  1. Item: Nad C316bee stereo amp Location: Brisbane Price: $250 inc $20 donation Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Given up thinking I will ever use it Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: not too sure when exactly I purchased unit but as in the photos there is a delivery label to Todds Hifi where I purchased it from for the 13/07/2013 so would have been somewhere around then. It was purchased to be used as a second system but wife didn't want any more electronics around so other than being used once to show her it went back in its box (changed wives now, but new one isn't keen either lol) There is a very slight mark across the top surface it doesn't show in the pictures and its really hard to see. other than that it is in as new condition , with instructions, remote and original box . Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  6. Hi All I started my first home theatre back in the early 2000's and up graded a couple of times from plasma, lcd tv's and then to a projector about 10 years ago. I purchased a Sanyo Z5 and a 96inch oz theatre screen , omg I thought it as great even although it was only in 720P. Due to a change in circumstances it got packed up and stored until this week in my new house I got it out and set it up. The bug has bitten again and now I have the support of my wife to have a dedicated room to play with. Anyway enough of the history lesson. I went to a local hifi shop and had a look around at some new projectors. Hmm how the world of electronics moves on !!!! They only had a couple of projectors to look at , an Epson 9300 and some laser type at $9000 way over my budget. I am aware of 4k and faux 4k(1080p) which were being demonstrated. the faux 4k (Epsom 9300) didn't quite look as good as the proper 4k but to be fair the room wasn't completely dark and the image was displayed on a screen that felt too large for the distance seated. The 4k one was in a darker room and on a smaller screen but the picture didn't look twice as good as the Epson for what was over twice the price. So a few questions for you more up-to-date people than poor old me. 1) True 4k is beyond my budget , is faux 4k really worth it ? 2) I watch mainly movies, a little TV and no gaming. The Epson had a zoom function to enable it to do CIH Without an anamorphic lens this seems a great thing to watch movies on a cinemascope style screen. Never thought I would be able to do this without the huge expense of an anamorphic lens. Is this correct or am I missing something here ? 3) If I upgrade my projector , my budget is around the $4000 mark less is better but picture quality must be a priority, so Epson 9300, Sony 45 Optoma uhd51 are they others that I should think about? Many thanks for any advice given Steve

  12. Hi Quark Will get some Raven seals for the doors. No have not used the Oppo direct to XPA-5 was advised that the Oppo is not really a pre-amp but will give it a go. As you say the room is not so good being quite square will have a look at avrs with xt32 or any comments about anthems arc room correction? unfortunately there is no walls I can use to mount speakers have to use ceiling speakers, have been looking at either Niles or Speakercraft.
