Kaynin
Howdy, I'm looking to buy a new single Takatsuki TA-274B tube for the best price possible. Where do you folks go for an item like this? I know Woo Audio (USA) sell them, but just hoping to save a little on the purchase... Any positive purchasing experiences would help too.

I'm definitely getting one, just don't know where from yet. IIRC www.pricejapan.com has been plagued with bad (fraud/untrustworthy) reviews of late... Sir Rab of Everest
I bought my 300Bs from A2A, who source them from Woo. Expensive.
k-k-k-kenny
In 2014 I got a pair of Takatsuki 300Bs from the delightful Keiko Otani (Ms.) at Amtrans in Japan. We kept it simple, and the language barrier was overcome satisfactorily. Amtrans is not the easiest site to navigate, but has many, many interesting components. Takatsuki 274B is on this page at ¥97,200 = AUD $1160: http://www.amtrans.jp/SHOP/24552/31959/t01/list2.html Keiko Otani (Ms.) Amtrans.co.,ltd. Bandai Building 2F, 2-10-14, Kanda-Awaji-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 101-0063 Japan phone:81-3-5294-0301 fax:81-3-5294-0302 This is the link for their overseas customers, but it doesn't go to a full English language version.http://www.amtrans.co.jp/ovscust/ And they are still selling the 300Bs, which are a lovely sounding tube. Kaynin
Indeed it is, and $1160 is better than $1500...
k-k-k-kenny
+ shipping & GST though ... may be marginal, not if you're getting them from the States, of course
Kaynin
Hmmm, true regarding shipping and GST. Maybe better to go through A2A with a 1 year warranty.

That would be the smart choice !! Don't have to stress about them getting damaged or lost in the post either...... Will be interesting to hear how they go, the Takatsuki's are supposed to be pretty special.

Yeah, have been burnt in the past trying to save a few dollars and it ends up costing more... Very keen to add it to the amp, have upgraded the other tubes - now just the 5U4G. k-k-k-kenny
Amtrans use EMS: the Japan Post parcel service. It's excellent. However, once goods fall into the hands of Oz post, things can get interesting, as we know
