I have since consolidated two systems and decided to keep a recently repaired Balanced Audio Technology preamp. The Vincent sounds great and is in excellent condition. However, the tubes are original and will likely need replacing soon. Includes remote, manual and original packaging, but no power cord. Prefer pickup at my location in the southern Gold Coast. It can easily be installed in my current system if you want a listen. Will ship at cost. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  5. Item: Three SACDs Location: Gold Coast Price: See below Item Condition: New Reason for selling: See below Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Another Side of Bob Dylan $36 Bob Dylan (sold) The Times they are a changing $36 Plus $6 shipping to Australia addresses. These are new in their original packaging. The MFSL SACDs are considered the best digital versions of these albums. I purchased directly from MFSL in the US and had them shipped here. I’ve priced them at approximately the US price I paid (including shipping to Oz) converted to AUD, which is well below what you would pay at Amazon.com.au or Quality Records. Reason for selling. This was my first time ordering from MFSL and I screwed up and placed a double order, which I didn’t realize until they were shipped. I have two copies of Times They Are A Changing because it turns out I already owned it. (All in all not my best online order effort.) Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  6. They’re yours. Will send you a pm.

  15. Please don't forget to check the Classifieds Guidelines before posting this classified ad. You many delete this text from your advertisement. Item: Yaqin MS 12B Tube phono preamp Location: Southern Gold Coast Price: Free Item Condition: as new Reason for selling: upgrade Extra Info: Several years ago this phono preamp was discussed on this forum and several members purchased one. It was dirt cheap direct from Hong Kong and I was looking for a temporary replacement for my preamp, which required repairs. It worked, but there was a hum that apparently others were able to overcome, but I couldn't. I'm clearing out the closets so if you have one and want spare parts or if you simply want something to play with It's yours if you don't mind picking it up in Currumbin Waters, QLD. Otherwise it's headed for the electronics recycling tip at Merrimac.
  16. +1 on Electrocompaniet. I'm running a pair of AW220 amps that are more than 10 years old but still making me smile. welcome
  17. I had the same experience. I purchased the 30.1s before Christmas as a result of reading this old thread and had good intentions to write a review for the forum -- and may actually do it one day. The quick review is . . . wow. Dan
  18. I haven't heard the SA-31 but I have the SA-T8 balanced tube preamp and like it. I also have a BAT VK-3iX preamp and the Vincent stands up to it quite well in comparison. If you were in SE Queensland you could come over and have a listen. I am thinking of selling the Vincent because I don't need both and the BAT has more features and a better remote. My understanding is that the Vincents are made in China but designed in Germany.
  19. I have Balanced Audio Technology VK-3iX preamp that requires repair. I think there is a problem with the volume control circuit. After an hour or so of play time I get static from one speaker and eventually both. Sometimes one or both channels drop out completely. The main question is whether to repair or replace? The argument for repair is that I love the unit when it’s working properly. The argument for replace is that it’s going to cost a LOT of money to ship it back to the states for repair, plus the cost (and lost time) of the repair itself. When it finally returns it’s still a six year old piece of gear that, although it doesn’t have a lot of hours on it, does have a lot of miles since its been moved all over the world – and was probably abused by the last moving company – perhaps explaining the current issue. My sub-questions are: Is there someone in Australia who could take a crack at the repair – preferably in or around Brisbane? Would the broken BAT have any value at all? (I think I know the answer to that one.) If I replace, then with what? I like the valves and I would want true balanced outs. Money is tight right now so I don’t want to spend what I paid for the BAT. The budget would be under $2.5k. Any and all comments and suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks in advance. (The downstream components are Electrocompaniet AW220s running as monoblocks, Avalon Acoustics Monitor speakers and an Osborn subwoofer)
  20. Please let us know if you solve the hum problem. I have the same issue. Thanks!
  21. Could it be a bad cable? I had a similar problem once that drove me nuts and it turned out the interconnect was to blame.
  22. I just bought one for my P5 and bringing back from a trip to the US, so it won't be installed for at least a week -- will let you know what I think.
  23. I bought mine from tubestein168 on ebay. Good communication, excellent packing and fast delivery.
