I just saw that my TV alerted me here is a new update for the EX-780a and other Pansonic TV's.

Version 4.239 was released om August 31

I looked up what it did, hoping we got some new APP's, but none sadly, all it does according to the Pansonic site is Improve Network Applications and Improves System Stability.

Damn! I would really like Disney+ support on at least one of my devices.... :hmm:

  2. Here's the main Media room at one stage of it's evolution....

Matt, very dark blue front wall and ceiling. (white LEDs appear blue due to reflecting off a blue surface)

Mid Blue side walls and matching block-out curtains.

Mustard yellow rear walls, carpets and recliner lounges.

    Room is 6 x 3.6 x 2.4m (LxWxH)

Screen is 110" 16:9 OZTS Majestic with Evo3D fabric.

BTW: seating distance is 3.9m and I experimented with different screen sizes on a white wall and found anything bigger than the 110" was too big for my tastes.

This worked out well as it allowed me to make features of the front corner bass traps. (floor to ceiling columns backlit both sides)

Here's a link to the whole build thread.

Don't underestimate the potential of heavy side curtains to darken the room as required.

This shouldn't be a struggle. If you are using a separate power amp, quite simply, do not pay for more amps in a receiver. Buy a processor. I agree with the above recommendation for Anthem. Either look for a discounted AVM 60, now that is EOL, or sign yourself up for an AVM 70 with your nearest dealer.

Depends on how many channels you are going to run and how many channels are available in your chosen power amp(s).

If you want to run 7 channels and use the Rotel you are short by two if you use a processor. Same if you want to run 9 and use the Elektra.....

  4. I have Sigs .v1 (S6, C3, S1) & some Mission Audios for surround backs.

I also use Elektra for my power amp as it works very well with the Paradigms.

For the front end I use an older Denon 4311 passing through a Primare Pre32 with HT Bypass.

The combination of Marantz/Denon + Elektra + Paradigm is very popular and for a reason.

IMHO Primare + Elektra + Paradigm is absolutely sublime for 2ch........

Finishes on Thursday, last runs of ‘ ALL GOVERNMENTS LIE’ - a rather disturbing look at the dumbing down of journalism under the stultifying influence of Corporate America. Could not be more timely and a sobering reminder to protect what remains of investigative journalism in this country.

Off topic but there's a petition started by a former PM out there you can sign on this topic, closes on the 4th of November......

  6. While it will always depend on your specific speakers I have on the pre side;

    - Denon 4311 (for HT) and Primare Pre32 (for music with HT bypass)

Running through and older (non-HD) Elektra Theatron

To a set of Paradigm Sigs.

This combination is absolutely sublime......

Wood, don't be shy about couriering your Elektra to Arthur, that's what I did (I'm in Sydney too) and perfect during this Covid period.

I even got him to put it in a new box and packing for the return for a small extra cost as I didn't have the original packaging.....

Ahem ... iron sky was fun ...can we stomach a round two though !!!

Recently purchased (on special) and watched the sequel........

It doesn't hold a candle to the first, entirely different, and weaker premise (yes, that's actually possible!).

Still worth it for a watch if you like the genre, I think my mistake was there wasn't enough alcohol consumed while watching. :hiccup  :ermm:
