  8. I've taken to this path as well, simply because of the total mess of a library I've ended up with [Duplicates or not at all ], caused when trying to update/add new photos to my PC .
  9. For what it's worth, I think Sony has announced that it intends to make MINI LED it's premiere product in the 4K category , rather than QD-OLED. I can only suspect Sony engineers have come up with something better LCD/LED technology that we might see in 2025/6. I mean OLED is great, but TBH, when watching on a large screen, apart from 4K picture definition, Contrast wise, OLED looks like the ultimate in what could be attainable via the best CRT projection. Everything can look FILM LIKE on Sony OLED's. Great if watching Lawrence Of Arabia, but not for everything
  10. They have the 85X95L here. https://www.audiotrends.com.au/home-theatre-tv/tv-projectors/televisions/sony-bravia-85-x95l-xr-mini-led-4k-google-tv.html I've got the 77" A80K ATM [TBH there is virtually no difference between it and the newer A80L ], it's a good TV with a lot better blacks than a Mini LED, but even for a new OLED it is not the brightest TV, which is something that might put you off it compared to Mini LED which can be very bright. What it loses in brightness it makes up for in screen view angle, as I can be standing in my kitchen at a almost 45 degree angle to the TV and still have a perfectly viewable picture.

  12. Sony will try to help, but I've found they will get to a Take it or leave it stage [I've been there when my A95K went belly up ], which I think is where you might find yourself now. Looking at the prices of both the X90L and X95L there is currently a $3000 difference [The 85X90L is currently be offered at $1000 off], and from what I'm seeing only the specialist stores are stocking the 85X95L, if that is because Sony is making more of this model for other markets first [That's been happening a lot of the last few years], or just lack of demand for a Mini LED at that price point in Australia, I don't know. Have a look at the video below that compares the two sets, it might help in making a decision on what you want to do. I suppose you could say to Sony, how about I pay the difference between a 85X90L and 85X95, if they agree make sure it's at the RRP, not the discounted one.

