SOLD

Item: Halcro EC800 CD/ SACD

Location: Adelaide Hills

Price: $sold

Item Condition: like new -

We have found a few of these in the Halcro factory. They are EC -800 Universal disc players (CD, SACD, DVD). They are in perfect working order, but were never quite finished at the manufacturing stage. The cases are still bare brushed steel, which actually looks quite cool.

These players were over $7000 new. We are selling these for $500 each - first in - first served.

Be quick and grab a bargain.

They are a superb sounding CD/ SACD player.

Is there a manual and would there possible be a photo or layout for the front control buttons. Obviously there is no front transport cover, but one could be made if one knew how it attached.

Is there a remote, and if not, are all functions available through the control buttons on the case?

A lot of important questions raised here, but if they are fully functional, I'm interested.

COLIN

They used a proprietary Swiss made Transport. Shipping to WA would be around $40

I think we do have some remotes. Will dig them up. All functions work through front panel.

+1.

Are they a rebadged DVD player with modified electronics?

How long have they been sitting there? i.e. when were they manufactured?

They are around 5 years old and are a DVD player as well. All factory checked.....

Looking at the PM's I think they are almost all gone already...... ooops.... I guess they were too cheap.

I have seen used examples go on eBay for $500 USD...

I'd pay more for one of these if the facia could be removed and painted as per current dm paint spec, and fitted with transport bay cover.

That's a $500 process in itself.... (painting)

Really? $500 used on Ebay? Please show me the link..... note, these are brand new - just unfinished...

I think we sold through this lot now..... took a few hours :)

Will see if we can find some more in the hidden corners of the factory.

Yes, $500 USD, they do come up from time-to-time. I always throw in a lo-ball offer but I haven't been able to jag one yet. I'd probably pay $1000 for a properly finished new one, it's worth paying the extra $500 for the paint job and screen printing of the button functions. In the past it was never the Halcro way to let a product out the door that wasn't perfect in every way.

I looked closely in the background of the EC800 photos for any other Halcro delicacies that might be on those shelves...I spotted an SSP but not much else. Everything hidden in boxes.

We have a warehouse full of new old stock.....

Gets me salivating at the prospect of what might be found in that warehouse, even though I have everything Halcro that I need (but a properly finished EC800 and dm10 with flight case would be nice....)

Tempting?  Hell yeah, and I don't even want a CD player...I'm sorted for sources, seriously...

@Magenta maybe if you find a black one that you're struggling to move on (ha!, not likely based on this thread), then drop me a PM...

I don't even know where I'd put it...
