  1. Connect the CXN to your Marantz via analog cables and then the CXN will do the first MQA unfold.
  2. These units are all getting on by now. If you haven’t, I would suggest getting it checked over by a tech. Worth noting the playback and fast wind controls for these Akai units are prone to failure. Apparently they didn’t do a very good job casting them originally and they break down over time, I suspect this can also be accelerated by the mechanism linkages not being lubricated over the years. I rebuilt an Akai x150 about 18 months ago. Check wiring carefully. The motor run caps usually require replacement which will ensure the motor runs cooler. Also lubrication of the mot
  3. Further information: Purchased new about five years ago. These have been terminated with quality banana plugs, 2 on amplifier end and 4 on the speaker end. These are great speaker cables at a reasonable price. These have the dual layer foil shield that was first introduced in Chord's Signature cable but at a more affordable price. Any hi-fi sytem will respond to the introduction of shielded cables. More detail, improved dynamics, better timing and tonal neutrality across the frequency range. Preference will be given to a local buyer but I am willing to

  5. Further information: I purchased this SUT brand new from Carlton Audio Visual in late September 2020 to use with my MM phono stage when I purchased a Van Den Hul MC. This is a fantastic performing SUT, built like a tank and well isolated. It has 24db gain. I have since upgraded to a new preamp which has an MC phono section so this is no longer required. Condition is as brand new with box, manual and remaining warranty. No scratches or marks. RRP on these is $879. Happy to post at buyers cost. Photos:

  9. Beautiful pieces! Russ is a honest seller and fastidious about his gear. Killer pre and power combo!
  10. I’ve been using an Intel NUC running Roon Rock as an end point connected to my Chord Qutest for about two years. I changed the NUC power supply to a better quality earthed unit and it sounded cleaner. This thread has prompted me to look into buying an RPI4 and giving the Ropieee software a spin to see how it compares to the NUC - having Spotify connect will be great. Do other users have any issues with Ropiee switching between Spotify and Roon? The NUC has been fine but it did take a little tweaking with a power filter to isolate noise from its grounded power sup
  11. Hi everyone. This has now been sold through another site. thanks to everyone who got in contact. 😀
  12. Further information: Up for sale is my McIntosh C2200 tube preamplifier. This unit presents in immaculate condition as per pictures below with only minor handling marks on the casework. When released in 2003 this was Mcintosh's first tube preamplifier released in nearly 30 years. It was designed by Sidney Corderman who designed much of their gear in the 60's and is a sought after unit having a higher compliment of tubes than current offerings from McIntosh. A recent video review by a Canadian dealer compares this favourably to McIntosh's latest C2700 offering noting the C2200 has

  15. I am very familiar with these particular speakers. Had timing been different and I had not just purchased some Spendor D7.2 these would be coming to my house to live. Buy with confidence from Russell 👍
  16. Great price, that’s a lot of speaker for the money. Have a pair myself and these are seriously good. They need a good 300 hours to come on song. glwts
  17. Oh and pics ( not that they are that exciting )
  18. Hi everyone I thought I would give a little update on this journey for anyone looking at this thread in the future. Late last year I picked up the Michell from CAV like a parent handling a newborn and carefully drove it home and set it up. I kept my 2M Black from my old RP8 and figured I would get to know the table before making any changes. Several months later I sold my GSP Accession phono stage to a good mate who fell in love with it. After several detailed comparison sessions I found the tube phono section of my McIntosh C2200 to be as good if not slightly more to my taste
  19. I’ve not heard any clipping so far, I’ll keep an ear out. I’ve been listening to a number of Analog Productions 45rpm pressings which have a fair bit of energy and heard nothing of note. I’m also in Richmond maybe one day when stupid lockdown is finished I can start trialling some other options
