  1. I also purchased a NFB 3 that shipped with the DAC 19 case. Was my first quality Dac and a really nice bit of gear. GLWTS!
  2. Hi, I'm interested in this. Would you post to Melbourne at my expense?
  3. Are these still available? I'd like to take them if so. cheers
  4. Hi, is the Mullard 12au7 triplet still available?
  5. For what it's worth, I bought a NFB-2 a few years ago and the case had DAC-19 on it. Seems they don't like to waste any cases....
  6. Can I be next in line if sale doesn't happen!
  7. Sold in 4 mins? A fast game is a good game! SOLD to Joe pending arrangements. Thanks for looking.
  8. Item: Quad 11L in piano black Location: Brunswick Price: $250 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT Extra Info: Due to upgrade, these beaut little speakers are sitting in their original box and bringing no joy to anyone. Time to move them on. Outstanding mid-range and decent bass for size, love jazz and vocals. Can't find a scratch on them - still have all original packaging and bi-wire terminal connectors. Happy to ship at buyers expense - can email more photos if required. Pictures:
  9. Jeez, tough crowd.....*sigh*.... Looks like it's off to Gumtree with these....
  10. Cheers fellas. I think the pricing is fair all things considered.... Luc these are the previous iteration to the Classic - they are dead ringers it seems but from memory the Classic had an upgraded cross-over or somesuch. Never got to hear a pair so I can't comment on sonic differences.
  11. Item: Quad 11L speakers Location: Brunswick Price: $400 ono Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD, Bank Transfer. Pick-up preferred but can deliver to Melb. metro. Have original packaging so will post at Buyer's expense. 10% of sale price donation to SNA. Extra Info: Selling my beloved Quads which I picked up from a fellow SNAer about five years ago. Not sure how I've managed it, but I can't find a single scratch on them hence the 'excellent' description - always driven with quality amps and never thrashed (I live in an apartment and the neighbours keep me in line ). I'd say a deep soundstage, controlled highs and a really sweet midrange are these speakers strengths. Bass is respectable for their size, but I ran a sub to fill things out. They do like powerful amps (performed well with Nad, Cyrus and Emotiva for me) and benefit from careful positioning. By way of comparison, I ran a pair of Usher 520's for a bit and while they imaged a little better, the Quads were far more warm and involving to my ears. Grills unmarked and I still have the original packaging (even the white gloves!) Pictures: Sorry about the iphone photos - can't seem to upload larger files from my camera.
  12. I'm keen on the Dynaudios - off to work now but will contact you in the morning. As long as they're in good nick, I'll take them. Cheers.
  13. If Juicester has second thoughts, please drop me a line. Cheers.
  14. Hi K-Board, This could be a good thing. I've got a pair of piano black 11L's that I love but I've lately been thinking of trying something new or upgrading. Did I read on the WTB Usher s520 thread you're in Brunswick? That's my hood, so perhaps we can arrange a mutual loan with view to swapping if we both like what we hear? Shoot me a PM. Cheers.
  15. Can someone tell me again.... Why are we back to the old classifieds? (not complaining, I think I liked 'em better...)
  16. Using one of these in my flat with some Quad 11L standmounts and really pleased with the result - as seller states, fast, tight and wonderfully musical. Good luck with the sale - someone will be very pleased!
  17. Do you think these might sound good in Brunswick? Can't believe I haven't got a heads up......
  18. Downloaded the script.... seems to have made no difference and not even sure it's running. Understand that when I said quasi-luddite, I was probably being kind to myself with the quasi bit. Still like to hear Happy-pants 'clever' way as I'd rather not have to open an Itunes account to get artwork.
  19. 3. I paste the album artwork image into iTunes. That way it is never linked to a site or goes missing. That's the only clever thing I can do with iTunes. I suck at everything else! Would you mind giving a fellow quasi-luddite a quick tute on this Mr Hp? cheers
  20. Getting a bit tangential (less trip hop) but in a similar vein/era.... Future Sound of London (bit more dancey) and Ian Brown (recommend his best of - The Greatest). Lamb as well.... Tricky's someone I keep coming back to - some absolute dross but then some really affecting stuff too. The Blowback album's a case in point - some tracks I can't listen to at all, others I'll happily stick on repeat.... And Henry Rollins swears the last good band to come out of England was Black Sabbath. Pfft - tosser.
