Further Information: Rega Fono Mini A2D MM phono preamp In mint condition New power supply pick up or view in Rye 3941 including postage The Rega Fono Mini A2D is a high-quality phono pre-amplifier for use with any moving magnet cartridge. The addition of a USB interface allows you to easily transfer vinyl to your PC. The Fono Mini A2D is designed to amplify the signal from a moving magnet cartridge to a suitable level for all line level inputs of an audio amplifier. The new Fono Mini A2D benefits from an extruded aluminium case and very user-friendly front and back panels that make this phono pre-amplifier a very easy product to use. The Fono Mini A2D amplifier offers exceptional performance and incredible value for money and promises to be a valuable addition to any hi-fi set up. To transfer vinyl to your PC, you will need to install a digital audio editor. Such software is widely available as a free download (such as Audacity), from the internet. This is a simple interface that allows monitoring of volume and balance whilst transferring your audio to your PC hard drive. Audio editing software includes a level meter which indicates the output level achieved when playing a piece of vinyl. You should adjust the output as necessary via the ‘Level’ control located on the front panel. Always take special note of record levels to ensure optimum recording quality. This is a cost effective version of the Fono MM and based on the phono amplifier as used in the Brio-R amplifier. Simply switch on, sit back and enjoy! 2. Lightly used phonostage with separate power supply and linking cable. MM or MC selectable. Extremely solid chassis with the lightest of use-rash on the edges. Happy to ship at buyer’s expense.
  3. Further Information: The Primare R32 needs no introduction. This is a fantastic phono pre-amp for the money, this one is no exception. It has worked flawlessly with my Rega P9 with a Lyra Delos MC cart. There are a couple of superficial marks on the top of the unit - they are less intrusive in reality, however the asking price reflects this. Pricing is firm and prefer a local sale- Perth so you can demo Plenty of info online, e.g. https://www.hifinews.com/content/primare-r32-£850
  4. Further Information: Brand new killer integrated amp. If you’re looking at a Rega or a Naim but after a more natural sound this is great. Fatigue free listening. Has a fantastic phono-stage too. price includes postage.

  11. Hi all, I am looking for some advice. I have the following setup: Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with stock Ortofon 2M Red and acrylic platter Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 Yamaha R-N602 stereo MusicCast receiver Yamaha NS-F51 floor standing speakers I had this system for a few years now with exception of Phono Box S2 which I purchased a year ago. Few weeks back I noticed my cartridge was worn out so I replaced it with a Goldring E3 which I purchased few years back but never actually got it fitted up until now. I have noticed with this cartridge that the volume is a bit lower than the 2M Red so I increased the input gain on my preamp from 40 db to 43 db which increased the volume a bit. Now here is where I need advice, could someone let me know if it would be ok to increase the gain to 60 db (this is the next available option on the phono box) or would that be too much for this cartridge? This made me think about improving my sound, which leads to my second question. Do you guys think I could improve my sound by getting a different pre-amp that is maybe more suitable for this cartridge, like a tube one for example or some other one? Or what would you suggest the first thing I should think about changing in order to improve my sound? I don't have a budget in mind, but something of up to $1,000 for one of these components would be ok. Cheers
  12. Further information: Handy adjustable phono preamp with multiple gain and capacitance options - more details here https://www.creekaudio.com/product-archive/obh-15mk2/ I've had this about 6 months and it's had about 200 records played through it. It's got a neutral sound IMO and I personally found it better than my Schiit Mani. I only upgraded to something that is a better match to my cartridge and had to spend a fair bit more to do so. I have the original box (and manual) and so can ship or can potentially deliver to Melbourne metro north east, north and west (say Hurstbridge around to Altona). RRP is $625 at the moment from two different Australian stores. Please excuse my old phone's photo capabilities.
