Chigurh
Iv'e been thinking about buying a new pair of headphones. I'm only looking at full size / wired / over ear / non noise-cancelling types. They are invariably marketed as 3 types: DJ, studio / monitoring and hi-fi. Are there really any drastic differences between these categories or is it just marketing hype? Surely the qualities of a fine set of headphones would be appreciated in any environment.

unharmed
FWIW I've always tagged "DJ" as bass heavy and "studio/monitoring" as a flat and naked profile.
