Hi, My home setup is going to need a change soon, as NBN will soon be connected. Currently I use ADSL2+, with the modem router sitting in my study with wired connections to a NAS, a PC, a Mac Mini and endpoint (Sonore microRendu) for streaming. The NAS has my music rip collection, and I use Roon. Wirelessly I connect to streamers for Home Theatre room and stereo room. Multiple wireless devices (Aries Mini, Apple TV, Google Chromecast etc). Basically study upstairs (headphones / active desktop speakers), AV/music listening downstairs. When NBN gets set up soon (HFC for me) it will come into the house and come in close to the HT living room. Supplied wireless modem router is Huawei HG659 from iinet. So... I'm after suggestions. Fibre or ethernet cable my house internally. Use Huawei as modem only and employ a decent switch. Move NAS to HT room (noisy) to be wired connection Put wireless access point in the study with multiple LAN ports, and leave the NAS in the study Mesh networks for better coverage (e.g. Google Wifi, Netgear Orbi)? I'm mostly concerned because ISP provided routers are often rubbish. I'm especially wanting to have the internal network robust for when I stream my ripped music, and avoid unnecessary wireless hops to reach the router/switch.