  17. The first 3 emails seem like they are coming from Germany I'm not with Internode, but if I were you, I would just reference check the email address of any old emails you have received from Internode, against any of the emails above All are obviously trying to hijack your email address, so they can spoof you and steal your digital identity.
  18. I've written out many a post in reply to this question before, so rather than repeat myself, here is a link to some of my replies spread out in this short thread. I recommended using HCFR as the free calibration software to use, and the Calibration for Dummies guide/walk through to use, I gave links to both in the posts above. I have since found a series of relatively short YouTube videos that also shows you the process using this software. TBH I have not viewed all the videos, as I already know the process from using the Dummies Guide, so how correct the YT poster is in his process is not known by me.....He seems pretty competent, I wouldn't have given you the links if I thought he didn't know what he was talking about. BUT, I do think he does some steps in a different order, or slightly differently to what is written in the Calibration for Dummies guide. I know he missed the initial step of setting contrast on your TV, his videos are more on learning using the software from that point on-wards to calibrate. BEFORE viewing the videos, I Strongly suggest you read the Calibration for Dummies guide first [This your calibration Bible], just so you fully understand the process and the order of the steps you will be going through.....Copy and paste, then printing out the Dummies guide would be a good idea IMHO. Then just use the videos to give you a idea of where the controls are in the software, and what the software should be looking like on your screen at the same point of the process. 19. Well they obviously already have some, if not all of season 4 in the can already I would think, given that they have already shown the trailer for it. From memory I think it was about 7 months between seasons one and two, and about 9 or 10 between seasons two and three. I'll take a guess it shall be on our screens around late May 2024, maybe a bit sooner, as they are always only 5 or 6 episodes to a series, they might make a series 5 to be screened around the same time as this last one, for next year. I certainly hope so. As I read in a review, just to watch Slow Horses by itself it a good enough reason to get a Apple TV subscription.
  20. Well that comes as a bit of a shock, mind you that end of town seems to be mainly young Asian kids, which from my disc buying experience at JB is not your usual customer for Discs. The first JB store that I noticed a change to solely white goods, was at the Moore Park Super Center about two years ago. That came as a unpleasant surprise when I walked to the store to suddenly find no more stock of Blurays/4K It means I have to go into the CBD to buy my discs now, not a biggy as I'm really close anyway, but it means having to use public transport. For how much longer that option is available I dread to think, since JB is pretty much the only place that sells them these days. I'm hoping JB are of the opinion that if they intend to keep selling CD's and LP's, they might as well keep selling DVD/Bluray and 4K discs as well. It's just that I imagine there will be a lot less JB stores that will stock them.
  21. The A80L is pretty much identical to the previous A80K, of which I'd guess would have all sold out by now. I would have liked to have replaced my 65" A95K [which has it's panel broken in a accident] with the 77" A95L, but it took SONY way too long to release it [10 months after announcement ], sure it's better than the A80K/L, but having lived with both, I know the A95K differences are only really appreciated when watching UHD 4K Discs, and when streaming 4K stuff from Apple TV and sports on KAYO. For everything else there is not a great deal of difference, certainly not $3000 worth of difference with none 4k material
  22. Robert Iger's rein as CEO of Disney is a absolute disaster in every conceivable way. He is running Disney like Henry Ford ran his car company, which is a disaster for a company that whole existence relies on a huge amount of very creative people to make what it is selling. The stance of Robert Iger on the importance of script writers, and it would also seem actors, judging by his comments and stance on the writers strike, appears to be that they are of little importance, and ultimately disposable. He undoubtedly has a long term plan to replace both with A.I. Things were already bad within Disney when they started making movies with No Script,[ The Pirates of the Caribbean movies suffered from this] they were written as they were shooting. It would appear that the Iger's plan for Disney is to rely on and have as it's backbone, both the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, both which have been flogged to death, and producing and even worse cookie cutter copy of the previous movie, and both failing badly because of it, especially the latest few Marvel movies at the box office . None of these movies stir any emotions from the viewer, so they are all instantly forgettable. [The new Aquaman movie is apparently even worse than the first, which I found hard to believe possible as the first was a stinker , I mean even the trailer shows how bad it is if you have seen it, when Black Manta reappears and claims he is going to burn Aquamans realm to the ground.....hey genius, how are you going to do that if he lives underwater ?.....Total rubbish and a insult to even the dumbest American movie goer who will watch any crap. ] With little more than ever more dismal Marvel dross and flogged to death Star Wars, Iger expects people to sign up to Disney+ in droves. He is aiming Disney+ for a young and totally undiscerning audience in a very narrow age group. The vast core of that age limited customer base, is probably not pay for streaming Disney+, the parents are the ones paying for it, and when the parents start realizing, en masse, that the content on Disney+ is entirely made up of a load of crap, they will cancel the subscription, as it seems is already happening, the same goes for Netflix, who have also found themselves on very shaky financial grounds because of their recent subpar content offerings. IMHO all Iger is doing by removing Disc sales is turning people back to illegal downloading of the least crappy of the latest Disney+ content, which there is very little. It's certainly not making a Disney + subscription any more appealing.

  24. What !, they have removed the whole DVD/Bluray/4k disc section ? or just lost a load of shelves where the Disney/Marvel stuff was? I think gaming discs might be next going by the very rapid price reduction of the Disc version of the PS5/Xbox release of AVATAR : Frontiers of Pandora. It was released on the 7th December Usually JB has them for sale as a pre-order, and/or first day of release for $10 less than the normal price, which was $89 instead of $99 in my case They did that for this release, but instead of the price going up, to either $99 or $109 as per usual, I see the price has now dropped to $74 only two weeks later [it's $69 at Big W ] This has happened in the USA as well, I suspect the same is happening worldwide. If this price drop is only for this game I don't know I suspect it is, I still have no idea why this has happened, maybe Ubisoft wanted to try and make it THE game people bought as a Xmas present. The price for the same game as a download from the PStore is still at the overpriced $110.......I Hate the SONY Tax on games bought as downloads from the PStore, and avoid it whenever possible by buying the disc version of games. Moral is, don't ever buy the none disc playing version of a PS5, it will cost you at least 30% more on every new game purchase from the PStore, which soon adds up.
