Further information: Donation to StereoNet upon sale. Lowballers will be politely ignored. Having the original packaging I am able to ship the amp within Australia at buyer's expense (with insurance) and risk but would prefer a local pickup. Bought brand new from DACman last year, it is the later edition with the High/Low Gain switch on the back to allow you to best match it to your system. This unit is unmarked and has only had approx. 100 to 150 hours use, it may not even be fully run in yet. After taking the pictures I have wrapped her back up in the origin

SOLD: Herron VTSP - 3 Preamplifier
DSK replied to SPR08Y's topic in Classifieds - Stereo, Home Cinema & Headphones
From memory, tubes 2 & 5 (the middle one in each row of 3) are only used when polarity is reversed so the owner may not have worried about swapping those 2 out ... or he may have done it deliberately to compare between the two types of tube using the polarity button on the remote control. -

I agree Luc. This makes it very difficult for anyone into 2-channel only to do a quick scan of 2-channel gear. They now have to try to figure out which amps, speakers etc are 2-channel and which are A/V. Many ads give a brand and model number in the title but don't specifically say what the actual object is (eg. headphone, headphone amp, A/V amp, stereo amp etc etc), meaning multiple ads need to be opened only to find out that they are not 2-channel related. I used to duck in and check the stereo classifieds regularly when I had a minute but I'll probably abandon that practice as

No worries, thanks for the quick response Marc.

It was great to see that the prices were returned to the Classifieds listing screen shortly after the "new look" was implemented ... but this morning they are gone again?

Sonusfidelio, I was wrestling with exactly the same decision (whether to sell my tube pre and tube amp or my EX-M1) ... until a couple of weeks ago. The EX-M1 does so well in so many areas and outperformed my tube gear in a number of areas but somehow I still missed the tubes. After reading reports from Doug Schroeder and others I thought it worth trying discrete opamps in place of the socketed monolithic opamps in the EX-M1 before selling it. Wow! The couple of small reservations I had re the sound of the stock EX-M1 are gone and I'm now able to completely relax and be absorbed

DCS Network Bridge Vs SMS 200 Ultra
DSK replied to Limmie's topic in Digital Sources, DACs, and Computer Audio
Or, if you have a NAS, you could load your library onto that with MinimServer2 (which I read somewhere is recommended by DCS) and install your favourite app on your phone and/or iPad as the control point (e.g. BubbleUPnP, HiFi-Cast, Lumin etc etc). No need for a PC, or the NAS, to be in the same room as the hifi system. I did this originally to an Auralic Aries femto (Sbooster) and currently to a Sonore Signature Rendu which then feeds the DAC via I2S. Very happy with the results.
