Did a quick web search and came up with this post with some basic specs and stating that it's elliptical...... Denon don't actually use the standard conical of other manufacturers though rather this square cut. Better detail than a regular conical, and easy to manufacture. I've never understood why they call it conical at all. Have a 103 retipped with an elliptical and it does gain detail and have less groove pinch though I found it lost part of the sound I enjoy in a 103.
