  1. Hi, i hope someone can point me in the right direction here. i have a JVC X35 to ceiling mount and a fixed screen to install and was wondering if anyone can give me a few recommended contacts. i would prefer someone who has an background in home theatre setups rather than just a general contractor as I need some wall speakers relocated at the same time. i am in western Sydney Thanks for your help Damien
  2. Thanks guys I currently have a 65 inch tv in the place where this screen is going so it will end up larger than what I currently have, which is better than nothing. I am stuck because the room is only 3 metres deep and once the projector gets positioned as far back as I can get it, I can only zoom the x35 out to approx 90 inches diagonally (16x9). In this situation am I better going with a 90 inch 16 x 9 or a 73 inch 2.35? I do like the idea of a 2.35 screen but will it make the 1.85 movies too small? Thanks again Damien
  3. Hi Everyone, I have inherited a 92" 16x9 fixed screen that I would like to modify to a slightly smaller (in width) 2.35 screen. This would mean that all 4 sides would need to be cut down. The frame material is aluminium section covered in a black velvet which seems to be glued on. I have been procrastinating doing anything at all for fear of stuffing it up. But I can't put this off any longer as I've had a jvc x35 sitting in the spare room doing nothing for the past 3 months. I know I have to cut each of the ends of the aluminium at 45 degrees but I am unsure of tool would give the most accurate and cleanest result. On top of the I have the velvet to consider. If I can't peel the velvet off, how do cut through the aluminium without tearing the velvet? Happy to take it somewhere in Sydney if it will get me the right outcome. Any advice would be most welcome Thanks Damien
  4. Hi all I also have JVC X30 that I need calibrated, however I am In Sydney. Can anyone recommend a guy that really knows his stuff. Thanks
  5. Thanks for your reply I have since found out that the oppo wont zoom on a movie that has Picture in Picture or BD- Java It could be that as well
  6. Hi all, I am wanting to use the various zoom modes that the oppo 103d offer. But when I try to use it on my JVC X30 it comes up with a red circle with a line through it on the top left hand corner of the screen. The projectors aspect ratio is set at 16.9. Can anyone advise how to get this working? Thanks in advance
  7. Hi, Has anyone got an informed opinion on the better sound quality option between these two (or three) units? I am purely interested in 5.1 for Movies. I am not interested in a whole lot of bells and whistles(aside from EQ) I am just interested in the one that delivers the best movie experience (Dynamic, accurate etc) I have a Rotel 1095 amplifier (5 x 200w) to go with this. I seem to be going backwards and forwards between the 2 brands every second day.based on what I read on various forums. I know all the specs on all 3, I just don't know which one sounds the best with movies. Any thing that can help me pull the trigger on either would be great. Thanks Damien

  10. Hi, I am interested in purchasing one of these. If anyone is considering selling one please let me know Thanks Damien
  11. I have a standalone SVS Audyssey kit that I have recently disconnected. I suppose I was not that keen on the whole automatic thing without being able to manually intervene. Not sure where things are being cut and boosted The sound from the system without it is pretty good. I came from the Velodyne SMS-1 which was highly adjustable. Do you think the ARC in the MRX models is worth pursuing? Thanks
  12. I've actually got a submersive sub so I am covered in the bass dept. Just not sure if there would be a noticeable improvement by switching receivers at this point. Maybe you get to a point where any sonic differences between this level of receivers are not significant enough to worry about Any thoughts on this?
  13. I am running Jamo THX speakers. I am using the older 1095 Rotel Amp I am purely using this setup for home theatre purposes only. Maybe I have got it wrong. I could be underestimating my Integra and falling for upgradeitis? Do you think I would not really hear any significant difference for movies?
  14. Hi All, I am really struggling to come up with a definitive answer to this as I cannot easily audition either one of these. I currently have an Integra 9.9 pre pro with a Rotel 200w per channel amp attached. Based on what I have read, the sound quality of both the Anthem and the Cambridge Audio is superior to the Integra. Has anyone get an opinion on whether me adding the Anthem unit to my Rotel amp would be a better solution to the Cambridge unit on its own? Thanks
