The paperwork that came with my Highphonic 103 Pro is in Japanese.

Did a quick web search and came up with this post with some basic specs and stating that it's elliptical......

Maybe the poster is incorrect though ?

Interesting list....very comprehensive. Hopefully and probably accurate. I love to check out a DL103FL (fine line), that sounds very intriguing!;)

yes.

103/103r uses same spherical stylus.

even the dl-a100 - 011th anniversary 103 stayed with the spherical stylus.

i'm wondering if i should go for the 103pro or 103r pro ...

Not sure if this sheds any more light but it translates:

"Needle tip - 0.2mm square solid diamond"

Yes, same as a standard 103. Denon don't actually use the standard conical of other manufacturers though rather this square cut. Better detail than a regular conical, and easy to manufacture. I've never understood why they call it conical at all.

Have a 103 retipped with an elliptical and it does gain detail and have less groove pinch though I found it lost part of the sound I enjoy in a 103. Get a shibata on there and it sounds far nicer ;)
