  2. Item: Rega Fono Mini A2D phono preamp Location: ACT Price: 100 posted Item Condition: 8/10 (two small marks) Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Bought this off another SNA member and used it for around 12 months until I got my Schiit Mani. This only does MM cartridges so is not required as I would like the option to try a MC cartridge without a Step Up Transformer (SUT). It does have a nice warm sound that suited my old Ortofon 2M Red well; I imagine the other 2M catridges would also be served well by this phono. I've tried battery phonos and the mani and non were better, just different. You can record with these phonos to PC with the included USB out. I've never used it so can't comment on how well it works. They retails for $170 so at $120 delivered, I think this is competitive. Pictures:

  4. Item: Lehmann Black Cube Statement MM/MC Phono Stage Location: Perth Price: $380.00 ONO Item Condition: Used but in very good condition Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: For sale is a Lehmann Black Cube Statement MM/MC Phono Stage. This is a fantastic phono stage. Great features, good build quality, compact and excellent sound. Well reviewed online and still holds a place in the Stereophile Recommended Components for 2017. Open to reasonable offers. This Black Cube has the basic wall wart power supply, which could easily be upgraded. The Lehmann Audio Black Cube Statement utilises a double sided circuit board and comprises audiophile Burr Brown gain stages. The features include; low ESR electrolytic caps throughout the circuitry, gold plated DIP-switches, noise metal film type resistors and an over-dimensioned AC adaptor to supply constant power. Due to the compact size of the Statement it can easily be placed near to the turntable to reduce the necessary cable length to as small as possible, further reducing loss and interference. Lehmann are renown for their special attention to detail and the Statement is no exception. This case even features includes a non-magnetic covering to cut down on unwanted resonance and electrical interference. A phono amp with many fans, offering a taste of Lehmann performance at an excellent price. The standard Black Cube can be upgraded to SE spec at a later date with the addition of the PWX power supply (which is the same price as the Black Cube SE, allowing you to easily upgrade later for the same price overall). Gain at 1kHz: 31dB, 41dB, 51dB, 61dB selectable Signal to noise ratio: 80db - 60dB depending on selected gain Input capacitance: 100pF Input impedances: 47 kOhm, 1k Ohm, 100 Ohm switchable underneath the unit, 1 slot for a custom load Output impedance: <100 Ohm RIAA filter: passive equalization between two linear gain stages Soft Bass Rolloff: 6dB/oct. @60Hz jumper activated Inter-channel mismatch: typ. 0,5dB Power consumption: 3W with external AC power adaptor Dimensions: audio section 103 x 108 x 45mm Pictures: Pictures:

  8. The Yaqin MS-12B is one of the rare objects in the DIY community to have reached “cult” status. In fact such is its extraordinary price to performance ratio and subjective quality of sound that it can easily challenge far more expensive preamps straight out of the box, with one caveat* ! Not only is it remarkably well built with high quality parts throughout, but it truly is a musical and 'sound expanding device' which introduces additional dimension, presence and richness via both its line level and phono input selectable source inputs. Extremely well received for it's excellent phono stage, it additionally incorporates a volume control (with a pleasantly tangible & finely stepped attenuator) and has dual pairs of RCA outputs, with one pair being a lower gain which can be of additional benefit when driving sensitive amplifier input stages directly, or even used to facilitate drive of a second amplifier as the case may be when bi-amping. *There was however one key issue in the original circuit design, only detected by the more technically adept... that being an incorrect value component for the 12AU7 tubes supply, which could shorten their lifespan and which additionally could result in varying degrees of hum subject to the specific tubes employed. Most purchasers and even reviewers were oblivious to the above fact, and mistakenly thought that the circuit was intrinsically susceptible to noise ! This preamp has been comprehensively tested and the errant component has been correctly replaced by a professional local technician to ensure operation at precisely the correct and optimum voltages, such that the unit for sale performs faultlessly and silently on our local 240V mains power. Unit has very low hours of use and is being sold effectively as new (and improved!) complete with factory box. The slimline chassis doesn't hog space and is simply a fantastic means to add pleasant tube sweetening to any system without any excessive softening or addition of noise one would typically expect from lower (and sometimes much-much higher !) cost tube circuits. A highly recommended stone-cold bargain for the savvy audiophile ! ? The following review expounds upon the positive attributes gleaned from the addition of the MS-12B to an already well sorted system: https://wallofsound.ca/audioreviews/review-yaqin-ms-12b-stereo-tube-preamplifier-and-phono-stage/ "As we began to listen to Bolero, my first impression was that the Yaqin presented a very realistic stage. The full spread of the orchestra was presented in a wide and deep relief. It painted a very accurate image. I was able to immerse myself into each section of the orchestra, and truly appreciate the timbres of the oboes as they danced with the clarinets. The brass section was also entrancing. The harmonics of the trumpets were superb. The attack and decay of their notes were faithfully reproduced. As the tempo and rhythm of the Bolero increased, the phono section never ceased to render the music’s macro dynamics and subtle details. The percussion section, notably the kettle drums that underpin the score, were never falsely overblown. After the piece reached its thunderous climax, my friend and I looked at each other and nodded. Indeed, the Yaqin MS-12B had met the challenge that the Well-Tempered Turntable presented it with. The only electro-mechanical noise that I was able to detect was the barely noticeable hiss of the Roksan’s Gyger II stylus as it travelled between tracks on the album." "During that afternoon’s listening session with my friend, he asked me to plug in my Mytek DAC into the Yaqin’s CD/DVD input. After listening to a few songs through it, I asked if I should re-plug the DAC directly back into the integrated amplifier. His reply was no. Let’s leave it plugged into the Yaqin MS12-B. I spent a great deal of time testing the CD/DVD input, and yes, it does add positive aspects do the listening experience." Tube compliment: 12AX7 × 2 and 12AU7 × 2; Output voltages: dual outputs of either 0.25V or 0.7V; Output jacks: two channels two group gold plated RCA jacks; Input sensitivity: preamplifier ≤0.25V, phono stage ≤5mV; Inputs: one CD/DVD jack, and one moving magnet phono jack; Harmonic distortion: preamplifier ≤0.25%, phono stage ≤0.5%; Frequency response of preamplifier is 15Hz to 100kHz @-2.0dB; Signal-to-Noise Ratio: CD/DVD >75dB (input voltage of 0.5V, and output voltage of 0.7V @1kHz); Phono Input >65dB (input voltage of 10 millivolts, and output voltage of 0.7V @1kHz); Phono stage suitability: moving magnet; Weight: 3.0kg; Dimensions : 17cm(W) x 38cm(D) x 16cm(H). Item: Phono Preamp Price Range: Up to $2,000 Item Condition: Used Extra Info: Having run my restored 1970's Thorens TT through the phono stage of my Yamaha Aventage receiver for the last 12 months, I've decided the time is right to run it through it's own dedicated phono preamp then into the receiver. If anyone is looking to upgrade their existing phono preamp and would like a new home for their old pre-loved one please let me know. I'm currently running a Shure MM Cartridge with Shure N75ED Type 2 stylus.
