channels and I read they produce 500 wrms into a single channel as I ended up using them as mono blocks I would like for these to be picked up as I don’t have boxes but happy to help out any buyer

Rotel RB1080 in perfect working condition. This is the second RB1080 that works perfectly but has some minor cosmetic scratches and imperfections that I have photographed. An ideal match for my other 1080 as they work so well together for people like me who require realistic levels of headroom in their system. Very powerful and highly respected power amp with 200wrms x 2 into 8 ohms. I will be sorry to see these go but I’d much rather someone uses them as they are tremendous amplifiers.

Selling my much loved RB1080s These are sensational power amplifiers that I never thought I’d sell. But have moved to tri-amplified Hypex now and aren’t using them. I’m sure these need no introduction but they’re very powerful with 200wrms x 2 @ 8ohm I was running them in vertical bi amp with one for left and one for right tri wiring/ bi amping my VAF i93s and they were spectacular. There are 2 for sale, they are both operationally perfect but this one is a in mint condition with no scratches I can see and is factory double boxed. These are the Gen 2 versions with gold XLR and RCA connectors and the excellent bi wire speaker terminals.

Hi this is an excellent system, I’m very interested in the speakers by themselves if you’d be willing to split the listing? how are you using 3x mono amps for a stereo set of speakers? I can certainly understand 3x mono block PER speaker, as I’m tri amplifying my mains. -

Upstream from the 502 is a Dolby Lake processor- an active 3 way crossover. none of my many other amps have this issue. I have multiple NC400 mono and stereo amps, and several Rotel power amps on this circuit, all have been used in various configurations. power is from an Isotek Aquarius. I have tried plugging it into a seperate circuit, and also my additional 15A lines too. same loud click on power up and down. Definitely louder when powering down. -
Hi - it’s not very new but works extremely well: Rotel RB993 power amp if you have the shelf space? 3x 200wrms. @ 8 ohms. Or 2x 330watts it’s a beast. I have 2 in my collection and would like to move it locally due to the difficulty posting it. I’m on the south side of Canberra Great condition, works absolutely perfectly, sounds magic and has masses of power

I have a really loud click when I power down my March 502. It is scary for me as my speakers don’t have passive crossovers so I’m very concerned that there is a momentary signal spike unfiltered to my drivers.. -
Sony VPL-VW590ES / VPL-VW790ES Owners Thread
Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
I finally found the time to watch the above video and found it informative, even though I thought I’d read every possible word about the 590. In my experience with mine so far, I’m astonished at how impressive the Sony upscaling is. Avatar in 2K looked unbelievably good, Oblivion in 4K had simply the best contrast I’ve seen so far in any projector system. Just saw Martian in 4K and it was breathtaking as well. Couldn’t be happier with my 590, and I’m still uncalibrated - just running on Ref and with contrast enhancer at medium.- 90 replies

Oh really? Definitely did not know that. I’ll start studying up on them. Thanks all for the advice! I love this forum. yeah if I had the space I’d certainly have a 140” cinema scope screen and have the best of both options but my front wall is only so big I’m afraid. next is remove the awful lights, Install dimmable downlights and paint my roof black. Then add some more Viacoustic panels on my ceiling.

Sony VPL-VW590ES / VPL-VW790ES Owners Thread
Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
I suppose now with my magnificent 590 I’ll have to move the i93s elsewhere and get 2 Krix in wall speakers and a 120” acoustically transparent screen. This is the logical step I suppose. I specifically went in to my local serious hi fi store today to see the new screen technics material (I may get a grey screen?) and the electronic masking in action but really was not impressed at all. what do serious enthusiasts here do? Obviously almost all my material is 2.35:1 but my favorite discs have some 70mm content in them (like Dark Knight for example) and I can’t imagine compromising on that dramatic effect of It switching to 16x9 several times during the film.- 90 replies

Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
Well this is a huge consideration for me. I’d love to know what others think. my issue (not really a big problem as I absolutely love them) is that my main speakers are so huge that I have to project into the gap between them. The right speaker is just about as far right as it can go due to the door to my theatre being there. The left can move a few CM I suppose. Then I can *just* fit a 110” 16x9 screen. Up from my current Screen Technics 100”- 90 replies

Sony VPL-VW590ES / VPL-VW790ES Owners Thread
Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
Interesting. I tried that but decided on ‘Source Direct’ output from my Oppo 205, so that 2k blue rays are sent to the Sony for upscaling there. Some of those photos look amazing! Great work. I just saw a 760 on a massive 2.35:1 screen with an anamorphic lens and wasn’t blown away by it compared to my 590. Your Alita shots look stunning though. I’m trying to decide on a new screen so I’m comparing all my options. BTW - Circa $800 for calibration in Canberra.- 90 replies

Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
Best results so far were with the Oppo 205 set to ‘Source Direct’ (as always.) I’ll definitely spend some more time trying out different settings but playing ‘Dark Knight Rises’ UHD: when you pause the IMAX scenes with my screen in its 16x9 configuration you see a wide vertical tilt shot of New York City - you can actually see into hundreds of individual windows in the buildings in exquisite detail and the beautifully subtle shadings of light reflected on the stone facade from one building to another. It’s breathtaking. This is in ‘REF’ with zero calibration so I imagine there’s far more to come. I’ll be doing proper contrast/gamma/black level adjustments as soon as I have time. I also installed (at great difficulty in my room with its 4 layers of insulation!!) a new 10M run of Kordz PRS Spectra7 active copper 18Gbs HDMI cable as I was concerned my 16Gbs active optical HDMI cable wouldn’t be sufficient for 4K- 90 replies

Sony VPL-VW590ES / VPL-VW790ES Owners Thread
Sinewave replied to xPLAYRZx's topic in Televisions, Projectors & Screens
So amusingly I only have 2 UHD blue rays, (I just bought 15 more) so I didn’t have much material to test with. But I did try several different settings and tried upscaling 2k blue rays in my Oppo 205 vs the 590 with mixed results. My room can be pitch black from external light, but as it’s a multi purpose room it’s not a bat cave. I will have to paint the roof black, or put 8x black Viacoustic panels on the ceiling between screen and projector as the light bleed from the screen was astonishing. I will definitely one day post photos of my setup as I’d really appreciate comments on how to improve my *everything*. my Pana 8000 was only ever used in ‘REC709’, my screen is a Screen Technics with zero gain. We watched Black Panther on ‘Cinema Film 1 and 2’ and.. I couldn’t se a damn thing. It was so dark. Contrast enhancer on mid, as were the other HDR settings. But on ‘Ref’ it was just about perfect. Actually it was shockingly good to be honest. And I’ve seen the entire Sony range in hi fi stores around the country. I have the Spears and Munsil test disc and will do as much adjustment as possible and report back! Anyone in Canberra getting a professional calibration anytime soon? Put me on the list if there are- 90 replies

My system isn’t very impressive I’m afraid, but there is no doubt of it’s performance. My last projector was a Panasonic PTAE8000. It took a long time to find something that was orderers of magnitude better.- 90 replies

First viewing with my 590 last night and I’m shocked by how great it is. The colors and detail are astonishing, I couldn’t be more impressed. Especially at this price point. I will have to wait to see the 790 my dealer bought, once it arrives, but couldn’t ask for more than this level of performance in my room. PlayrZ I hope you enjoy your 790 and are as thrilled with its image quality as I am with mine!- 90 replies
