  1. Hi Nick Literally around the corner from me... I'll be there Derek
  2. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQsikQ_qp8xuawOVblP479RCg5QD9fmTCeicdd9gQmiZlkOoizRyv3Sot_Dz_QyjGN9tUxWzKyrT_sq/pubhtml Lifestyle store has a few ex-demo options on clearance that you could try
  3. Having owned the DC-6, I would say that it is much too small to match the DC-X (which I also had). The experience was quite unbalanced, but you can boost the centre channel to try to make it work. Obviously the timbral match was good. But it was noticeable when I upgraded to the the X centre (when I had more room), so you would probably notice the downgrade too
  4. It does, although from memory, I think the G1 series can run more filters than original Aries (if that is what you are referring to)
  5. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/st-agnes/stereo-systems/bryston-b135sst-amplifier/1319091483 I think this is an SST2
  6. I don't know if it's true, but I've had some country fellas suggest that keeping the bonnet open makes it less attractive for nesting
  7. It looks suspiciously like a banana-to-banana speaker cable?
  8. I have mine on a dedicated line. (but that was because it was tripping the breaker when other appliances were on )
  9. Perhaps a bit deep for a FS thread, but I'm not convinced "leave a lot of good flavor behind" is the reason. They do say that coffee tastes better with a certain amount of dissolved salts added back into the brewing water. There are some filters that are intended to be used post-RO for that purpose. They also say that very pure water can be corrosive for stainless steel boilers.
  10. On the contrary, a good coffee machine can contribute to an improved musical experience

  12. Thanks for the nicely written review. However, I don't think you can use the Resolve format without using the term "trailing ends of tones"
  13. Are you adding the whole album to the the queue? sometimes the default behaviour of "click" can be set to only add 1 track. If that is the case, either holding (finger) or right clicking (mouse) can bring up more options. Or you can change the default behaviours
  14. Further Information: For sale is Small Green Computer SonicTransporter i5 Gen 2 with 1TB SSD. Current model is Gen 3 (equivalent RRP is AUD 1974 plus shipping). It runs headless on the latest Sonic Orbiter software and can run Roon core, as well as HQPlayer (embedded licence), MinimServer (DLNA), Squeezebox, Plex Media Server. It is silent, as the heavy metal enclosure acts as a heat sink. It has capability comparable to the Roon Nucleus (not Plus), but is more flexible. These are sold by SGC without a power supply, assuming that you will use a linear supply, so I can supply a generic SMPS, but it will add to cost of postage. Price negotiable
  15. Each to their own! But many might argue that the "best" option wouldn't involve spending money on an amp stage that isn't being used. But not a discussion for a FS thread. GLWS
  16. Actually, that 3.5mm mini-toslink connector might be an adapter - check if it pulls off
  17. If that is the case, we should all prepare to bow to our "spinning tunes on the late shift" overlords
  18. Knowing you, you're more likely to be looking at "downsizing" to an all-in-one desktop system... like an HE-1
