  1. DTS-MA seems to work out and everything else seems to be just "HD Audio which is definitely surround but I don't know what audio codec it's using. My previous processor detected DTS-MA/TruHD/Atmos fine with same settings. I don't want to go back into speaker config and add extra speaker locations since that will require RP measurements again - on second thought, i did back up already so i suppose i could go in and make some changes then load the backup again. My theory is the LFE channel is not selected since I'm using Aux1/Aux2 and no height channels are visible so the processor will not engage Atmos. I'll come back with my findings.
  2. Yes I tried this and no difference. Do i need to enable LFE channel and height speakers for the decoder to work, even though I don't have any? I would have thought i would get TruHD Surround at least.
  3. So the MP-60 is setup now and I've level matched, added sub amp delays. Took me 9 measurements to get to 99%. Amazing sound quality, i'm speechless at how transparent and dynamic the preamp/processor is. It's in a different league to other ones I bet. In my speaker configuration I have 5 speakers setup + Aux1 + Aux 2. (FL C FR SL SR Front sub 1 Front sub 2) I am bitstreaming from madvr htpc. No LFE channel. I have an issue though, playing atmos/TrueHD and DTS-MA mkv remux files, I only see the HD Audio logic light up? What is wrong with my config?:
  4. Further information: Bought as refurbished stock May 2019 from Excel Hifi. Unit was as new and I've been using it daily with no known issues. It was recently updated via WIFI to the latest firmware. Unit is built like a tank, it is quite heavy for a preamp/processor. Prefer local pickup. https://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio_visual/av_receivers_amps/cx-a5200/index.html Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  5. Although your personal recommendation is go with a One SE/Duo/Mini paired with an external lienar PSU like the Uptone Audio JS-2?
  6. I just learned this recently in one of Jim Peterson's recent youtube vidoes, HDMI cables were designed to work at longer distances so he says that's a good safe length. It may still work at shorter distances still but can be twitchy. How many devices in the hdmi chain do you have Marc? Process of elimination, straightest path; source player direct to preamp/processor, then re-introduce other devices into your chain until you nail down which component is the culprit.
  7. Also Marc, ensure that all your cables are at least 2m up to 4m for passive hdmi - audio sync issues.
  8. Perfect! This player has tons of features. Would have been good to have netflix/youtube 4k but that's just icing on the cake.
  9. Can this zappati player move subtitle locations? I have a 16:9 screen and a lot of the times the subs fall into the black bars but I'm moving to a CIH scoped screen and therefore they aren't going to be visible anymore for scoped movies. My current media player Vero4k+ allows this but the subtitles have to be ripped in a special way, also the player is good when it works but when it doesn't.. debugging is a mess, hoping the zappati can improve on this!
  10. These seem to get great reviews all over and they are also on my list to listen to one day! I think the lead designer had something to do with the B&W nautilus speaker if I recall correctly.
  11. Can try this from someone having audio sync issues in avsforum: The sync delay should be less if you set the Zappiti output (i.e. display mode in the settings) to 24Hz instead of Auto or e.g. 60Hz. Once you have the "auto sync 24/50/60" turned on, it will still output in e.g. 60Hz if the file is in that format.
  12. If using an external linear power supply, then there is no need to have a better PSU that is used in the PRO, or it negates the need for one? Ah looks like you answered my question just as I asked, thanks! Looks like AvAustralia are selling that unit on special for $688.
  13. This media player looks very good. For those that already have a lumagen, I'm assuming you run the Zappati in direct output mode? If this is the case, is there any reason to get the Pro version? I see there are many 4K versions of this player but am not sure which one will do the best job. I have all my UHD files backed up on my NAS as MKV and have been looking to replace my htpc with a good media player.
  14. Further information: I bought this unit last month from shazza6887 (top bloke!) and he brought it over yesterday and helped me set it up. I've had it hooked up for about an hour and can say the convergence for the unit is outstanding, compared it directly to a single chip DLP (Runco Q750) I had in the same room. It is in pristine condition with no visible marks, comes in original box with remote etc. This unit is the top of the line from the last generation with the highest native contrast ratio (160,000), higher than the current crop of JVC projectors. It has under 600 hours using the original lamp and was bought new from Rio Sound and Vision in late 2018. Receipt provided. 15. After confirming all Envy Extremes will be using the new RTX 3080 card, Madshi did say that he will be adding more algos to take advantage of the extra horsepower. This would take take over the next few months. I'm guessing for those more interested in the Envy Pro model, the current GTX 1660 card will probably be replaced by the forthcoming RTX 3600 card which hasn't been announced yet sometime in 2021. That's my guess anyway.
  16. Further information: I bought these over 10 years ago, I think I might have been one of the first in Australia to get them in. The HT1 Veracity monitors are the first speakers that Salk Sound built and designed. They are an exceptional accurate speaker with a silky top end and have had rave reviews over the years. Salk Speakers are built to order and mine were veneered and hand rubbed lacquered in Santos rosewood finish as a full set (I am keeping the floor standing HT3 for now and may sell them later). This post is for the sale of the HT1 and HTC speakers as a set. I think if buyers wanted to buy these speakers new, it would be around 8k AUD or more if you include shipping and taxes. HT1 https://www.salksound.com/model.php?model=Veracity+HT1 HTC2 https://www.salksound.com/model.php?model=Veracity+HT2C Mine were the original speakers that use the Aurum Cantus G2 Ribbon Tweeter in both HT1 and HTC speakers. The current HT1 and HTC2 use RAAL ribbon tweeters. These are for pick up only as I don't have the shipping boxes anymore and they are dense heavy speakers. They are in excellent condition, the HTC has a tiny mark under the right W18 seas midrange driver which is visible in the photos. 17. So who is the distributor/dealer for Australia? The pre-release sale is only until the 30th of September I think.
  18. Thanks, quite exciting! I have dual X12 subs so the people on Avforum have been given the latency figures for that sub model already. In order for me to level match and set the trim, I do need a minidsp balanced device and set the levels before RP then, or it is jew REW + acoustic timing reference feature.
  19. Hi everyone, So I've taken the plunge and will be receiving my MP-60 soon. It's advisable to use REW to level match and set distances before i start RP? Also currently I have 2 subs, I intend to put them both in Front L + R corner and then I have another custom horm sub being made for the back right corner. My main use is 70% HT 30% music. I've read most of the Lyngdorf threads here and in other forums (Avsforum/avforum) and there appears to be some debate on how to setup multiple subs. Either we have all 3 of my subs set as LFE - for more even room response (standard way) OR Set Front L and Front R as Aux 1 and 2 for stereo boundary bass (effectively making my F and L speaker a full range speaker as they will be set to small) and the third subwoofer in the back R corner to be using LFE channel. Has anyone compared both and what was the conclusion?
