  1. http://www.pureglare...=53463&groups=1 That is the bulb I got for my HD350. Seemed identical build wise and no PQ difference to the JVC original. Problem with PJ is they sometimes struggle to source this bulb in a timely fashion. That was my issue last time I enquired so I went local and saved $100 plus at the time relative to PJ.
  2. 100" 2.37:1 cinemascope screen from OZTS. Evo3D screen material, black velvet border (pre fidelio option) 3 1/2 years old. As new condition Available to view in central Sydney. The nature of fixed screens generally precludes them from being disassembled so would ideally suit a NSW buyer. see link below for measurements and general info: http://www.projector...s-standard.html $480 ONO.
  3. I have a OZTS Cinemascope 100" in perfect condition that is for sale. Was just about to place a listing. However I see you are in Melbourne. I am in Sydney. Care to move?
  4. Just working my way through the PMs folks. Lonewolf - sent you a PM. power shift = powered lens shift. My mistake.
  5. Just over 3 years old. Purchased June 2009.1 owner. New lamp module (complete housing, lamp, bulb) recently installed. Usage approximately 1550 hours. New bulb has around 20 hours. Has always been covered when not in use and I would rate its condition as excellent, essentially appears new. Full power shift , focus and zoom. Useful for the Cinemascope users. I have been running a 2.37:1 screen. Obviously comes with all the relevant bits including original box, manuals, cables and remote. This projector has been faultless for me however I have found I am using it less and less. I had a minor issue that I posted about here regarding the projector powering down of its own accord. Turns out it was complete user error with a power socket not seated correctly. Paid $4950 from OZTS on a group buy that was initiated on DTV. Asking $1500 ONO. D-ILA panel technology is well known on this forum. If this is what you are after this is a solid deal. I am in North Sydney. Welcome any auditions. Pics on request.
  6. I have a LW9500. I just plugged my old lacie 2 1/4 usb bus powered external drive into usb1 and it worked. Prompted to format it and that was it. I can record to it but it also seems to run a continual buffer and can pause on demand. Works flawlessly.
  7. was the video served up direct from the phone? I know my iphone can do it via apple tv but direct would be cool.
  8. Yup I dont get the anti LG sentiment. It is foolish to dismiss a brand in its entirety and conversely it is short sighted to slavishly adore a brand. Sony, Panasonic and Samsung all put out poor TVs even at the higher end of the market. As far as reliability goes, in the LCD sector Samsung seems so be the flavour of the month and their reliability/panel consistency as far as the D8000 series seems awful based on DTVforum and Whirlpool. Regardless I am not here to push LG, however after digging below the surface and doing the research this is a stand out LCD panel that people in the market for an LCD should consider. Kind of a redundant tip though as I suspect within a month its not longer available
  9. how does the 2 years extra on Amex work? I paid with Amex so what if anything do I need to do?
  10. There has been the occasional mention here of this model but it has gone largely unnoticed. It can currently be had for around $1500 which for a back lit 288 array local dimming LCD in 55 inches is a great deal. No 3D but frankly who cares. It was intended to be LG's top model for 2011 but they did a refocus of their 3D from active to passive and thus stranded this particular TV. In some markets it was still sold as an active 3D model but in Australia it was positioned as a 2D set. They have just released a slightly revised model called the LW9800 which is pretty much the same TV although rumoured to have less local zones (to be confirmed). This has been reviewed at FatpanelsHD with a pretty solid rating. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?sub...p;id=1319111213 Anyway I just got one and am pretty impressed. When its tweaked and local dimming and black levels are set correctly it is impressive. It has full ISF calibration modes as well and people who have gone the calibrator route are claiming great PQ results. See LV9500 thread on AVS forums. Interestingly the panel manufacturing date on mine is september 2011. Not bad for a $1500 runout. Build quality seems good with a full metal chassis on the back. Made in Korea. 3 year warranty. The other concern I had prior to purchase was how good the DLNA support was. Pleased to say via PS3 media player on the Mac it handles everything I throw at it with no transcoding. The set also has a built in Plex app that runs pretty smoothly which many seem to prefer. I was also a sceptic of the magic motion (wii esque) remote but it works suprisingly well and makes it a joy to navigate the smart components of the TV. Also a iphone app from LG that is pretty solid. I didn't buy this TV for the smart features but it is nice to have ABC iview and such available. They work well. Anyway just a heads up for those in the market for a back lit LCD panel. Cheers.
  11. Yup all clean. I have checked all the obvious. My only hope is that the cracked front of the bulb housing is involved in some way. Have a new bulb on the way. Regarding service centres. I had scanned that list previously and I am hoping someone has feedback for one of the NSW based 3rd party service centres.
  12. I have a problem with my HD350 also. Switches itself off after 5 minutes. Any suggestions where to send it for servicing in Sydney?
  13. Reviving this thread. I had posted on my HD350 turning off randomly. Decided to pull the lamp and have exactly the same crack on the lamp as shown in your pic. Did this cause you to have any resets/power off behaviour? Funny thing is when it is running the pic seems fine.
  14. Interesting. So Hagemeyer did the repair? What was wrong by the way?
  15. yup im suspecting I will need to take it somewhere. As I understand it Hagemeyer doesn't do inhouse servicing for JVC projectors. I am hoping for a service center recommendation.
  16. I have been rather quiet the last year or so since my gear has been performing well. However.. Would like to pick the forums brains trust. My HD350 has been flawless since purchased in mid 09. It has now started to turn itself off within 5 mins of starting up. Thoughts? Filter - cleaned and checked. Timer off setting - checked Hide option - checked Air intakes - checked. projector has never been moved Warning lights - checked. it just goes back to a red standby light. no lamp light or warning light on. Lamp usage = 1450 hours Could an expiring lamp explain the projector going to standby? The image seems bright and when it is on (albeit for 5 mins) looks normal. I pulled up the JVC service centre list of agents for NSW. Any recommendations/experiences for fixing a JVC projector?
  17. What is the Bit rate for ONE HD FTA? Also the broadcast native res? It just seems soft to me. Granted it isn't terrible but compared to the Foxtel I saw yesterday it is disappointing.
  18. Then i am confused as to whats going on with my system. i have done a new frequency scan and ONE HD FTA looks crap relative to the Foxtel ONE HD I saw yesterday. Surely the bit rate on the FTA version is lower?
  19. Just to clarify. We are talking ONE HD on Foxtel? Coz ONE HD FTA looks terrible. I did catch a few minutes of the Foxtel ONE HDyesterday and it looked a LOT better than the FTA. Infact it looked really good. I however dropped foxtel at my house a few years ago. Is FTA ONE HD even HD anymore? Doesn't appear to be but I have not been keeping up with all the channel frequency splits and new channels cropping up.
