  1. Thanks, I didn't know there was a difference between the two. I'm open to either model.
  2. Thanks for the spot. Hopefully though I can find a local pair.
  3. I'm chasing a pair of Yamaha Soavo NS-F901 speakers, preferably in the black gloss finish. A Melbourne location preferred for pickup. If anyone is keen to sell, please let me know.

Item: Schiit Audio Valhalla 2 Headphone Amplifier Location: Bentleigh East (Melbourne) Price: $350 firm (+postage) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Prefer Asgard 2 with my low impedance headphones Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, PayPal, Direct Deposit Extra Info: I purchased this in September 2017 from Addicted to Audio (genuine Australian stock). 6. Thanks, unfortunately I had no luck with them - they only stock prepackaged Mogami cables.
  7. As per title, I'm hoping someone can tell me where to buy Mogami 3103 in Melbourne?
  8. Item: DIY built HiFi rack (based on the TNT Flexy Rack, see here: http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/flexye.html ) Location: Melbourne (Bentleigh East) Price: $30 Item Condition: Few nicks on the corners, a couple of small spots of rust on the metal (must of been from storage). Thanks, I believe that one sold. In any case, I've just purchased something else spontaneously so no longer looking for a HK990!

I'm thinking I might like to try one of these amps so I can run my optical devices without buying a separate DAC. Anyone have one to sell? Melbourne preferred but would consider shipping.
  11. Item: Krix Neuphonix speakers in black ash finish Location: Bentleigh East, Melbourne Price: $1800 ono (RRP $3,995) Item Condition: Perfect working condition, no spikes. Cosmetically I'd say 7 or 8 out of 10, there's some very light scratches on the top (which I can't see unless in natural daylight or with a torch), scratches on the bottom (as they were used without spikes) and some little nicks here and there. I don't notice anything unless I look for it and overall they present very well. Reason for selling: Different direction. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: Made in Australia, great sounding speakers with a great reputation. They measure 1065mm high x 230mm wide x 430mm deep and weigh 31kg each. Pictures: See below
  12. A great performer in a compact size. Details here: http://www.svsound.com/SB12-NSD Plenty of reviews on the web. Pictures: See below
  13. I have a mate looking for a budget turntable for his first ever audio setup (strictly vinyl). Anyone in Melbourne have something decent for max $400?
  14. I now have a 2.1 setup with bookshelf speakers and an SVS PB-13 Ultra subwoofer. I'm wondering what's the best way to hook them up my Yamaha AS-1000 integrated amp? It has 'pre-out' and 'main in' connectors. I assume it's best to let only the sub handle the low frequencies rather than letting the bookshelf speakers run full range. Is this possible with my amp?
  15. If someone was wanting to diy such a thing, where to find the motor? Must be extremely low rpm.
  16. Here's some info which might help the person who gets these: Bass / midrange drivers: Seas T14RCY (note: the originals were a slight modification of these drivers, but are no longer available) Tweeters: Scanspeak D2905/9300 Crossover / port details / technical specs (zip file download): http://www.filedropper.com/voltaire Veneer: Palisander If an off the shelf port can't be found, you can use pvc pipe attached to a circular piece of mdf (rounded over with a router). I never the built mine but came close to! Sold them years ago with all the drivers to some lucky bugger. The speakers retailed for $6k new.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Those Boenicke's are a work of art! A challenging room and a need for small and stylish meant going from Tannoy 15" HPD's to a 2.1 setup. I ended up impulse buying some Wharfedale Jade 3 bookshelf speakers yesterday in black gloss with matching stands. Never thought I'd get bookshelf speakers or buy brand new, but I'm glad I did because they look amazing. Very modern with great curves, impossible for me to diy. Only been going for an hour so far but sounding extremely nice as well. I'll be hooking them up the SVS sub soon. We'll see how this 2.1 experiment goes!
  18. I'm looking for some modern looking slim floor standing speakers to pair with a sub. Something that can still manage a bit of headbanging dynamics. Budget is up to $1500, in Melb.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'm going to try it! Just wondering how you wired the two cores?
  20. Thanks for the comments guys, they sure do sound pretty good!
  21. I initially tried a cheap low power T-amp (15w/channel) which wasn't great, but they are much happier with my Yamaha AS-1000 (90w/channel). Haven't any other amps to try.
