Currently streaming Algiers - The Underside Of Power via Tidal. Wow. Made me sit up and take notice. I'm tipping the title track is going to pop up in a Quentin Tarantino movie. This is the first time I've heard these guys and I like what I'm hearing.

Hergest
Kings Of Convenience-Declaration Of Dependence. Leading lights of the short lived quiet is the new loud genre. Not bad for a relaxing Saturday afternoon. Wings-Back To The Egg. Ripper of an album bursting with pure pop songs. One of my favourite covers too, the poster was on my wall through all my teenage years.

Hergest
Crowded House self titled debut. I was doing some cooking so put a cd on. It's years since I heard this 1988 US copy which includes Can't Carry On. In between food prepping I sat in the sweet spot to have a good listen. God it's awful. Flat sounding with a soundstage slap bang centre but no more than 1 metre wide. Absolutely nothing like the original UK lp I've got which is full and rich with that lovely Mitchell Froom big production. *edit. It's a US made sleeve and box but a UK pressing Edited June 24, 2017 by Hergest
Candyflip
Lots of fun listening to this 1st press German issue tonight. Superb power from these early copies - and this one MINT.
scuzzii
This was my first ever Tom Petty purchase back in 89. And it was an instant favourite that was the soundtrack to a significant period in my life. I wasn't sure what the pressing would be like however I purchased it on the back of 'She's the one' which is quite good SQ. This is of the same quality. Really pleased with how it sounded. Love the music and was a great trip down memory lane. Gave it some wick as well.... the boys didn't even budge (quite similar to some of the times i listened to it when i was much younger) Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk

Much better than I expected. Not sure about any details becausr its not on discogs as a release yet.I was quite impressed.Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk

Citroen
Have been spinning the Jason Isbell on Tidal and the vocals sound a bit muted/muffled. @scuzzii how does the vinyl sound?

Sounds crystal to me on vinyl. Vocals are as he sounds on other recordings. The sq of this is the best of his releases.Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
ZEN MISTER
All things Procol Harum this afternoon. The first four are Mobile Fidelity Silvers from ages ago. Flat transfers, lots of dynamic range. Grand Hotel is the Friday Music reissue. A bit compressed, and not a patch on my first gen record, but feeling lazy, and tone arms are so heavy. Billy.
