What does it matter if they are not a "pair" isn't this how Americas buy speakers by the single and not in pairs like we do.

because these are sold as a pair. and if wanting to take a unmatched hit in resale you'd accept an unmatched pair :)

Fair enough, better keep on eye on Convoy's factory second/refurb site, a cheap unmatched pair of B&W 805's should pop up.

You can come over and demo them if you like before they hit the 2nd hand market. I will ask the Convoy rep next week what will happen to them.

I tell ya what, of anyone has the 805D2's and is thinking of going for the D3's, just do it, they are well by far a better speaker.

The D2's are a mess compared to the control and clarity of the 3's.

They love being pushed. So much composure.

Giddy up, I assume he'll be picking up the others?

Yes and unboxing mine, obviously to ensure there's no further problems.

Excellent Outcome

Yes, Convoy were trying to push the Unmatched pair onto me, thankfully I had the support of Geoff from Tivoli Hifi who told them directly no.

@david256 did you open the envelope?

No, I didn't, I haven't even opened the accessories box yet.

All the excitement of the unboxing was lost after the stuff around.

Loving the speakers though. :)

My D3's partner in crime rocked up today courtesy of Audiotech in Canberra, cheers Sean @Audiotech Canberra

So far the difference between theses newer T9i's over the previous model is that kick drums actually sound more like the real thing. You can hear more of the tuck noise the beater makes of the drum head more than just a boom like before.

Its still needs a few hours to open up still, a bit tight ATM.

Hows the blend with the 805D3?  Are you using speakon inputs?

@joey_v I'm using the LFE input and it's blending way better the older T9.

3 months in and I was thinking about the time when the D3's were released today, when I said that I'd never buy them, being it was just 6 months since I had bought the D2's, nup, don't need/want them.

Foolish me.
