It has absolutely no effect on the sound or the working of the USB input. The window on optical input (Input 5) does not close completely. I haven't changed the socket as I don't use it. Comes with a spare socket if the buyer wants to replace it. Does not affect the sound. Have original packaging. Purchased in 2013.
